As a Christian in this evil world we have a choice to vote or not to vote. We are just in this world not of this world.

Reading all your responses and thoughts, you have every right to them, and everyone thinks differently. The way I see it:

Are we Christians to sit on our collective hands and let evil prevail? The Holy Spirit is the "Restrainer," restraining what, evil. The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, and collectively we are the bride of Christ, the church that is to restrain evil. How do we do that under our form of government? Intercessory prayer, discern, be educated, and with our feet, elect an official that most closely represents our morals and values.

Should the church remain silent, stay out of the affairs of God's ordained government, and let abominations like abortion, gay rights, etc. be the law of the land? As Christians and a church, we also have a choice to share the Gospel or not, follow God's commands or not, and be good stewards or not.

We are living at the end of time Laodicean church age; what Jesus says about the church's attitude in our day would apply to politics also.

Revelation 3:15 (KJV) I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

As a patriotic American and veteran, I get too heated discussing my secular thoughts on opposing views. Our Salvation was bought and paid for by the blood and sacrifice of Jesus at the Cross. By the providence of God, our freedom and form of government was earned and maintained by the blood, sweat, and tears of so many. Biblically as well as today, freedom is not free.

So, I'll insert a few quotes from those wiser than I:

"We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate." ―Thomas Jefferson, Former U.S. President and Founding Father of the U.S.

"Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."[ii]

― Abraham Lincoln

"Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education."[iii]

― Franklin D. Roosevelt

Well i couldn't find a "political" sub forum so am sorry if this was the wrong place to post it but my question was basically about why so many Conservative Christians have always loved Trump so much who may believe in God/Christ but doesn't really openly profess it or witness to others about his "faith",  such as people like Ted Cruz and Mike Pence who both have gotten such a bad rap? I believe he may have once claimed to be a "non-denominational Christian" but he is not at all outspoken about it. Anyway was just curious why everyone is so enamored with him and if he did decide to run again i still would probably end up voting for another Republican candidate, but just my opinion. And also i know he has probably been misjudged and mistreated by some of the things that the Left has been doing but at the same time i just find it very hard to sympathize with a Billionare, but guess that's just me.

Its called the Halo Effect. If people like one thing about someone, we tend to blind ourselves to the negative aspects of their personality.

Think like how we see someone who is attractive and we ignore how nasty their personality is or when we like a celebrity and refuse to believe the bad things they have done or were accused of- eg like how Michael Jackson's fans protested outside of his trial even though they hadnt heard any evidence or ever met him.

Same thing with Trump, he supported some "Christian" policies and embarassingly,   some Christians blinded their eyes to  or excused the various very unchristianlike things he did

Why do you say that? Please give me some examples that have been proven. Not just conjecture.

Well i have no problem with someone voting for the best candidate but the thing is once Trump really got rolling then you barely even heard Ted Cruz's name mentioned even by Christians. And i never actually saw the Evangelical voting percentages or if they  are even accurate but i would bet a majority of them voted for Trump simply for his charisma alone and before he had even proved himself, or maybe they just thought Cruz couldn't win, or would have lost to Hillary?  But personally i would feel almost obligated to vote for a professing believer, but that's just me.

Hi thanks.. "but doesn't really openly profess it or witness to others about his "faith",  This is so far from the truth. He is saved has talked about his faith.. maybe not on TV (media) White house. Yet many could say the same thing about most of us. One has to just ask those preachers he had come back more then 3 time I think  As of late he just said "I only bow to one God and Him alone".

Boy I'm learning a lot about Christians here.

May I ask you a personal question, Slibhin?

How is it you fell in love with and married a Christian against your strict faith?

Again, I am so very sorry for your loss. And if this is too much too soon, I will

definitely butt out.

My point, I suppose, is:

doesn't the fact that you married this man who belonged to this weirdo cult / faction (Christianity in the eyes of orthodox Jews)

indicate that something greater than both Christianity and Judaism is going on here?

Love.

God is love.

And what fallen sinful natured human beings do with what LOVE personified (traditions and rules and regulations and denouncing this or that)...

shouldn't that be more suspect than what LOVE personified proves to be in the Tanakh as well as the New Testament?

We can point to the errors of man in both camps to a fare thee well.

Romans 3:4 (AV)
... let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Tehillim 51:

1610682302_Ps51.jpg.c6f8cdffc865235f889494e8ccb1f0be.jpg

You maybe learning a lot about Christians (flawed and human as we are) but dare you learn about the Christ your husband believed in?

Getting back to the topic...

Old timers like myself are witnesses to how drastically America has changed over the last 50 + years.

While there were several cultural obstacles to overcome, America was well on the path to overcome them.

Civil rights for one.

The obstacles to overcome are not unique to America but rather to humankind itself dating back thousands of years.

Overcoming these obstacles (like racism and sexism) have been slow progress, but progress was accomplished indeed.

Donald Trump was the first Republican (to my knowledge) to address and include LGBTQ people into conservative thinking and voting.

He also championed (and instituted) real / tangible programs and funding to help build inner city / African American neighborhoods and

higher education systems (rather than only promising to do so as the Democrats have always done).

Trump was a womanizer of opportunistic females but a promoter of women in equal rights and equal pay and equal job opportunities.

He was not / is not perfect. Obviously. But no one is. Only Jesus is perfect.

What amazes me the most about Donald J. Trump is how he legally built a real estate empire in Manhattan, New York (the virtual home field of corruption)

from the few million dollars his father Fred left him.

