I believe the spirit of (the) (A)ntichrist is responsible for a lot more than just denying that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, although by doing this the floodgates of iniquity are flung wide open.

1Jn 2:18  Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

1Jn 2:22-23  Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.  (23)  Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

1Jn 4:2-3  By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,  (3)  and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
 

2Jn 1:7  For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

The `beast,` 7th leader is a man. Satan influences him or takes him over. We need to remember that the angels and fallen angels are part of the unseen, (to our eyes) invisible realm. (Col. 1: 16) Thus they need to possess some one to be able to move in this physical world. And who better than some one who has become the Global leader.

Why the Father allows this? Well God is showing that no angel or man is able to righteously rule - anywhere. God is allowing the final Gentile world rulership as it comes to a great climax of the ages, with people all over having to decide who they will worship - Satan or God.

God is so merciful that, remember, throughout the judgments that come on the world there is a great multitude that no one can count that turn to God amid, great hunger, thirst and heat.

Such mercy, such long suffering, such love.

Isaiah 33.. so when the destroyer that could not be destroyed finishing destoying he will be destroyed.

The traitor that wasn't betrayed. 

If you read the history of kings. Gods people turned away would start being barbarians. He put them in the hands of the destroyer.. that get tired of sin. Call on God. He would send  King to deliver them. Then that king would die. Then they would sin again chase after other gods. Make a huge mess of everything, repent . Call on him again, with love and comppsion he answered raise up  king and destroy their enemy. Then that king would die. And on and on. Till he established the throne for ever with Christ. So nations rage, sinfull are making messes out of everything. Jesus or King protects Gods People and eventually will destroy the destroyer  and usher in his kingdom with his people. 

I think its kinda cool over and over looks like enemy has won and then suddenly❤

So your take is that the pressure brought to bear is to turn the unbeliever toward belief in salvation through Christ?

Is that all?

It's a bit general, yes? Just a quick look in the paper or online reveals an even bigger anti-Christ religion in Islam. And what of Buddhism? Shinto? And a dozen others? Even Christianity is anti-Christ in some sectors.

I don't know if I could attribute anti-christ status[as in THE antichrist] to popery.

You don't agree there is one major opposer of Christ in all blasphemy and self exaltation popularly called The Antichrist, but known in scripture as the beast, that is yet to come?
