Amen....we need to balance out where it says God hardens who He will, against where it says He is willing that none should perish.

God's ways are not man's ways.

@Heleadethme Interesting that in John 6.37, for example, God's sovereignty and human responsibility are seen together in the same verse:

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

How is this so? maybe we can't quite grasp exactly how, but it's a blessing simply to receive what is revealed here in the words of the Lord Jesus.

Matthew 24:31, NIV: And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Matthew 24:31, ESV: And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24:31, KJV: And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

.........I am not sure what does that mean....I will only focus on the word "the Angels shall gather together his ELECT from the four wins...

****the question is who are the elect ....

This is not an easy question to answer the time Jesus was talking to them the elect of God were the Jews...they were the elect from all the other people of the world because they were the seed of Abraham...and they had the eligibility to be included in the Sinai Covenant...

So this is it ...when Jesus talked to them the Jews heard him... but did they heard him correctly or they heard what they liked to hear...applying things to themselves...someone might say "to whom else" God's only  children were the Israelites...because we are before the Cross...

The context there seems to be tribulation saints. A searching chapter.

Not sure why you can say that.. tribulation saints?

The scripture said that they will gather together his elect...

And not "the tribulation saints."

I mentioned it because in Matthew 24.21 it refers to a unique future event, not one which the church would seem to go through.

Why don't you post the scripture you are referring to...that's I do not understand...is there a problem to copy and paste the scripture to read it before you referred to it...or post it as you remember it...

Honestly, I am still blown away that I was chosen to be created in the image of God. Right there is an honor that blows my mind; spit on me, hate me, judge me, I could care less. I am human, and God put His stamp on me by creating me in His image. So out of all creation, I was elected to protect, honor, and uphold the gift of being in the image of God. If I ever had thoughts of more than that, I think of Adam. Adam just makes me cringe; in one fell swoop, he throws Eve under the bus, and points the finger at God for his sin. As a man, that is just embarrassing, to say the least. I wish Eve would have cut in, told God that she wanted to create a word that she calls "divorce", and Adam should pay for it with another rib so that a real man could launch the world. The first man, can't even "man up".  I do not have to get beyond the first two, and I am right back to blown away with being in the image of God. Nothing better to be, and I intend to keep it that way myself.

Then you are talking about something in Mathew 24:21 and I was posting in Mathew 24:30....

In any case how do you come to say that this is about a future even...suggesting that it has not taken place even in our times yet...something that still has to come...

Is there a special reason as to why it has to be a Future even?

Of course it is.  That's never been an issue.  At issue is to WHAT God chooses FOR.  And every verse that gives the reason, it is for service.  Every time.

Yes, God chooses people for service.

And below we have chapter one of Ephesians which tells us about what we are chosen for >

Ephesians 1

New International Version

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,

To God’s holy people in Ephesus,[a] the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In lovehe[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he[d] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

11 In him we were also chosen,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

In Ephesians 1:4 >

"He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love," > this is from the Bible I usually quote, the New King James Version, which has different wording than what Paula quotes above > but >

Both versions seem to say we are chosen to be holy and blameless before God. So, I would say, then, that being elect means being chosen to be holy and blameless before God, along with serving Him.

And for what did our Apostle Paul serve? >

"that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." (in Colossians 1:28-29)

So, Paul was chosen for the service of ministering us to become conformed to the image of Jesus.

And God chose this before the creation of this world > for us who are His elect >

"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29)

And why are the elect chosen to become like Jesus?

Because Jesus is >

"elect, precious",

we have in 1 Peter 2:6.

So, God's word says Jesus Himself is "elect" and "precious".

So, being truly elect has to do with how Jesus is and therefore Jesus is the One chosen by God . . . to serve our Father, but also because Jesus is so pleasing to our Father, being pleasing the way our Father has therefore chosen for us all to become.

And we have how the elect are chosen to relate > "as the elect of God" > Colossians 3:12-14.

And I fit this with how Jesus says for us to love one another as Jesus has loved us.

And so, also, we are chosen to relate as the example of Jesus means.

And so, serving ministers the grace which changes us to be and to relate like Jesus, I would say. And 1 Peter 4:9-10 says every one of us can minister God's grace.

And so the serving we are chosen for will produce what is deeper than outward actions only. While we do things in God's love, the effect of God's love is spreading deeper than our outward words and actions.

"Let all that you do be done with love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
