Fortunately I was ticketed driving my personal vehicle, so my commander wasn't informed. The last thing a soldier wants is a traffic violation while operating a military vehicle...

Unless you're part of a convoy, of course. In that case, the senior ranking member takes the heat. :41:

What is old to you?

I know this wasn't asked of me, but I'll answer anyway.

When I was five, 12 seemed pretty old to me.

When I was 19, I thought 40 was over the hill.

When I was 40, 60 seemed too old. I figured I wouldn't make it that far anyway. :D

60 isn't that far away now, so I'm withholding judgement for the time being. ;)

Old is the condition of the mind.

Three cops stories.

A girlfriend from high school was coming home from work. It was about midnight and she was in her VW beetle. A cop put on his lights and stopped her and  she was confused because she was not speeding or doing anything that would alert a police. When he stopped her he said "Hey, there is a party. Do you want to go with me?". She said "No". That is that

I was newly divorced from my first marriage which was a disaster. I was in my early 20's and I had my daughter with me who was 3. We were going down the freeway on the way to the beach. Just the two of us going to the beach for a couple of days to get away from everything. I had just purchased a used Datsun. As I was headed down the freeway I noticed a cop behind me. He was behind me for quite a while. I noticed in my rearview mirror that he was combing his hair and then he put on this hat. He pulled me over and told me that my license was expired. I told him I had just purchased the car and was not aware of that he said. "Ok". That is that.

I worked with a woman who was going down the freeway on the way to work. She noticed a cop and he was traveling at least 10 miles over the speed limit. No lights or siren. She went up beside him and cruised down the freeway for awhile. He ended up pulling her over. He said" Did you know that you were going 10 miles over the speed limit?". She said " I was only cruising beside you officer". He did not have anything to say to that. They chatted about various things for a few minutes and they he took off. No ticket. That is that.

So, was what I said politically incorrect?

I don't think it is politically incorrect, just not very intelligent.   So much goes into making driving somewhat safe, and none of us is beyond making mistakes.  I've driven about two million miles in the past 60 years and I am as good a driver as I have been...   and a lot safer than I was in my teens and twenties.   Out of all those miles I have only hit one thing and I wasn't awake when I did that.

Long story, but I pulled over to take a nap late one night and got up in my sleep and was driving still not awake.

Basically it doesn't have anything to do with political or not.

I don't know where you live, but here in the central USA life can be difficult if one doesn't drive.

In the past ten years since we retired I've driven my wife and I all over the USA and part of Canada.  We, until covid came, were traveling 26 weeks a year; sometimes in the Winnebago and sometimes just in the car.  I also pilot a boat several weeks a year looking for fish to catch.

I've been known to fly my friends Beechcraft when he's in the plane also.

In my very biased and wholly silly opinion, I do not believe that people over the age of 70 should drive.  It is people that are virtually on the edge of death that are driving down motorways.

Can anybody here explain to me why I am a complete idiot for being concerned about 70 year olds on the motorway in cars?  Why am I politically incorrect for asking a question about this?

Well, you explained it yourself.  You are biased, in a negative way, and silly.

70?  Really?  My dad died at the age of 80 and he was a GREAT driver.

There are people of ALL age who should not be driving and people of all ages who are very competent drivers.

I'm curious as to how old you are.  And what makes you have this discriminatory opinion?

All human including christians have GALL inside them. Which is Greed Arrogancy Loathe and Lust and its up to us to follow it or to repent and resist it. Nobody is created holy and become holy without repentance.

Can repentance really make us holy?  Are we able to achieve it as in perfection? If we cannot overcome sin how do we become holy ?  There is an answer, but only one. Do you know the answer?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
