Probably due to some discussions here of late regarding anticipation of what things look like approaching our Lord’s return; I found myself wondering why of an entire population of earth, only 8 were saved. Why did only 8 souls choose to be loyal to their Creator.

I further mused on how given life spans and verbally passed on stories since Adam, those accounts would have been part of the collective awareness…and yet only 8 chose God.

Notwithstanding Noah and his family being the only ones God appointed to go on the Ark, there were men calling on the name of the Lord prior to God choosing Noah. (Genesis 4:26).  And if 2 Peter 2:5 refers to Noah preaching pre-flood, it would stand to reason that men were hearing Noah preach the word of God, and faith comes by hearing the word of God. (Romans  10:17).  How many people were there in Noah's day?  Perhaps billions, given the longevity of people in those days.  Therefore, even though the Bible says God only saw Noah as  just and righteous in that generation, it doesn't necessarily mean that others who called upon the name of the Lord were faithless and weren't otherwise saved.  For if they called upon the name of the Lord in faith, they would have been saved (Romans 10:13), even though they perished in the flood.

Isn't the tendency of the unconverted is to dwell on evil continually? Granted, they wouldn't define their thoughts as continually evil but God certainly did/does.

Even for a Christian it takes many years to train one's thinking to notice particular thoughts springing up in the mind are not often wholesome; (true for me). 2 Cor. 10:5.

In the biblical account found in the Book of Genesis, God does express to Noah that the earth was filled with wickedness and that He was going to bring a flood to cleanse it. Specifically, in Genesis 6:5-7, it states that God saw the wickedness of humanity and decided to destroy all living beings, except for Noah and his family, who were considered righteous. While the text does not explicitly state that God told Noah there were no other righteous people, it does imply that Noah was the only one found righteous in a corrupt world.

I liked that you mentioned in your other post that even though everyone ( except Noah & his fanily) perished in the Flood doesn't mean all were not Saved....sure,what about babies and little children ? No doubt they were Saved,God is Just,Merciful ,Loving and Everything Good

With love in Christ,Kwik

It's always notable to bring attention to the fact that this life is not " the end" and that there are worse things than to lose our physical life on earth(& better things too)

I don't recall reading it specifically in the Holy Scriptures but by Holy Spirit inspired discernment I am ABSOLUTELY convinced, and believe, that all babies and children were saved. There is an age of accountability and many, myself included, think it might be around the age of 13-14 where children are not held accountable for sin (hence, age of accountability). I would even go so far as to say I believe that the Great I AM, in His great love and mercy, brought all these children and babies to heaven before the floods came. In that same great love and mercy I don't believe He would let these children and babies suffer a death in the flood.

I've come to believe that Jesus is found in His law and His word - the doing of them. His spiritual aspect understood and then applied in the physical life we have been blessed with.

When a Christian finds themselves at a distant from Jesus it is because they have walked away from being a doer of His word and have put distance between what is eternal and what is temporal; the self.

John 6:60-63,

When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)

Bring your wondering up-to-date.

What is the population of your town/city?

How many in that town/city regularly attend church?

How many of them are Christian?

People today have the same evidence that there is a God as the inhabitants  of the pre flood world.

Both prefer to shut their eyes/mind to that evidence.

If all have sinned and there are none righteous not one. How is it that God saw Noah as righteous?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
