I have a friend that practices what I can only call witchcraft.

I could be hyping this a bit but from what she describes it sound's like seances, tarot reading and some type of spiritual warfare.

I really don't know what to think. I know enough to stay away from that stuff myself. Don't need it anyway, our Father is the supreme power and there is no need to fear man or beast.

She also describes being attacked in a spiritual way then later engaging in some spiritual battle to fight those people...casting spells on her...I think that's what happening from what she says.

What do all of you know about this and is there a good way to approach a conversation?

This is something we should take great care about. Any of these spirit beings are out to hurt us. God's Obedient Host never seek an audience with humans and we're told not to do this. Why? Because it works and is dangerous! We have a hard enough time relating to humans, but when it comes to the 'unseen others' we have no clue at all other than to KNOW they are out to cause us harm.

I have always wanted to visit a clairvoyant, only to suss them out, would they pick up on the Holy Spirit that indwells me, .it never materialised into anything other than that, ..they don’t scare me ,why would they, when I have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit...I have His protection in all things.

The devil is real and he does work through demons and followers of him.

Be very careful to live closely to Jesus, to know what you are talking about. If you attend a church that only talks about having faith, of just believing , then you are not trained as a Christian.

Should you talk with this friend,I would suggest asking her about death and what happens next?

Does she believe in life after death, in heaven and hell?

How does one end in hell? John 3:18 is were I would go.

Yo aren't arguing for or against witchcraft or Christianity but about the afterlife and the fact that it is God who controls this. By implication one should then follow God.

I think most people into that sort of stuff are faking it anyway. Like auras for instance. If you read about the meaning of different colored auras it's all really the same for any color aura. Just say something nice about a person and comment about the appropriate color of aura and they think you're a seer or a diviner, or whatever. It's a shell game.

I think my friend might be into something deeper and darker. It's odd though, her personality around me doesn't reflect darkness. I lived with my wife for 18 years and her personality was quite dark all while confessing to be a Christian. Strange.

I agree. I'm not afraid just uninformed. I know little about it even though I have seen it manifest over time. Our Father is the supreme power and the spirits obey Him. So though Him in me I have a resource of protection and power.

She's a sweet person and I feel I need to have a conversation with her.

And just for the record we are friends only.

The powers of darkness are real and they're dangerous, so be careful.  Now, having said that, you could ask her if she knows about a power far greater than that which she uses (or thinks she uses; really, they use her), then use that as an introduction to God, the broken law/sin (including the warnings against witchcraft), guilt and spiritual death, the cross, resurrection and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

I would strongly recommend praying before, during (internally) and after witnessing to her, since the powers of darkness are directly involved and they will look for any way to get back at you and to keep her.  God is almighty, they are not; but, this is a war and not to be treated lightly.

She is probably demonised, so you might have to cast something out, in which case prayer and fasting is recommended.

Matt. 17:18-21 (MKJV)

18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and he departed out of him. And the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why could we not cast him out?
20 And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.
21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

True that the world is full of charlatans, However, occultic practices are not fake. Seeking out, even in curiosity any form of the occult is forbidden in the bible. Scripture vehemently condemns all forms of the occult. The occult (witchcraft) is any practice that seeks spirituality, knowledge, or power apart from God. The bible teaches and commands us to stay away from any and ALL forms of witchcraft. We are not to learn anything occultic or even be curious about it.

Share the gospel with this person and share why you believe as you do about the gospel. It is wise to NOT spend a lot of time around such individuals. Do NOT let her beliefs in the occult influence you! Or fool you into thinking such things are safe. Steer clear of the subject on anything occultic. Our Godly lives are to be a shining example of Christ, and an influence to those around us to put their trust and faith in Jesus only.

Many who follow witchcraft are led to believe it was the original religion back before Christianity and are told it's a more "pure" religion. If they had interest you could show them their religion does not predate anything. God has always been and we worship that God who created the entities they worship.

Those who look into satanism will eventually be confronted with teachings that supposedly discredit the Bible. For those who have not studied the Bible in depth to get answers, their answers seem to make sense making Christianity look like a fabricated belief. I believe LOTS of people are misled this way.

So their "line" is-

We have a religion with roots that predate Christianity. Our religion is the real religion.

The Bible has been discredited and is not a reliable source of information.

Satan is really a benevolent being.

Discredit scripture, show an alternative that lets them pretty much do whatever they want to do in the flesh. Tell then Satan isn't so bad after all. These are all reason people give who are into the occult. If they choose to believe a lie and not investigate the truth there isn't much you can do. If they choose to investigate further, they will see the lies of satan. Many people who come running out of the occult have had a bad demonic experience, so it is in the best interest of the belief not to expose it for what it truly is.

The occult is also like a trap. Once a person has made promises to these entities or become possessed themselves, they are indeed trapped. The constantly have the terms of their "responsibility" laid out if they think about leaving. Those deep into the occult can be accused of murder because they do murder, so this is yet another reason not to leave it for them. Many would be in jail for what they've done.

Those dabbling in the occult are in a very dangerous place indeed. The spirits lie and make these spirit guides look like a helpful thing.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
