One time you say one thing and another you say another.

Can't you tell.

What is scripture spoken by God, and God breath scripture, is there any difference.

Did Adam Sin according to scripture?

Well of course Marathoner says one thing one time and another a different time - he is just following what MAY be your position where one time he quotes a lie in the Bible and the next time he quotes the truth found in the bible.....

I have found that Marathoner is pretty darn good and determining what verses in the bible are truth and which ones are not..... so far I would say he is batting 100.

Now Marathoner.... do NOT let this go to your head .. there is still much work to do ..... there are just too many folks out there who do not agree with your selection process of which verses are from God and those that are from...... I am not sure who snuck in there....

NOW BEFORE YOU RESPOND TO THIS POST @Your closest friendnt PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS ENTIRELY MADE IN JEST..... IT IS JUST TO RELIEVE SOME OF THE TENSION THAT SEEMS TO BE BUILDING UP......AND I FEEL TERRIBLE FOR JUST SHOOTING MY DOG.

But that is another story and please allow me to get back to you soon as I am being handcuffed as we speak....

Best wishes, Charlie :mgcop:

Finally, someone with some sense here.... no offense @Marathoner  I know you are still busy identifying those verses in the 66 books that are not from God and must be removed at all costs.... Please keep us informed as I am trying to study Daniel and I don't want to waste my time with verses that are just wrong ....

But I do thank you @Marathoner for giving us a little more input than @Josheb... I like your approach  -- I think it is called argumentum ex explosio....I am a little rusty on my Latin....but that is because it was all a lie and thrown out.... The RCC bible used to be 666 books.....

Just my frustrated thoughts, Charlie

If you think for one minute you are coming across as a friend to ANYONE with your recent responses, you are mistaken.... I have seen some folks in this forum be quite rude and ignorant but for whatever reason... today you simply went over the line toooooo many times and apparently, with NO remorse for YOUR doings.

This is the first and last time I will make such a terrible response to ANYONE... I have NO problem using humor to loosen the tension with me or between other folks in this forum but today..... today.... you just continue to want to poke the bear... and by this I mean all the bears in the forum.....

Now, I will NOT respond to anymore of your posts today..... I still have some Sabbath to enjoy.....

NOW, please leave now and go into the desert and kill.....

 Charlie

We can take a break from this discussion and I will ignore your comments in your last post.

Only keep in mind, someone else use the word "inerrant " and I inquiry about it, I never use it my self because I do not know what people mean when they use it and I asked.

Is this forbidden?

Of course not, but let us remember that whatever is given to us in the scriptures is approved of God, fit for our instruction and edification. Hence the scriptures are God-breathed

During the time of my recovery in the wilderness years ago, His Spirit taught me how to reason and speak again by the scriptures. It wasn't enough that I was able to read verses and passages (I never lost that ability); the Lord commanded me to read them aloud to Him. I still tremble at the memory of how excruciating these exercises were but His Spirit commanded me not to relent.

It was my first lesson in obedience to His voice: focus upon the Lord and wait upon Him alone. Once this was done He directed me to read the fourth chapter of Genesis to Him and when I was finished, the Spirit questioned me about what I read. Again, I had to vocalize everything and was dismayed whenever I drifted off course (it was difficult to maintain concentration), but He was gentle and commanded me to start over from the beginning: read the passages aloud and tell Him about what I read.

Were Cain's words the words of God Himself? Of course not, but the lesson of Cain is given to us by God so we might understand that no matter what we do, we ought to be swift with honesty and confession in the sight of God who knows the secrets of our hearts. Cain slew his brother Abel and his vanity, deceit, and lying lips were an abomination to the Lord who surely knew all that Cain had done.

The scriptures are God-breathed and thus they are inerrant, for there is no shadow of turning in the Lord. He is not like a man who regrets his words.

Thank you for explaining.

God bless

I would say that the TRUTH STATEMENTS are not in error. To say any one particular text does not make mistakes is silly. People have a warped sense of 'inspiration'. The  bottom line is God's Truths never fail.

Both Leaders claimed the same thing about the bible that is "inerrant" and they started a religious war that killed thousands of believers on both sides.

Thank you for your insight, there translations of questionable context away from the original and claim their value by saying it is the "inerrant " word of God (alluring to their translation) that was one of my points.

The other problem is the translations.

And at the preface they say "the inerrant " word of God. And are used to deceived many.

No worries, brother. My head is like a sieve. :)

I'm sorry, @Your closest friendnt, but you lost me somewhere on the South 40. What did the apostle Paul tell us?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV)

Not a few, nor some, but all scripture. Silly me! I completely misunderstood your position and for a fleeting moment, was under the impression you were picking at nuance.

@Charlie744 has offered excellent advice. I'm going to move along and drink coffee. :coffee:

Who decides (and how) what the "truth statements" are, in the Bible?

Which particular biblical texts do you think make mistakes, and how would you know?

By what means do you test particular biblical tests, to determine if they are truth or error?

What standard, external to the Bible, do you use to judge the Bible?

Your post throws up many such questions.

I guess we ain't writing about water baptism anymore?

Anyway last word - given the truth of scripture yes a disciple MUST be baptised in water for the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 22:14  And he [Ananias] said, ‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth;
22:15  for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard.
22:16  And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’

same as Acts 2:38 thank God I know that the Word of God [Jesus] is true.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