If it wasn't legitimate / legal the way he built it, the opposition media and news papers would have exposed it.

Quite the narcissist,  no one pats his back more than he does. So what? He does what he says and what his goal is... is honesty and patriotism.

I was amazed by how much President Trump accomplished despite the daily assault by the Globalists, media, courts, education system, and Democratic politicians and judges round the clock.

Trump set out to make America great (again). America itself has been under attack by Globalists, Communists, and antagonists of all kinds from outside and from within.

Alexis De Tocqueville wrote about America in 1832 identifying "this tendency as the greatest threat to liberty because of the possibility of such apathy leading to tyranny." De Tocqueville perceived the United States as egalitarian, individualistic, decentralized, religious, property loving, and lightly governed.

In the words of the founding fathers, this kind of government could only be sustained by a moral people.

Alexis de Tocqueville said “America is great because America is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”

I personally have seen Americans ceasing to be good over the last 50 + years.

  • The Bible used to be taught in public education but was tossed and is a forbidden subject in public schools
  • Creationism is forbidden in public schools while the THEORY of evolution is taught as fact
  • Prayer in school has been tossed
  • The patriarchal family unit has been under attack and false scrutiny
  • Fornication is promoted encouraged provided for and in every venue
  • Christ and Christianity is forced into religious meeting halls banned from the open square
  • Atheism / humanism is the preferred religion (The Supreme Court has recognized Atheism IS a religion (not just equivalent to) numerous times over the decades. The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled)
  • All religions except Christianity is popularized by the public as acceptable (including extremist religions)
  • Men, women, and children are exploited more than ever
  • Entitlements have replaced responsibility
  • Love of Country replaced by hatred of country
  • Divorce has run amok
  • Broken homes are almost as numerous and unbroken homes
  • The stabilizing middle class is under assault ← and when vanquished, who will bear the burden of taxes for the ultra rich (talk about shortsightedness).

The list is much longer but the point is clear. The Democratic Party never truly represented the working class, but was always precursor to the Communist undermining and take over of America. I, like so many (including Trump and Ronald Reagan), used to be a Democrat (falling for the common man supportive rhetoric) ← just like all Communist regimes claimed to "the PEOPLE'S Republic..." The Nazis were the Socialist Party.

18958062_CivilizationPendulum.jpg.f71aaf1f7e0cc18a70d9fd6532f87839.jpg

Fascism (the benefit of the elite as the expense of the many) is the extreme on BOTH sides.

The American dream / ideal is the balance of both at FREE ENTERPRISE where NEITHER extreme is give carte blanche.

Conservatism / Capitalism  is NOT perfect. But it is the least worst mankind has to offer (given the fallen sin nature of all human beings). And it is the system that the most people benefit from.

Donald Trump saw in 2015 that BOTH parties were allowing / enabling the dismantling of America (towards Communism: the preferred governance of Globalism) and he stepped up to do something about it while there was still a chance to try and stop the dismantling. He quickly learned how not only entrenched Globalists are, but how most of the media, most politicians, the judiciary, and the education system have been in the pockets of Globalists for a long time.

The ease with which the 2020 election was stolen (not to mention the corruption of the Bidens, Clintons, and the falsified charges against Trump) in the minds of many signal that the chance to try to stop the dismantling of America no longer exists. "We'll get America back in 2022 mid term elections" or in 2024 elections... assume the cheating at the ballot boxes, number of illegal aliens now in key positions to vote in swing States, Dominion software hacking, ballot box stuffing, mail in ballot stuffing, etc. will not be repeated in 20 22 / 2024.

What else? Another pandemic? Some nuclear power nation goes rogue? Will they stop at nothing to keep Trump out of the Whitehouse?

Russia Russia Russia... now the raid on Mar-a-Lago... two failed attempts to impeach...

Why?

When you find yourself on the popular opinion side, how many times in the past have you look back on it and realized you were being chumped? And that had you known what was really going on that you would have never fallen for the rhetoric? Baaaa baaaaa be a sheep baaaa ← on the way to the slaughter house.

Let's all pitch in our earnings and share them equally says the socialist.

Some don't do much to earn anything but believe they deserve the same as you who busted their fanny to earn what you received.

Others hide what they earned when it comes time to put it into the community pot to divvy up.

Some may take your home, your car, your clothes, your spouse, your children...

And when you have an opinion / objection, your freedom safety health or very life may be taken from you.

Is this really what progressives / liberals / socialists / Democrats want???

Or are they just like parroting sheep repeating what they are told to think is ideal and following along in lock step to the slaughter?

Unfortunately it's becoming the whole world. Part of the New World Order so talked about will most certainly be one huge police state eventually.

I notice many of the same things happening in many other countries.

Well actually living here is really not that bad at all, as long as you can simply ignore some of the very annoying soap-box type comments, but i guess in a free country everyone is entitled to there "opinions", including me. But to be honest sometimes all this rhetoric is so confusing that i can't really tell which side someone is on until they actually say it...?

After reading some of these threads I can only say I'm glad I don't live in the United States.

After God created earth and man, he and Peter were talking about the creation. He asked God "Why did you give Canada the most majestic scenery, lakes, rivers , trees and the greatest gifts of mankind? They live in paradise. Why so much good and no wrong?"

God replied "Wait until they get a load of their neighbors to the south."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
