What must I do to go to hell...I just wanna not go to hell, what is it that I must do to avoid it? I mean, obviously I must love God and follow the commandments...but like if I do not go out and witness or save a soul for God, etc., will I possibly go to hell for not doing all I can? For being lazy???

the answer to the first question is...... do nothing, and you will go........

to avoid going to hell, follow Christ..... that simple....

the answer to the last question is, if God is leading you to go out and witness to some one, then do it..... for instance, if i am driving down the road, and the Lord tells me to go talk to that person over by the park ( or street corner or where ever else, or that person changing their tire ) and I ignore that, ten miles down the road the Lord will still be dealing with me until i turn around and go back.... i have found that it is much easier to go at the time He tells me.

God has already let us know He does not like a slackard ( among other things ).....

being saved, and just warming a pew may get a person into the Heavenly Kingdom, but what rewards await them? not many, that would be for sure......

we must trust in the Lord enough that we will allow Him to lead us, to strengthen us, to support us, to give us the words to say, to be there with us, to show us the way, tohold our hands as we go forth in this world....

are we afraid of going out and talking about Christ?

we go out and talk about that stupid football game and how many bad calls the ref's made and that so and so should have won or they did not deserve to win, we can talk about that all day long, but about Christ?

who is ashamed of Me? says Christ? if you are ashamed of Him, then he will be ashamed of you.....

our lives should revolve around God.... but instead we allow our lives to be revolving around work, school, friends, play and well, just about everything else except God.....

when we have a trial, we automatically think it is a savage attack from satan, but when in all actuallity, it is nothing more then an exercise from God to strengthen us.....

look at it this way.....

most of the time we are complaining about problems in life.... we then ask for all our friends and family to pray that it will be gone..... and when the problem is no longer there ( actually it is, we have just successfully avoided the issure ) we think we done good, but really the problem is still there and we are not even as strong as we were prior to the problem showing up, for we did not exercise our muscles ( spiritual muscles )......

example....

some one rolls a big rock in front of your front door, you can not get out, cause you are not strong enough to move it, so you complain and just use the back door, never using the front door again.... years later, that rock is still there, and you have still not attempted to move it since that very first day....

on the other hand.....

if some one rolls a big rock in front of the front door, and i can not use the front door because of the rock being in the way, and i go out every day and work at it, pushing on it, day after day after day, my muscles will strengthen and my body will grow stronger and stronger, leaner and leaner, and one day, the rock will budge, maybe not much but it will eventually move just a tad little bit.... so i continue working on it, and then with out even realizing it, one day the rock is no longer in front of my front door and now i can use the front door instead of the back door.....

most people in the church(s) are content with just using the back door and complaiing about not using the front door.

our trials are there for a reason, not to forgo them, not to try and get around them, not to beat us down, but to strengthen us........

there was an old man that was retired and had nothing to do, and one day during a check up, they found cancer in his body... he rejoiced... the doctors were astounded at the reaction.... they asked him why he was happy.... he replyed that he was happy cause now he has something to focus his mind and spirit on..... he was ready for the battle and looking forward to strengthening his mind and spirit......

we also have to keep in mind, that the Lord would like to have us just sit and relax and commune with HIm....

the story of Mary and Martha a prime example.....

there is time to work, and there is time to play, there is time to relax, there is time to talk, and also listen.... there is a time for all things...... we must know when it is time for each, and to do this we must be close to God....

the Israelites found out that if they are not on Gods time, they loose......

the 12 spys came back, 10 with bad reports, 2 with good..... the two with good were ready to go and it was time to go and kick some back side..... the 10 were afraid...... later, the 10 repented and were ready to go and went, and they got pounced because God was not with them at that time, they did not go on Gods time, but on their own..... there was a time to fight, and they missed out.....

there is also a time to witness, and if that time is not right, we will not do good at it..... to start off, we need to be in prayer until the Lord tells us to go...... that is why we are told to pray continuously, so that we are ready at anygiven time....... God dont want to hear us say.... Wait a couple hours while I go get prayed up...... we need to be prayed up at all times.......

obediance over sacrafice.... sacrafice is good, but obediance is better.....

PLEASE LISTEN TO ME PEOPLE

Ok, I suppose I would be an ideal Christian if I got up at 5 went out and passed out tracts, witnessed to as many people as I could, then went to do charity work, then sold all my worldly goods and gave the money to the poor and lived in a shack or in a room with many other christians living there, then prayed for four hours straight, then helped ppl some more , and then came home and went to sleep and started all over agaon...anything short of that seems like I might possibly go to hell....

Everyone here is making up their own ticket out, one guy says there is no hell (lie), another guy is telling me , "Oh if u are driving to the mall and u see a guy that God wants you to witness to then witness to him, then get back into your car and enjoy shopping!"....another guy tells me that I should just join a church and do his work---but what does that mean? Shall I participate in church plays and witness to ppl once a week and slip a five dollar bill into the collection bin? THats what most "church" ppl do!!

I mean how many of us here are going to go to hell and dont even realize it? Do we really know what it takes to go to heaven? Perhaps ypu are all weary of the truth?

Romans 14:12 is your verse. All Christians will stand before the Bema Judgment Seat (for Christians only) to receive those things done for - or tragically omitted - on behalf of the King of all kings. It'll be an account BY you ABOUT you, not about someone else. The bottom-line has to do with REWARDS for labor for Christ, not with one's EVERLASTING (John 3:16 & John 10:) SALVATION.

