I have to live by faith but it would be easier if I saw miracles. I have no choice but to follow because he is my hope and his joy and peace make me feel new.

Spiritual sickness is not in the word. I wonder if some look at this related to physical or emotional sickness, inner healing. I agree on that.

Everything talked about comes down to "faith". What do you truly believe and what do they truly believe. We each think we believe, have faith duh! But the truth is we don't if we had just a mustard  seed of faith we could move mtn's. Look at Peter and John after the man was healed they told them why do you look at us as if we did this by our own power its FAITH in that name. So do you have FAITH in that name? He told us lay hands on the sick they shall recover period. Shall not maybe not might. Even before that we will cast out demons...do you? You will speak with new tongues do you? We seem to believe His word John 3;16. He that same God said "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

So again do we truly believe in Jesus and when He speaks is just  yes and amen? Do we remember "Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us. Do not stop him, Jesus said. For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me,  for whoever is not against us is for us"

That man did what? He just listen to what Jesus said and acted on it. He just believed. And read Jesus said "does a miracle in my name". Do you have faith in that name!  So since you believe in Jesus YOU were given the right to use that name. He gave you the POWER/AUTHORITY over all the power of the enemy. If we could truly see when looking at each other.. the light is brighter then anything in creation. That light in YOU is the king of kings lord of lords. He loves you so much...think... WHO in all creation did He give the right to use HIS name? To be given given the power and authority? Some see this now but when we stand before Him we truly understand it was has been will always be JUST Him so we lay our crowns that HE gave us.. at His feet.

It is truly amazing what doubt can do. We see faith in other all the time the classic "every year I get the flu" "every year this time I get sick"..oh there are so many more. Faith works both ways. That is great faith there! Not the way God wants us to use it. With the heart man believes with the mouth confession is made. See its not up to me to heal. Yes I MUST believe so I always ask "what can you believe for?". There are those that know He heals but is He willing? ALWAYS!

Oh dear brothers and sisters...side note.. I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE how they spoke to each other back then.. really changed huh. Don't believe anything I say.. yet I do not lie I only share what I know no more. Don't believe me YOU read you pray you ask HIM not man. WHAT is to hard for the lord? In your own life work on just believing what HE said that He can't lie.. in Jesus name

There is spiritual sickness, yes, and physical sickness.

To me Jesus can heal either one or both. It has to be in His will, and

also we have to have faith that he can save us. He can save us from sin,

and he can also save us from sickness. Thanks be to God!

Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Hosea 14:4 (KJVAE)

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

The work of the suffering deals with sin and the sin nature.  This work touches on the condition of not being able to abide in Him.  When our backsliding is healed we are able to abide in Him.  This is the most important part of the sufferings.  Physical healing is great and available but at best it is temporary.  It is important for us to set priorities on the eternal.

This topic isn't about a spiritual gift but a certain scripture. The reason I post it here is because folks who believe in gifts use this scripture often. Its my belief that this scripture is misunderstood and I would like a friendly discussion on it. I believe Isaiah 53 isn't about physical healing but spiritual instead. Think about it, if sinners were physicaly sick we would all be phicically sick with disease but this isn't the case. We are all spiritually sick however. This Isaiah sripture is for us all too. We are all spiritually sick without Jesus to heal our spiritual man. Jesus said a sick man needs a doctor, and he was referring to spiritual sickness not physical and so is Isaiah (Mark 2:17)

Hi Whyme,

I believe the scripture refers to, when we get healed then the scripture tells us HOW  we get healed, - it is by His stripes.

regards, Marilyn.

Hi Marilyn, the scripture was spoken to people who were in Covenant with the Lord, which Covenant included how the Lord was punishing his people for their sins.

**"by his stripes we are healed", it tell that he was punished for our sins, and took our sins upon himself, so he has received the punishment for our sins and our iniquities.

In Jesus Christ who is the one in Esaias 53, who was punished for our sins, we are not longer have to live with the fear that God is punishing us for our sins because we are under the grace that he bear the punishment of our sins in his body, recieving the stripes.

It was prophesied that he will receive the stripes and that ends the old Covenant and the Grace takes president.

And as we still get sick without examining the reasons Jesus Christ is in the business of healing us from all kinds of sickness physical or mental, or emotional or of what someone may call it.

He also heals and meands our broken hearts.

Amen

It is good to live by faith.  The works or miracles do not seem to change the hearts of unbelievers if they will not believe the words of the prophets.  This is from a teaching of Jesus recorded in Luke 16.
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Hearing the words of the prophets is the key to faith.  Faith comes by hearing, hearing comes by the word of God.

I don't need to believe in a miraculous physical healing to change my heart because God already does that

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
