This is an area that I believe the Lord is highlighting. Recently we have been seeing many come to the Lord out of new age, sexual perversion, etc and those areas of sin become open doors for demons. In the bible, they cast out demons. It was a common practice in the Gospels and the book of acts. As these people come to Jesus, they often need deliverance.

In the bible, it was a practice in the church to cast them out.  If the church neglects this, then the demons stay. God can  and does deliver people in His sovereignty, but many times believers are bound up by the enemy because they have a demon attached to their life.

Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

When I came to Jesus, I suffered 6 years from demonic nightmares, things touching me, addictions, depression and suicidal thoughts. I couldn't break free. I went to pastors and they would either not know what to do or tell me I couldn't have a demon. I was delivered when I surrendered everything, turned from sin and got filled with the fire of God 13 years ago and I've been on fire ever since.

The Holy Spirit and demons do not mix. If a person genuinely has the Holy Spirit it is impossible for them to have a demon.

Agreed...believers can have demonic strongholds in their life that requires deliverance in many cases.  There are many believers that are in bondage to demonic addictions such as: pornography, sexual additions, drugs, alcoholism, etc...    I believe when someone truly believes they are set free at the moment, but over time they open doors to allow these demonic strongholds back into their life and are bound again by the enemy and these strongholds become even more stronger than before they were set free.

"When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. "Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds [it] empty, swept, and put in order. "Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation." - Mat 12:43-45

Hi Joshua,

Those days were before Jesus died and was resurrected, when Pentecost came, people who accepted Jesus as their Savior were filled and sealed with the Holy Spirit, the people who came to Jesus before Pentecost were not set free through the Holy Spirit, when God sets us free we're free indeed. I do believe believers can be oppressed but not possessed.

I agree angels. We as believers can be harrassed by Satan and his demons but not possessed.

That's the rub with some people Muffet.   They don't seem to understand the difference in harassed or have a demon attached to them and full possession.     I can assure you that if you are a born again Christian there is a dark force who's job title is to move things in your way and do all the demonic world can do to keep you from growing and helping others.

If there is any sin left in your life they will attach onto that and are very hard to get loose from.   They can't make you do things but they can constantly put things in your way.

Yes, spiritual warfare. There is a dark battle going all around us that we can't see. Satan studies us and knows all of our weaknesses. He sure can harrass us on those issues.

Can you give me a verse that makes that distinction? I can see multitudes coming to the Church to get set free acts 5:16, articles of Paul's clothing handed out to cast out demons Acts 19:12 along of many other examples in the book of Acts. What we see in Acts is that deliverance was a common practice through out. Today, many believers just say a prayer and go to church but never get those things dealt with. Because the church has neglected this ministry, many people play with witchcraft, sexual sin, etc and they are still in bondage after they put faith in Jesus.

I can honestly say I had demons for the first 6 years of my christian life and no one was able to help because of ignorance on this topic. I came out of witchcraft where I let demons speak through me and when I became a believer, those demons came against me for 6 years. I was tormented with suicidal thoughts, demonic dreams, feeling things touch me. I had faith in Jesus, I believed He died on the cross and rose from the dead, I trusted in Him for salvation, was I a believer for those 6 years or was I only saved when I was delivered? I personally experienced a demon inside me leaving my body by the power of the Holy Spirit.

For the last 12 years I've been seeing deliverance and especially the last 3 years I've seen a dramatic increase of deliverance, we also have been fasting and praying as a Church for a greater anointing and watching God answer our prayers. When I do deliverance, I make it clear that this means making Jesus King over their lives and if they don't know Him I have them receive Jesus as their Savior, if they don't want Jesus, then I will not cast out the demons. Them receiving Jesus, does not automatically make them free. After they pray and commit their lives to Jesus, repent of sins that opened the door, then I cast them out by the Holy Spirit.

Many believers have said the prayer but still have demons tormenting them and it's a lie from the pit of hell to say they can't have demons. It's sad because when believers who love God experience freedom, it's a beautiful thing and they often become some of the most on fire believers you'll meet.

Now, in the bible it was common practice. 1/3rd of Jesus ministry was casting out demons, through out the book of acts they cast out demons, where is that in the average church today? If casting out demons was necessary for Jesus, for the disciples, is it necessary for us today>

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
