It really was a great tribulation. Historians say that the makeshift crosses that littered the landscape had the soldiers crucifying people in weird ways and having fun doing it. It was absolute mayhem.

Romans 1:18-20 Divine Retribution will be seen by all, falling from heaven on all the impiety and wickedness of men and women who deny the truth. 1 Samuel 2:10

For all that can be known about God lies plain before their eyes. His invisible power and divine nature are knowable to any reasonable mind, so all are without excuse and their conduct is indefensible. Hebrews 11:6

Romans 1:21-32 These ungodly people know that there must be a Creator, but they refuse to acknowledge or give thanks to Him. So now, their thinking has become futile and their misguided minds are plunged into darkness. They claim to be wise, but they have just made fools of themselves. Psalms 14:1-3

Therefore God has given them over to all kinds of perversions and idolatries, while actually knowing God’s righteous decree that those who behave like this deserve to die, but they continue in their depravity and approve of the same conduct in others. Job 22:12-13

Romans 2:5-11 God’s kindness and patience is allowing us time to come to repentance, but if people refuse His gift of salvation, then on the Day of Retribution, all will be justly judged according to their deeds. His wrath awaits those who are governed by selfish ambition, who refuse obedience to the truth and who take evil for their guide. Isaiah 2:12, Isaiah 29:19-21, Isaiah 65:11-12

To both the Israelites and Gentiles who pursue glory, honour and immortality by living a righteous life, God will reward them with eternal life. Hosea 2:19                    God has no favorites.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 It is just that God should pay back those godless peoples and give the righteous relief. This will happen when [the power of] the Lord Jesus is seen in the sky in a blazing fire, punishment will fall upon all who do not obey the gospel and they will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated  from His presence. Isaiah 59:18

On that great Day, Jesus will come and reveal His glory amongst all believers in Him. Only revealed to His believers. Jeremiah 31:2-3, Revelation 14:1

Hebrews 10:26-27 For those who deliberately persist in sin while knowing the truth, there remains only the terrifying expectation of God’s judgement, of a fierce fire that will consume His enemies. Habakkuk 3:12, Malachi 4:1

2 Peter 3:7 & 10 On that Day, the Lord will come as a thief, the sky will disappear with a great roar and the earth will be devastated by fire. Zephaniah 3:8, Isaiah 34:2-4, Isaiah 66:15-17, Revelation 6:14, Jeremiah 30:23-24

Reference: REB. Some verses abridged and paraphrased.

None of these Bible quotes fit with or refer to the Return of Jesus in His glory, seen by all mankind, at the commencement of His Millennium reign. Revelation 19:11

It is an event before that, where the Lord makes ‘fire fall from heaven’, His great Day of Retribution against His enemies’. It is the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath, the next prophesied event, the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster, that we can expect.

It will be a terrible punishment by fire, that will punish the ungodly, a massive explosion of the suns surface, which will firstly devastate the Middle East, but also dramatically affect the whole world. Psalms 83, Micah 4:1

I would like to be a listening ear, for people to understand what you are telling them they need to understand why the reference to Romans.    1:18-20 and Romans 1:21-32.

Why?

And what 1 Samuel 2:10 has to do with the Romans in Romans 1: ?

What's wrong with those people, Jesus loves them does he not?

Jesus Christ wants to be their Judge is this not how the Love of God is pour out to all the people of the world?

And oddly enough, from all that Josephus brings into light of the pure tyrannical slaughtering of a people, he never mentions [1. we know Nero was never in Jerusalem 2. the Slaughter was led by Titus and his father {soon to take Nero's position as Emperor} 3. NO ONE is described by Josephus to have sat on the (physical Throne) and proclaimed to the "Entire World" as being God Himself].

And as tragic the specifics may be, the slaughtering of just over a million Jews falls horrifically short of the Events of Noah's Day.   Therefore, we know from greater military slaughters from 70 A.D. until today that make this scene look like children's play.  Which reveals to us, we have "yet" to witness the [Great Tribulation] unlike the Earth has ever seen before {very words of Christ}!

