I was just telling God how there were too many people to pray for and i heard a voice in my head say "pray by my Spirit". To me this referred to how Gods Spirit prays for us without words but groanings. But was this Gods way? And was it His voice? Maybe it was just a random thought? Some people have problems with random thoughts popping up in their mind. They suffer with it, and i personally dont recommend listening to voices in ones head. I listen with my heart. I believe Gods Spirit does communicate with us without words other than reminding us of scripture when needed. Anyway, what a topic, im sure its not the first time this came up or the last. What's your opinion?

I was just feeling condemned for posting this. What's that about? I see nothing wrong with the OP. Do you? I tell myself to not fear but to walk boldly in Gods grace. Thats my answer. I will walk boldly and not fear and i will wait on the Lord to strengthen me and restore my soul.

There are an enormous number of people needing prayer.

We need to be disciplined in how we approach intercessory prayer.

One method is in a church to device the world up, so volunteers pray regularly for certain countries or people groups.

To have defecated prayer meetings for each of the churches missionaries and causes they support.

Prayer diaries are a way of helping one regulate who and when one prays.

But above all a spirit that is sensitive to the prompting of the Spirit is vital.

Duncan Campbell tells the story of while he was on a Scottish island he went to visit an elder of the church. Only to be told by his wife he couldn't be disturbed as he was in the bard praying.

He waited, visiting the wife and when the elder appeared asked him about it. To be told, The Lord laid it on my heart to pray for Greece, so I did.

There are many stories he told about prayer.

Whyme quote ["Some people have problems with random thoughts popping up in their mind."] quote

2nd Corinthians 11:14, "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light".

Satan will even appear in our thoughts trying to make us think it is the Holy Spirit speaking to us.

That's why there are so many believing they are Christians when they followed a false doctrine of salvation lead by the voice of Satan, and not by the word of God.

We have to learn who is speaking to us, by knowing the truth of God's word, so we can discern the voice of Satan from God's voice, when we here that small voice or have a strong impression of being spoken to and maybe even being lead.

If you follow the wrong voice of doctrine, no matter how much you believe your a Christian, you will still go to hell because you didn't do research to find the truth - Your choice and your fault for being to lazy or too involved in the things of the world, and/or listening to false teachers and not questioning the validity of their words..

Thank you. I was struggling with this issue a bit. The irony is that i experienced what i wrote about in the OP. I endured a difficult battle of the mind after writing it. It brought tears to my eyes as i searched for comforting scriptures to guide my thoughts. Im not sure if its spiritual warfare or just mental illness. I am on meds but im sane. I know right from wrong and i experience Gods joy and peace as well. But i do struggle with battles of the mind. All is good however, God loves me and helps me. He may not take away my affliction but somehow it works good i think. Its humbling for one thing. It shows Gods grace too. God doesn't forsake me even though im different than others. His grace sustains me like it did Paul with his thorn in the side. Pauls thorn could have just been persecution, but this is mine i think. Im no Paul but his example is comforting.

We probably all spend a lifetime trying to understand when God is communicating with us, and what he is saying. His communications will be consistent with what he and Jesus told us in the Bible. If we are in constant prayer, as Paul taught (1 Thessalonians 5:17), we will learn more quickly.

I have found that in many cases in my life the message I got from God in verbal form was, "Don't do that" in relation t something was doing or about to attempt.   He kept me from being across the street from the Federal Building when Tim McVay blew it up.  No one who was in that lot lived over it that I am aware of.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
