Debp posted this thread, not the other person you are suggesting.  And it's offensive that you want to restrict the subject.

It's not just Islam; the unfortunate thing with those countries is that they allow such injustice legally. Rather people who have those thoughts and intentions exist under every umbrella; are you aware of how much of a presence child marriage advocates exist within Christianity? Alongside all the countries who struggle economically, where these sickos fly there to participate in underage sex workers. If that's one good thing Bush did, he organized some efforts to catch those people. So many sickos with their own "justifications" from whatever group they're trying to hide within.

No group should be entirely defined by such a thing. That's a mistake that's been made already; it's still somewhat present, but it used to be the de-facto assumption that someone who's gay also likes kids. All these people saying "protect the kids, protect the kids" and it just backfired. Rather it's that predators are a blight, they infect pretty much every facet. And the only true way we'll smoke out the fox holes is if we acknowledge them for who and how they are, not by what labels and identities they try to put forward.

It gives me solace, at the least, that the majority looks upon these things with disdain. They'll continue advocating for legality, but it's gonna be one hell of an uphill battle for those freaks.

If that "one member" is who I think you are talking about, she is a self-professed mentally ill person.  One has to take what people like that say with a grain of salt.  And be kind and not argue with them.

I think life there is horrid.   It doesn't stop with marriage with these child brides.

When they get pregnant, their bodies are too small and their extended uteruses will many times adhere to their little bladders causing their bladders to tear while giving birth.

It's called an obstetric fistula.  And the nightmare is only beginning.  Because of the tear in the bladder that isn't repaired, these little girls "drip" urine constantly and they smell.

They smell so badly that their adult husbands get rid of them leaving them homeless and sick.

I watched  a documentary several years about an older woman who took a team of doctors somewhere in the Middle East, built a facility, and gave free surgeries to these girls.  They gave them clean clothes and female goat.  I can only pray that the facility is still there.

God is performing miracles in the Middle East at far as both Muslims and Jews coming to know Christ.  That's what I pray for when I think of those in that part of the world - miracles.

We should pray for these - daily.

No comment from here, except to say wasn't this also posted as  70 year old man and a 10 year old girl? I have zero confidence in theses so called news videos as they are designed to get "hits" in order to maintain ad revenue. So I just don't watch 'em, unless there is first a well written article to read and a  then a video attached.

 I'm finding there are just way too many "tar babies" along the pathway that may and actually do distract me, and that I do need avoid many as I can spot. My own need is to be about what my LORD has had written, His word the Bible, that I might learn, think about, and pray over,  as the Holy Spirit  guides and alerts me to be about reading and applying in all that I may  do.

There was more than one girl in the video.   The first girl was 9 and sold to a 55 year old man (although he looked even older).

The girl who said she would kill herself was 10.... supposed to be sold to the 70 year old man.

The video is by CNN...they sent a crew in to document this.
