Indeed. God is not looking for our ability, but our availability. Surely if he wants for a job He will equip us to perform.

Known as God's Tool Box:

1Co 1:26-31  For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

  • (27)  but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise.
  • God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
  • (28)  and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,  (29)  that no flesh should boast before God.

(30)  Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:  (31)  that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."

eg. David v. Goliath, Mustard Seed, Crucifixion.

Sure.

Just saying there r many smart clever n rich people in this world, God didnt use.

unfortunately there are plenty of Christians whose response to a question is " just have faith!" as if that is the only possible response.

Often lead by preachers who teach that because they cannot teach how to respond intelligently.

Reread acts with a view to noting just how often it is mentioned that they debated with the Jews, proving that Jesus was the Christ and that he must suffer etc.

Why does Paul say that we are to defeat every contrary view, idea etc

None of this is by faith but by knowledge of the Bible and through reasoning.

Yes we need faith, faith in the historical facts of Jesus' death and resurrection.

As Paul say in Corinthians if Jesus is not raised from the dead, we are still in our sins.

No literal factual resurrection there is no Christianity.

Is biblical knowledge intellectual? Or is it more of a moral guide in Spirituality? Its full of knowledge but if knowledge is intellectualism than a plumber is an intellectual. I dont know, just pondering it.

God uses all kinds of people. He used a lawyer, a fisherman, a tax collector.

The fact that God chose to send Jesus to a small manger as the very first place He would be should say something about His approach to us. The fact that Jesus ministered to and healed what society would consider to be the lowliest of men (and women) should show us He made the decision long ago to come in the back door of society. He was not to be found in palaces until he was taken to Pilot. Jesus works from the bottom up with only a few notable men who He dealt with. His focus was on the "common" man.

This does not change once we are in heaven. God said to the thief on the cross. This day you shall be with me in paradise. He didn't say, "Hey after we get to heaven I'll hook you up with my servants to take care of you". No, He made it personal.

I have been in the company of many men society looks up to and you know what? Once you get past the facade, the title and the money they are just like any other man. They need the Lord, they have many of the same concerns and problems. They have families and many of the same day to day concerns.  They get sick, they die.

I believe God calls all men, smart, no so smart, rich, poor and everything in between, yet Jesus Himself is a man who loves all men. To him who much is given much is expected. Intellect is a gift as any other and should be used to glorify God. God can use all men who submit to Him.

Matt 11:29-

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

We are all different so the Lord says-

2 Cor. 10:12

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Only God knows the measure of a man. It has nothing to do with credentials, intellect or education.

He will use whatever we have if we will get out of the way.

"Is biblical knowledge intellectual?"

I believe Whyme, the bible is the word.
It is light/truth. God is light.

"Thy 'word' have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee"

Downloading the light of the word chases out darkness, the lies of the enemy.
More light in the hard drive(mind), less darkness. True thinking evolves.
It is smart, for any IQ level..

Would work on Einstein, or a little child.

Thanks Whyme.......

There is nothing degrading about the profession of being a plumber.  Furthermore, I have the utmost respect for anyone's work no matter if it's considered to be "prestigious" or not.

My goodness, i was not degrading plumbers. Show me where i did that please. They have knowledge and skill same as others do, i was just saying having plumbing knowledge doesnt make you intellectual. My point being not all knowledge is considered intellectualism. I feel as if you are falsely accusing me of degrading others.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