I dont want to read those things but will take your word for it...sounds like the devil just completely took over, God gave people over to the devil completely.  Transgression come to the full?  It can happen again though, and does happen.  Look at Stalin and the holocaust and ISIS.

This seems to be not in the flow of the conversation right now but might pertain to the OP and be helpful with that discussion, even though I suspect it could also open another can of worms in other directions.

Is it possible many prophecies are still partially pending because Daniel's people and the holy city Jerusalem rejected the Messiah/Jesus at His first coming...?  Would that make sense?  We are still awaiting the fulfillment of Christ's kingdom on earth...it was 'supposed' to happen with His first coming, but that didn't work out entirely because Israel rejected Him at that time (all foreseen by God however).  Could that factor into these things?  Here below is the train of thought on this:

Isa 49:4 (regarding Jesus)

Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.

We see a parable with Jacob and Rachel and Leah....how Jacob being a type of Christ came first for Israel (Rachel) but ended up with the Gentiles (Leah) after seven years labour, and then had to labour a second time (second coming?) for another seven years in order to finally get Rachel (Israel), before being able to set up his own household (kingdom) away from his father in law (Satan.  Jesus saying of certain unbelieving Jews ye are of your father the devil).  Plan A didn’t work out, so on to Plan B (times of the Gentiles) until the time comes to revisit Plan A.

And the story of Ruth is a picture of the Gentile believers restoring the Son to Israel (Naomi)...partially happening now through evangelizing, but also awaiting complete fulfillment. (More to say about this story another time if the Lord is willing.)

Rth 4:11

And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel (both together form the Israel of God, kingdom of God, New Jerusalem, heavenly Zion): and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem (pointing to Jesus)

So are we (and more importantly, God) waiting for Israel to finally receive her true Messiah before the kingdom of Christ is fully set up on earth?  Well, let’s look at this:

Rom 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Rom 11:29-34

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

Rom 11:15

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? (appears to be alluding to the resurrection of the dead, pointing to the end)

Mat 23:37-39

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

“See! Your house is left to you desolate;

“for I say to you, you shall see Me no more TILL you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!  (pointing to His second coming!)

Zec 12:8-10

In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Partially fulfilled with His first coming, yes (according to the gospel of John), but not completely fulfilled until the return of the Lord:

Rev 1:7-8

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

At which time the kingdom of God will be restored to Israel...at the restitution (restoration) of all things.  Plan A finally having been accomplished and Jacob finally obtaining his beloved Rachel after all.   Prophecies concerning Israel that have not been completely fulfilled yet (on hold) will be completely fulfilled at the return of Christ, so that is why we see those same prophecies are also speaking of the return of Christ and the conditions surrounding His return....?  Well, praise the Lord, for He is worthy, but please test this prayerfully and see if there might be any consensus on it, it has been on my heart for a little while, but I get overwhelmed with all the details in Daniel and Revelation.

I'll toss in a second and separate thought to your post.

Read the Ancient Greek and then Ancient Roman descriptions of the events that took place as the military(s) of these Ancient Nations battled, slaughtered, tortured, viewed WAR/KILLING as a game, invented new ways to kill people slower, made makeshift crosses [that is not new but is described in most of the Roman battlefields/cities conquered/etc].

By 70 A.D., these Roman Soldiers had skilled their trade in every facet.  If they lived or died they were promised LAND of their own within the Roman Empire that they saw for themselves or was passed to the Soldiers family.   They had no fear.   This was a job.   And they were so good at it they grew bored and became Creative in how they chose to leave a Battle Scene!

Ancient People's were [Vile] just like today.   But what a [serial killer] gets away with today [50 murderers], as Ruler of these Ancient Empires, they got away with MILLIONS.

Read King David!

The man was asking God to kill anyone he hated and especially hated God.

Bloodshed was the only way they saw solving their problems.   And 70 A.D. Destruction of Jerusalem enlightens us to just [how] powerful and skilled the Roman Empire was.  And they took their sweet ole time doing it.   It was a Sport!   Soldiers betting amongst themselves who gets the best kill and the most kills total.   This was their Life, this was normal for them, it was their Job!   They even loved doing it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
