Because GOD expects us to do MUCH.

And tells us we better.

Not to receive the gift already given, not to keep the gift, BUT because of our LOVE OF HIM.

WHY couldn't they EARN salvation UNDER THE LAW?  They DID NOT have the Holy Spirit leading and guiding them.  The veil wasn't rent. They could not boldly go unto God.  They had to follow the law of the ordinances, shed blood for the forgiveness of their sins, a blood that CANT even compare to the BLOOD of the Lamb slain.

BUT we do.  IF WITH GOD MAKING IT ALL that easy, don't you think WE MUST say Study to show ourselves approved?

How hard did Paul work?  Wasn't he our example?

SURE we receive the free gift, it is not of OUR WORK but the Lords but unless we want to ARRIVE in front of God with nothing more than the thief on the cross brought, WE BEST GET TO WORK, cause our works do follow us.  Want to be a gold vessel unto honor or a wood one unto dishonor.  OUR CHOICE.

The Lord is not going to JUDGE HOW WELL HE WORKED WITHIN US.  But HOW WELL WE WORKED WITH HIS LEADING AND GUIDANCE.

In my humble opinion.

Hey sis, they could not earn salvation under the law for two reasons

1. perfection was required, even today we can not live up to that standard

2. because that was not the purpose of the law, the purpose of the law was to expose our sin an lead is to Christ.

as for must, that’s putting us under law. A child of God one yes out of gratitude, out of love, out of knowledge his father loves him and would never ask him to do anything that would hurt him, and he is trustworthy, so I will honor and respect him. Not because we must,

must is religious, it sounds right, any human would believe it, but that is just it, if any human required their kids to do all they say or else they will get kicked out of the family, people would look down on them, yet when people say God will do that, I guess they think it is ok.

paul called the people in the galations church trying to add works to the gospel fools, because they believed they started in the spirit, but must continue to save themselves in the flesh,

sanctification is the work of God in our lives, not our own hard work. We can do nothing, the best we can offer is filthy rags,

By the reading and hearing of Gods Truth in which Christ is formed within us.

Does it just happen, or does it happen because we learn to trust Gods word? and it causes a change in us?

I do indeed believe and act upon the word of God:

Romans 2:3  Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
2:4  Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

Hebrews 12:14  Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
12:15  See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;
12:16  that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.
12:17  For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears.

2Peter 1:8  For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9  For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.
1:10  Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

Which is it?

do you believe the two verses as written?

the verses you just posted do not speak about those two verses. Can you stick to those two right Now please?

It does our conversation no good if we just post a bunch of scripture and have no discussion on what the verses say,

anyone can cut and paste scripture that appears to support them.

so what will it be, can we discuss those two. Or should I move on to someone who really wants to discuss the word?

repentance is from unbelief,

God changes our thinking on sin after we are saved in my view

We only need to agree with God concerning our sin once we first repented.  He has promised to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we we confess our sin.

1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1Jn 1:8  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

if we can not be good enough to earn salvation, how can you claim we must do anything?
if anything we must remember, he who began a good work will complete it (not might)

and he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

do you believe these two passages my friend?

I do not copy and paste scripture because I am avoiding your questions, the scriptures posted are pertinent to what you are quoting - for you are implying an understanding of these verses which are doctrinally incorrect.

Philippians 1:5  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
1:6  And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

so what are you claiming here? That we cannot fail or sin or backslide because God will bring us through whether we like it or not?

I am not a robot, and I have free will which includes the choice to sin and keep on sinning. If I choose to be loyal and steadfast and to walk in the Spirit then Christ Jesus will see me through to the end. And if I stumble with sin and confess and repent of this then yes I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Verse 6 corresponds to other verses that teach us of God's hand upon us in partnership with our faith and our walk ... a walk we need to put effort and works into for it is truly a mutual obligation agreement.

1Peter 1:4  to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5  who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Hebrews 10:14  For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Yes Jesus has sanctified and justified the Spirit-filled Christian; but this verse is a motherhood claim about our spiritual status in Christ Jesus. This applies to those of us who love the Lord sufficiently to endure to the end and walk in the light.

Again what are you claiming here? Some doctrine over and above what this scripture teaches us it would seem.

Salvation is dependent on us walking on and overcoming temptations, trials and tribulations. And as we do then God helps us to soldier on.

None of these verses nor any others support the false doctrine of OSAS.

@Eternally Gratefull do you believe the following verses?

2Peter 1:5  For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,

And Peter is writing to the saints - to those sanctified in Jesus and to whom he will complete a good work in them ...

I remember you now from another chatroom, we have had many conversations. Trying to have the same conversations here will not help. I do not wish to get into a heated debate while I am new, so I will do what I did there and turn you over to God.

your doing the very thing you claim you never do, again, you post scripture that appears to support you,  and you reject scripture that apposed you,

been there done that.   Good day sir.

You may not be aware of this, but using capitals = shouting.

I understand it is not politically or internet correct and others do see it that way, but that is how I have written my entire life.  I have diaries going back many years, and it is how I have always written.  When I try and write without them I feel like a fraud, it makes it about me, not God.    Maybe it is GODs way of keeping some from reading what I write, IDK.

So should I conform to what others have now dictated is the 'correct' way or should I remain true to my natural self?  I pondered this very question for a long time and I  even tried quite a few times and arrived at the conclusion that it costs more than it's worth.  Maybe one day 'the rules' will  change and it wont be wrong anymore.  A girl can hope.

So, yes,  I am and have been made aware.  If it offends you,  please just skip over my posts or put me on ignore so it doesn't happen anymore.

Just wanted to mention... the ONLY reason I use caps is because I want to emphasize a point / word / concept / interpretation, etc.  When I respond to another's post there is NO shouting ....... but please do not ask my dog if he agrees.... poor thing!  Charlie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
