What are you trusting God for?

If you are trusting in what Jesus has done for you, then you do not have to worry about who you are trusting or in what you are trusting.

Jesus is completely trustworthy.

However if you are trusting in God for physical health, or for a partner, or for a well paid job, for physical safety.

Then you should think about what Romans 8:28 All things work together for the good of those who are called according to God's purpose. Actually means.

If you are trusting God, then all things are working for your good, literally what ever happens is intended to strengthen your relationship with God, for that is your and my alttimate good.

Don't confuse salvation, a one time gift, with sanctification, a process of becoming (a little) more like Jesus. Christians will not be without sin/morally perfect until they meet Jesus in person to be changed (Raptured).

TRUST Jesus ONE TIME for salvation = saved Christian aka born again Christian

TRUST Jesus for daily needs/trials/growth/faith, etc. = being sanctified aka Christlike aka growing as a Christian--all Christians sin and stumble until the Rapture, the "blessed hope"

I'm not sure I understand this. How would you be unwittingly putting your trust in something else?

FP, do you study the Bible daily? I've said this before in response to several of your topics, but there is no substitute for that. That is how God speaks to us and teaches us. Who he is, how to trust him, why you should trust him...Scripture contains the answers to your worries and questions and confusion.

Though I completely agree with your post and I think it's pretty well said, I'd change "raptured" to "their earthly body dies", which is what will bring the change to most people. In fact, even if they are raptured...

I feel the Gospels are written for non-believers and believers, while the rest of the NT is written for believers. I believe there are two messages in the NT:

1. Salvation from "death due to sin".

2. How to live your life in harmony/synch/rhythm with God's plan for mankind.

I trust Christ completely for number one. I'm constantly working on number two. And it's a challenge because he gave me a brain and a body. I'm not supposed to just trust God to lift the fork and put the food in m mouth. I'm supposed to act. I'm supposed to think. I'm supposed to use the body he's temporarily placed me in - and for His glory.

I think it helps to pray a lot. Talk things over with him.

How do I trust God?  I practices His word.  I apply it to my problems and do what it says to do.  When I have a problem I pray about it.  As I see Him answer other prayers, I am able to trust Him for more difficult situations.  We had prayed for some time for grandson to get his college degree.  On Wednesday he learned that he had passed his last tests which qualify him for his degree.  Praise God!  On the same day he learned he had passed his states tests which qualify him for a license to do his job.  Praise God again.  On Thursday we learned that his mother has something show up in her mammogram.  Her mother died of breast cancer so she is terrified.  That is satan causing that terror.  We have rejoiced and asked that there be nothing to find when they check again.  However, I have confidence that whatever the outcome is, God will walk through it all with her.  I am determined to focus on Jesus and whatever is good and lovely and of good report, knowing that God is going to work it all out for her good.  She and her family love the Lord.  So we rejoice in the Lord, knowing that He is near.   We don't fear cancer.  We fear and trust in God.  That is faith.

Just turn your question into a prayer. Pray and ask God to do a work in your life to trust Him. We know this is His will for us: "And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14,15)

I know when God gives me understanding, because then I understand in ways I never could on my own apart from Him.

It used to be that I could never find my car/house keys.  Now I can never find my fire stick remote.  After searching for hours I remembered to pray, and before I had ended my prayer I saw it!!!  Thank You Jesus!  Thank You for helping me with all these little cares as well as the big ones.   Bless Your Name.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
