@Alive my brother.

Salt and light are both BEAUTIFUL gifts from our maker, to share with a dark hurting world with no hope, just as we once were.

Now I have true hope, and everlasting happiness and joy that I can pass on to others, as a dear friend did for me many years ago.

I see the struggles of becoming SALT and LIGHT, and yes it continues to be a struggle at times as I'm challenged in new ways, as not only goals and commands, but true privileges, because God has chosen to trust us with His word and trusted us to do our best in His love with those He brings to us to be salt and light for HIM and by Him for them.

My name is Arrabon

There is an aspect of salt that it is cleansing, purifying...and that this part can sting.  I think that is sometimes what draws hostility from some folks...persecution.

Mal 3:1-3

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

We believers are to be Salt and Light thru Yeshua to the lost. "Go and make disciples..." were His last words before ascending.

Understanding that all believers are to be salt and light should give us a desire to shed our  timidity and pray for a boldness in the spirit to bring the light to those living in darkness. I do not have the ability to confront total strangers with the good news, without the spirit enabling me. And he does, especially when I pray for the courage.
Those who hesitate may be amazed, with the spirit before you, how easily the words flow. "Hey, you want to hear some good news.  Jesus loves you!" Simple..
It's Light.   (God is light)

The answer to my question as to why the Lord leaves us here should not be human centric, but God centric. The answer is to accomplish His will. What it is that He desires.

What is it that He desires?

In the end, the REMNANT  of Messianic Jews (Not the nation of Israel) and the REMNANT of true believers will be brought together to form one group of true believers in Christ. See verses below.

Ephesians 2:11-22

Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ

11"Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made 2 groups one, and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

Yes, lovely verses.....we are one in the Saviour...Jew and Gentile believers...pulling down that dividing wall happened when Jesus died and rose again.

True miss muffet, though I believe there is room for grace as the Lord takes into account our need to grow.

That is true He knows all of our weaknesses. Although we will be judged for what we did for the Lord while we were on this earth.

1 Corinthians 3:15

If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

What is it that He desires?

"What is it that He desires?"

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.     Matthew 28:19

“‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.”    Matthew 4:19-20

“‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’”
Acts 1:8

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
Romans 10:14–15    (so cool)

Thought to start a thread about being salt and light....what does this mean?  How are we to live as Christians in this world and what kind of vision should we have.  Anyone have any thoughts on this..?

It seems to me that if we obey the Lord's commandments, we will accomplish what the Lord wants us to accomplish.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
