There are apostate movements of what they assume is the Holy Spirit.

The catch phrases of that apostasy for believers to watch out for is:

"Those who have a hunger for more of God.." is given to the assembly, appealing to saved believers to seek more of the Holy Spirit or more of that phenomenon that they are promoting whether it be another baptism of the Holy Ghost by that sign of tongues or "slain in the spirit" or the "holy laughter" movement or Pensacola Outpouring or the "Toronto's Blessings" or Asbury Revival or anywhere that mislead believes they can receive the Holy Spirit again after a sign in the flesh or feel His Presence outside of them in the worship place.

And yet Jesus said this for all saved believers that they would never hunger nor thirst again after they have been saved.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

That is why they are hungering for more of God; for more of that phenomenon, because they are not really coming to Jesus Christ at all.

Another catch phrase of apostasy is... "Let the Spirit fill you".

This takes their eyes off of the Son in worship to the "Spirit" which the indwelling Holy Spirit would never do, but keep pointing us to the Son in coming to God the Father in worship, prayer, & fellowship.

Antichrist as it is used in scripture means "instead of Christ" as in "instead of the Son" and so the spirits of the antichrist would come into the place of worship when the eyes are on the Holy Spirit in worship or in prayer or in fellowship to mislead them in chasing after them for a sign.

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

They will misuse this verse above as if the latter end of that verse is about presently seeking a filling of the Holy Spirit when it is about avoiding getting drunk, thus remaining sober as be filled ( past tense ) with the Holy Ghost.  We are not leaky vessel to seek a continual filling.

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Indeed, they will try to misuse this verse 13 below as if believers are supposed to ask for the Holy Spirit as often as they like, but they are not reading the whole message because verses 11-12 testifies that for the Father to avoid the appearance of evil for you to ask for the Holy Spirit again, He will give you the Holy Spirit the first time for knocking at the door of Jesus Christ at your salvation so you would never need to ask him again as if He did not give you the Holy Spirit the first time you had asked.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

We need His help to heed this warning below.

2 Corinthians 11:1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

So even if miracles are supposedly being done there like healings or casting out of devils; if it is not after Christ but after the rudiments of the world of receiving spirits after a sign, claiming this to be a move of the Holy Spirit in that place, do not go there.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. 27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. 28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Some will say that they believe the Holy Spirit is in them and yet believe they are receiving Him again in hypocrisy. So keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom, for He will be coming soon for the abiding bride of Christ as you are complete in Him as always filled with the Spirit.

Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Blessings to you ChristB4us

I'm not sure what you may have experienced or what youve been told about Pentecostals but I can assure you that what you have described is not an accurate depiction, sounds like you have a misconception about this denomination.

I just hope you may come to realize that there are Born Again Believers amongst many different church congregants - to make such accusations against all " Pentecostals" is wrong, your claims against these people are wrong

No doubt there are many within various church organizations that have not been Born Again but you must remember that the Indwelling of Holy Spirit is Christ Abiding in an individual, not a group of people....Father,Son & Holy Spirit are One- United by our Faith( not our church affiliations)we are a Body of Believers

The Body of Christ ,the Body of Believers that are out Brothers & Sisters bring Holy Spirit wherever we may go- you've described time & again a disorderly congregation, inappropriate conduct and basically a gathering of chaos & confusion- I've seen it,it's unacceptable and not the manner in which Paul instructs - do I dare accuse apostasy,Heaven's no!

I'm not Pentacostal, there are church customs & traditions I do not agree with, still they are my Brothers & Sisters and I Hear Jesus Jesus Jesus, the Name above every name being Preached at church services - no one worshipping Holy Spirit,we Worship Almighty God in Christ together, corporately

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience,please don't make these false allegations ....

With love in Christ, Kwik

One should be very careful of putting down the possible works of the Spirit....   mistakes concerning that are not forgivable.

The heart of the apostolic doctrine is how believers in a group setting establish themselves under the direction of the Lord, whether Ro 8/12, 1 Co 12-14 the book of Acts, which I have always felt should be called "Works of the Holy Spirit", which of course, manifest at the hand of the Lord's servants. So rather than laboring over apostasy, we should labor over doing all things in accordance with these lessons found there, because if congregations are hungering and thirsting for the Holy Spirit maybe it is because He is not showing up when churches open their doors, and He is waiting for people to open the door to their homes, where the early churches met.

That's an interesting point!  Thanks.  As a former Pentecostal I think it may be because some maybe projecting a slightly different gospel, a gospel of human works. Try to make themselves right with God through works.  I have spoken to some who are terrified of 'loosing their salvation' because they feel they have not done enough, or have done so much and have not yet received this blessing or that one or are comparing themselves to others.  A good bible verse I often share is this one:

Ephesians 1: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Every spiritual blessing is to be found in Christ.  :)

That mindset surely is because of " another Gospel"...we see the traditions of men being taught by some from many denominations, not only Pentacostal, right?

Very good point - when people are being taught to meet unrealistic standards they will loose sight of what has already been accomplished by Jesus & become burdened by those very expectations, when in fact we are Free in Christ. Our Great Expectations are in Jesus!!

Thank you for sharing.

There is a big difference between placing your confidence in Jesus Christ to finish His work in you rather than looking to a spiritual phenomenon for a supernatural filling of what believers are assuming is the Holy Spirit when it is not.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:......... 11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

It all goes to Who you are looking at for His fruits of righteousness to come about by;  by confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ or a supernatural phenomenon of what they say is the "Spirit" filling you.  One should consider that if the latter, then it is on you to bring it about by looking for that phenomenon rather than trusting Jesus Christ to do it without looking for that phenomenon to occur.

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Lord will not work supernaturally as the world does by receiving spirits by a sign like mediums in contacting ghosts.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

They are drinking from another fountain when they lose self control to even fall backwards.

1 Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

1 Corinthians 4:

1 Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court.

In fact, I do not even judge myself.

4 For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this;

but He who judges me is the Lord.

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light

the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts.

Then each one’s praise will come from God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
