Yes, that's the application for AI. In this, advanced computing is no different than a simple calculator which is properly classified as a computing device. The abacus is a computer (I wrote a paper about the abacus for my Data Structures lab). 

We become tired, distracted, bored, and frustrated. Computers are therefore tools we fashion to faithfully perform calculations which require too much human effort to maintain consistently in real time. My laptop performs three billion calculations per second (3 gigahertz) in real time... a tool which never complains on the job.

Computers process a billion inputs on the stock exchange and decide the best way to make money for XYZ Corp is to short a given company or industry. Your portfolio drops.

Computers process a billion inputs on social media and decide the best way to win an election is to smear XYZ candidate in a given manner. You lose the election.

AI in it's present state is not self-aware. It has no emotion. But it can out-calculate you in ways that matter.

What Is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

With this in mind, just doing a simple arithmatic, if they are using,a 2048 chip to operate a 1024 computer, than they already have a 2048 that they will be able to ultilize as soon as they want to  and implement that, All they have to dois activate the other halph of the chip . In 2016 they annonced that in 2017 they will be releasing a model computer that will have over two thusand cubits thats the 2048 that is came out in 2017.   Now queeping in my if we calculate they are advancing in every quater,  they are doubling the number of chips,  2048 means=4096, so 4096 was were they were really at in 2017,  we are operating with a system of bi nary programming, but in a quadrany programming ( a term Anthony Patch uses,) to explain and advance  that they are advancing the chips in a power of two , so if you go ahead and google, the power of two and look at the progression of the numbers, the number 4096, is two to the twelf power. If you go to two to the power of thriteeth, they actually have based on the power of their advancement, they actually have an 8091 model .

My first custom made computer ran at a whopping 33 megahertz, 40 MB hard drive, 250 cache, dual floppies, no disk player.
Would program an internet program on dial up, hit send, eat supper, ck the PC, to see if finished 'seeking'....usually not!
Had to create a boot disk to run the first "Flight Simulator"  (lats 80's +/-)
And this pc was considered really fast for back then..

Ah yes, I remember those days. The first computer I was exposed to was a Commodore 64; I fiddled around with BASIC. We had a tape drive... wow! Then came a Tandy IBM clone featuring an Intel 80386 chip... woo hoo hoo, it made the Commodore look a can opener! :laugh:

When I worked for Rockwell International after the military, I'll never forget the rooms which housed an analog computer used by engineers for real time simulations. I called it "LOONIVAC." :D

Very seldom anything major. We monitor the power feeds as well and can trend them. There are multiple feeds for power that automatically switch if needed. Given all of that complexity one might think there are lots of problems. There aren't other than the common expected periodic repairs. 

The problem with the 737 MAX was human error not computer error. 

I don't really see AI as taking over for humans. I see it as an access point people can tap into for information. We see this now with Alexa and Siri. They are getting more and more intelligent over time. Alexa is learning answers and responses to questions every day. She already knows more data than the smartest human alive. I use Google for voice recognition to dial phone numbers and find locations I need to go to. I never take my eyes off the road. All done verbally. So I see this as "artificial intelligence" it figures out what you are looking for and gives you the answer.

I see possibly some kind of a more powerful system in the future that can understand even complex human communication and offer solutions. Eon Musk's Tesla cars have a self driving feather hands free. There have been a few issues with it. Give it time. I'll bet they perfect it. It's 99% there now. I think the main solution is redundancy in case of failure. 

At some point in the future I see men tapping into information by merely thinking about it. If a certain part of your brain thinks 'weather' a display will pop up giving you the weather. The Raptor supposedly has AI built into the helments of pilots. Not sure what the interface is, if it tracks eye/head movements? It is said when the pilot looks down they see as if there is no jet between them and the ground. Probably using cameras ported to the helment. I have mixing software that looks at my head and determines where I am in an artificial sound space. Tracks my head movements. 

What if we could track brain thoughts? I think in some labs they already have done it.

Just so you know. If they come out with a brain implant I'm not getting one ;)

No I don't need a replacement brain either.

Boot disks? Nostalgia! Flight Simulator was a blast... loved that one. 

A smart phone can run circles around the computers we remember in terms of processing power. Sad, yes? But true.

That one I had  was a 486 w/math co processor. I still have my basic (non windows) hooked up to my home built CNC machine.
I have to get out my note book to remember how get to the 'C' prompt (dot dot dash dash).  I keep it because  I still have
'DAN CAD' software on it to generate G code to run the steppers on the machine. That was a 'garage group' software guys
and we were the 'betas' to develop the code.
The new stuff blows the doors off that old dinosaur software, and extremely user friendly.
Hopefully get back into it if I ever retire.

This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
