Psalm 27 is a place that I go to often: the psalmist's words here have such relevance for me. It is as though the Lord included it just for me.

:-)

Psa. 27:1 (KJVS)   The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Psa. 27:7 (KJVS)   Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. 9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. 11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. 12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. 13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Yes, sir, there have been times here lately that I want to throw a pity party and invite everyone to the party. What an attitude, huh? Then I eventually get around to thinking about what many of the patriarchs, apostles, and all the martyrs endured for Christ’s name. Then I get a reality check of the woe is me mindset.

Then I get around to thinking about the Bible verses you listed and a few more. Just like when your mother kissed your boo-boo when you fell. All better now

Alive thanks for sharing this. Much needed. God bless you and yours. Thanks, Frank.
Sidenote: Psalm 91 has stayed with me since I was young in Sunday school. It was the Good News translation. It just always stuck with me. Thanks again.

These trials that I am going through seem to bring out the worst in me.  It is one thing after another and I pray and expect a good outcome and then I feel blindsided by another trial.  I feel ashamed that I become so despondent.  Then I ask for forgiveness and move forward.  I desire to do and be better.

Alive, thank you so much for starting this much-needed thread. It's especially important now that we're in the midst of these latter days.  When we're feeling overwhelmed and sorrowful, we need to recall our Father's promises for eternity.

Rev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Can we even begin to picture what this will be like?  There will be no more suffering, disease, war, death, or dying.  Indeed, it will be like heaven on earth! :)

(5) And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

1 Cor. 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Yes--it does seem timely. The Lord knows. I have something to report that is on target.

I won't get into details, but the last 4 years have been particularly difficult for us what with great betrayal from those we love (family) and huge financial loss with our entire retirement plan wiped out to start again with nearly nothing. We moved across country to take care of my wife's mom after her Dad passed only to be betrayed again.

The greatest burdens have been the tragedy of all of that back home and how a reaping of what what sown has been occurring and more. Forgiveness has never been an issue there as the Lord has been faithful in that regard.

We are OK and the Lord has miraculously provided for us. Truly.

Last evening, I was terribly weary and went to bed early at 8pm, but could not find sleep. I lay there for literally hours in  prayer and pressing in to the Lord. Facing my own many mistakes and sins and praying for the others and many things. God felt far from me, but after a long time and bringing this scripture to the Lord: Heb. 4:16 (KJVS) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The Lord allowed me to break through and find a peace and joy that has been abscent for some time, now.

After 4 1/2 hours, I found sleep and woke refreshed, not in the weariness of body, but in a lightness of Spirit.

There is no doubt in my mind, that the Lord is faithful and that these seasons, are for our own good and those in our sphere.

We are pressed, but never forsaken. Never are the trials more than what He requires to accomplish His will in us.

Take heart, brethren. He is our God! All things work toward our good.

The storm passes, the clouds clear away and the Son shines.

Praise His Name! Thank you Lord.

I can relate to praying and trying to 'break through'. I'm still at a place where I haven't really broken through on some concerns completely.

I don't feel useful any more in what I once found great pleasure in. I often see no need to continue doing what I do and often here of late, I just sit in front of a distraction because I figure none of it matters anyway.

The honeymoon at my 'new' church has worn off and I see many of the same things we see in probably most churches.  I am just tired of 'big church' in general and  If it weren't for my wife who seems to really be enjoying it and who has made many friends, I would probably pull out and go back to a smaller assembly. Titles and committees and requirements to do this or that and family ties etc etc etc. It seems more like man driven church than God driven church to me. I'm at the point now where I care less and less.

God has ways of pulling us out of our stubborn fleshly slumps( I am referring to me). I just don't want to play the game any more and that's scary. I get out of bed and my legs work and I can be somewhere I'm supposed to be, but inside I'm just not caring about much of anything any more.  Call me Eyore lol.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
