Amen.   I don't think Kennedy has a chance to win...so why cast a vote for him which is essentially going to be a vote for Harris.

The VP has very little to do in the Senate even when it is in session by itself. It is akin to holding the dummy hand  in a game of bridge.

Her duty is to preside over all joint meetings of the senate and house.  Been that way for as long as I remember.   It was a serious shun for her to not be there, considering she could have done what she did at any of the 5 days of the meetings she attended.

No, it's not a huge job, but her presence was the point.  Her presence acknowledging the visiting dignitary, her presence leading the Congress in applaude and ovation, her presence demanding that others attend and not boycott.

A small job, but important.

Her skipping out spoke volumes.