Further, the Holy Bible does indeed call for EVIDENCES that one has been saved from sin. If one claims to be saved but is seen continuing in the practice of sin as before meeting Jesus Christ, one should very carefully & quite urgently "examine oneself" for those EVIDENCES of new life in the Savior. Even the world itself in strategic areas of human endeavor insist on EVIDENCES of life....pulse okay? Heart murmur? Blood pressure satisfactory? Arteries clogged or a-okay? Why knock EVIDENCES? They speak volumes! Some tremendous EVIDENCES of having been born from above include victory over sin, love for the brethren & sisters in Christ, overcoming worldly allure, boldness for Christian witness and not "forsaking the assembling of ourselves together," etc. If I love the Chicago White Sox - put your own team in - I'll most probably strive to attend their games to personally support their efforts on the field, yes? So why might Jesus & His Church be different? A life without EVIDENCES of being alive, well, of course, is not only shaping up as a monumental train-wreck but is in point of fact - DEAD!

So, a good query would be, do you do Sudoku? Hmm. Whatever.

Now to Starbucks for another maple macchiato or maple latte combined with caramelly-sweet expresso roast and steamed milk topped with maple lacing. But I will forego the maple walnut coffeecake.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Well, you could do all this and still go to hell.

You will go to Heaven if you are saved by Jesus. You will love Jesus if you are saved by Him. If you love Him, you will want to do good things. Stop trying to make the works the important thing, they aren't. What is important is loving Jesus with all your heart. The rest follows once you get that down.

The only one who ever "did enough" (or didn't sin at all) to get into Heaven was Christ. If you were Christ then you wouldn't need Him, but you're not Christ so you do need Him. (Like that sentence? :whistling: ) So, put what you should or should not do away for a little while. We can come back to it, and it sounds like you are missing grace for the sake of works.

Christianity is not a set of rules. It is not what you should or shouldn't do. It is a relationship. Your name already says that. You are the daughter of the King! NOt the daughter of the rule book, the slave of the judge.....

Ok, I like examples. I learn best from examples. I get long winded because of examples. But I'm going with a couple anyway.

Ever been in love? Being a Christian is like being in love. (Only better because He won't let you down.) If you really, really love someone then you do things to make him happy just because it makes him happy. If a man brings me flowers because he wants to see me happy, that is love. If he brings me flowers because it is Monday and it is required that all men bring flowers on Monday, that isn't special. It doesn't make me happy. Same thing with God. If you serve Him because it makes Him happy then that is special. If you are doing "good works" because someone gave you a list of good things to do, then you are really just wasting your time.

Finally, compared to God we are all children. If you try to teach a small child how to tie her shoe she is going to get frustrated, kinda like you are feeling frustrated right now. Ok, if the child works at it and works at it then you will be proud of her and she will eventually get it. She is being a good girl because she is trying even if she is failing. You will help, the shoe gets tied, life goes on. If it is time to put her shoes on and she throws the shoe, stomps out of the room, and yells that she won't tie her shoe. She can't do it and won't try, she would rather get mad and refuse. You aren't going to be proud, she is being bad not because she won't tie the shoe, but because she won't try and is getting mad at you even though you are trying to teach her the right thing. I mean, you can't let her wear velcro (do they even make that anymore?) for the rest of her life. Again, we are kinda like that. God knows we are going to fail. It isn't about if you fail to do the right thing, it is about if you try.

So, first priority is to love God. Love Him and do your best for Him and He will be happy with that.

Hi Daughter,

Again your question will get the answer it is intended.

What is enough? Whatsoever he says do it. If you are born again you have the Holy Spirit. If you do not have the Holy Spirit you are not born again. Listen to the Holy Spirit and He will tell you what to do. Are you not able to hear the Holy Spirit?

"If you obey me then are you My disciples indeed."

What is not enough? Not believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is that simple.

I am afraid you are the one who is not "getting it." There is no such thing as "enough" where good works are concerned. This point has only been made to you, ad nauseum. There are not enough good works to secure you a place in heaven, so you might as well understand that.

Your other posts seem to betray in notion that you are in love with Jesus. You have no desire to serve the Lord, would prefer to simply not exist after death so that you can live any way you want without having to be accountable for your actions. You want to sin without consequence, and yet claim to be in love with Jesus. There is a major contradiction that needs to be accounted for, assuming that you are being honest in your representation of yourself in this forum. When you love someone, you will do anything for them, instead of seeing how little you can do to just get by.

The only thing that will keep you out of hell, is to place your faith in Jesus Christ. The only way you will go to hell is to fail to make a decision without Christ. If you were in love with Jesus, you would not want to know what the bare minimum necessary to make it to heaven. One who loves Jesus would want to go above and beyond.

Everytime I see this question I think about the same answer.

What must I do to go to hell?

Absolutely nothing

What keeps you out of hell?

To place your faith in Jesus and to accept Him as your Savior, works won't get you there, but if you love the Lord as you say you do, you should have the desire to please Him ,you don't have to go out and witness ,maybe He wants you to pray for other people Salvation. Ask the Holy Spirit what He has in mind for you and believe me He will let you know.

But you are saved by grace, and not by anything you can do yourself :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
