"I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that
he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
2 Timothy 1:12

My understanding has always been,
It is not me holding on to God,
it's God holding on to me.

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:28-30

Yes we all know of the power, grace and desire of God for his churches BUT in a marriage it takes two to be faithful; and the sad truth is that many Christians divorce their husband - or rather break off the betrothment to their intended bridegroom.

God is ever faithful, but people are often weak and fickle; and go back into the world. Is not being destroyed by pornography as big of a problem for Christians as for worldly people??

2Tim 2:11  Faithful the saying: for if we died together, we shall also live together:
2:12  if we endure, we shall also reign together: if we shall deny him, he also shall deny us;
2:13  if we are faithless, he abides faithful; for he cannot deny himself.

Here we have the teaching that God is faithful even when we are not - praise God, but verse 12 referring to saints and not to unsaved worldly people clearly instructs us that if disciples end up denying Christ then we too will in the end be denied by Jesus.

And there are plenty of scriptures in the gospels and the epistles and Revelation that uphold this teaching.

Not everybody who calls me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of Heaven - again Jesus is addressing disciples not unsaved worldly people.

Yes, that can happen in a marriage.
I have earthly parents, and (if) I came to hate them,  I could totally disown them, change my name, and move to the other side of the world.
But they would still always be my mother and father.

And as a child, with a Father, who happens to be God,
He will always be my Father.
He will never leave me (for any reason)
He will never forsake me.
God is light. He cannot lie.
His promises are true.
All of them.

So? But people, disciples, believers leave God.

The scriptures warn us multiple times - a Christian must endure to the end.

You must continue to love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and continue on to serve the gospel. Many fail and give up.

Why does Paul warn us not to quench the Spirit if this was not a salvation issue??

There is just too much said in the NT - and the OT regarding this issue. And for those who might say the OT doesn't count the same as the NT.... well, that isn't so. On both sides of the Cross do we find individuals who have lost their faith - there will be no difference in their end result ....

In the NT we do have Paul writing about keeping the faith, we have a few parables speaking about keeping the oil or not losing our salvation due to the things of this world. Also, Jesus Himself said that "it would have been better for Judas if he had not been born......". Now this comment has more than one meaning / message, but Judas was a follower for much of His ministry and made a decision to leave Jesus.

We are not to "grieve" the Holy Spirit..... He is always there for us but we do have the choice to accept or reject at ANY stage in our sanctification process.... this is not a "get a stamp on your left wrist" when you enter the club and it will never wear off....

Just my thoughts, Charlie

Whoever can walk away, lose faith, or whatever were NEVER HIS in the first place. I’m not gonna go back and forth with this. I just encourage you to read your Bible carefully and prayerfully. Remember there are wheat(born again/regenerate) and tares (professing Christians). They say they are in Him but He was never in them. If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His. You guys are basing your salvation on works whether you realize it or not.

We are His possession. Bought and paid for. We are now part of His own body. Will he cut off His toe and throw it away? We are not our own. Nothing can separate us from His love. Nothing can separate us from Him. We are His.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
