What is it the meaning of your name?

•    Zeph 1:4 -> “So I will stretch out My hand against Judah
And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the names of the idolatrous priests along with the priests.”.

Why the Creator emphasizes Jerusalem? If He will stretch His hand against Judah, obviously, this includes Jerusalem, inasmuch as it is Judah’s capital.

What it comes in my mind is that the Creator would go to punish all the land of Judah and, in particular, all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. That is to say, all inhabitants of Judah would go to suffer in virtue of the disturbance of the land (for instance, earthquake, hurricanes, etc.). But the inhabitants of Jerusalem, beyond this, will suffer some direct nemesis (for instance, illness, death, familiar troubles, etc.).

The Creator would also remove, not only the priests, but also their names. Why was this so important? Because the Creator wishes to cut the evil in its root. The name of somebody or something makes us to recollect of them. In this case, in particular, imagine if the priest did something notable. He would become a god and these idols, the way of reaching the blessing.

It comes the question: what does your name means for people around you? Your name is synonym of blessing or cursing? When your name is pronounced, are you a reason for laugh, criticism, disturbance, annoyance, hatred, or a reason for peace, elation, love and, specially, for stirring up somebody to repent, convert (see 1Cor 15:29)?

So, have a good day inspiring many people to approach of Jesus and being so beautiful and kind like Him.
