Mystery Babylon - What is it?

I have been going over and over again concerning "Mystery Babylon", trying to see what makes the most sense. Now there are interesting theories (whether it is the US, or even China) but has many people thought about the possibility that Mystery Babylon could be a reference to the monetary system we have today? Could we be looking at a total economic collapse of some kind that may parallel  the stock market crash (and Great Depression)  of 1929?

It does sound like a major economic failure, but here poses a interesting question. What happens if the USD collapses and becomes worthless (and the USD is the world reserve currency)? Could we be looking at global collapse of all economies?

Reading up a bit on The Great Depression/Stock Market crash 1929, it does seem to draw some parallels depending on the verses read in Chapter 18 of Revelation.

Worth thinking on.

The BRICS nations are  already trading amongst themselves using their own currencies, which are gold backed.

Well i dont know a lot at all about international currencies or even how it all works, but just from what i see as an American citiizen, is that WE have it a lot easier than many nations and maybe even been spared from some of the complications from turmoils that other people around the world have had to deal with as far as every day financial transactions? But then again you see these info-mercials on places like Youtube that make it sound so easy to make some big $$$$ from your own home business or trading or whatever, almost like anyone can do it without any problems with international transactions from one currency to the next, and it's all taken care of...??

Mystery Babylon - What is it?

Biblical Description:

Rev 17:5  And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

In Scripture harlotry often refers to spiritual unfaithfulness, and abominations are anything idolatrous.

I was just reading Jeremiah 51 which is his prophecy against ancient Babylon from whence the metaphorical Mystery Babylon the Great of Revelation is derived.

Notice the golden cup element:

Jer 51:7  Babylon was a golden cup in the hand of the LORD, making the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore the nations have gone mad.

Rev 17:4  The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.

The nations of the world tend to secretly indulge themselves in whatever pleases them, regardless of moral, ethical, or spiritual values.

Food for thought:

At The Head of Great Empires 

People rise in dominance to become great empires.

Great empires rise in prominence with great emperors at their head.

Who decides and who desires

To be the one by whom the world is led?

What occurs and what transpires

To subjugate and fill mankind with dread?

The angel speaking with John in revelation told John what the woman is that he saw.

There is no Mystery Babylon, look at Rev. 17:7 the Angel clearly tells John come and I will tell you mystery of Harlot is that rides the Beast. 

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Musterion (Mystery) means to shut the mouth, here God does the opposite, so its never been a Mystery all this time, people simply misunderstand the "Vision" in verses 3-6. Its MYSTERY Followed be three descriptions of who the Harlot woman is. Its like God saying, MYSTERY? well here is the answer to the mystery. Thus t was never, ever Mystery Babylon it goes like this instead.

MYSTERY (?)

1.) Babylon the Great ( Babylon was noted for its FALSE RELIGION )

2.) Mother of Harlots ( FALSE RELIGION was the original Harlotry )

3.) Abominations of the whole Earth (God is a Jealous God and thus FALSE RELIGION is an abomination )

People looking for a Mystery Babylon miss the clues, we get told WHO the Harlot is via the Three Descriptors of the Harlot here. Its like a Harlot with a name tag on her to identify her unto her clientele. 

Rev. 17 is FALSE RELIGION (The Harlot) getting Judged, but how? Well, the 10 Kings (E.U.) and the Anti-Christ demand that everyone worship the Beast as the ONLY GOD, thus they will wipe out ALL FALSE RELIGION, save Beast Worship, they will wipe out Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism et al, that is why Rev. 17:16 says the 10 kings kill off or burns the Harlot. Before the end times, Zeus worship, Jupiter worship etc. etc. were always a part of the other 6 Beast Kingdoms, suddenly there is no place for her, thus she gets judged by Gov. Beast Rev. 17:17 says God puts it in their hearts to do His will.

In Rev. 18 God judged Babylon (the WHOLE WORLD) Himself. 

There is no Mystery Babylon, the Angel explained all of this to us long ago.
