I hope I didn't come off sounding too harsh. I didn't mean to.

Nope, no coming off harsh at all! You said something God has been trying to tell me, lol!

Sounds like there needs to be a Tip jar for the shoe salesmen! For schleping out this and that size, and putting the shoes back, etc. Hey, if starbucks can put a tip jar out for the workers who simply pull a spiget to get me coffee (I drink mine black, with no froo froo)... then why can't a shoe salesman who runs around getting me more and more shoes to try on?

Jenni

Jenni, it's not just shoes, lol! We only have two supervisors (myself and another person) and we basically have the store split in half between us! I have shoes, mens, home, and kids. She has all of women's, juniors, and jewelry. It is a very taxing job, lol!

PS: I think I might try Ted's idea of tossing a shoe at them!

I kinda messed that one up (sorry, I have a huge cold and am on lots of weird medicines)

I should have said that it would take me years to master!

Toss a shoe at the customers head for every time they leave one out. Eventually, they will make the connection. :)

Just kidding. :o

;) Great idea! I've only worked in retail once but I would've loved to throw something at some of our customers.

There was one woman who was having a huuuuuuuuge go at one of the girls because she couldn't find the lady's item (we were on a collection point). The girl had been checking every item on the collection point as she didn't know what the item was and the woman kept shouting at her saying "That isn't going to be it" and "That's too small" and then she demanded to see the manager and when he came she was shouting at him saying he should employ people who can do the job etc, she also called the girl some names that I wont repeat before demanding the address for head office. My boss (who is the greatest boss I could wish to have!) calmly said that he doesn't expect his staff to be abused like that and gave the woman the head office address and she eventually left. The girl who had been serving her was in tears by this point. I would've loved to have thrown something at her!

Aww.....I hate to see employees abused by obnoxious customers. It just irks me, y'know?

On the other hand, I hate to see the reverse, as well. Ain't nothing worse than plain out rude service simply because someone doesn't like their job or is having a bad day. :)

I totally agree. There's been a few times when I've been totally ignored in shops even though I'm obviously the front of the queue and it annoys me so much!! It's especially bad for kids I think, it happened sooo many times when I was younger! The last time it happend (last year I think) a woman just totally ignored the queue (I hate it when people do that!) and when I did get served the guy at the till did apologise to me and said "Sorry, you were in front of her, weren't you?" so all was well!

I don't think any shop assistants have said anything rude to me, my GPs receptionist is notorious for it though!

Now one thing I do have the privilege of-if someone starts using "choice" words at one of our employees (or myself) I can ask them to leave!

One thing that we deal with is a lot of shoplifters; no kidding! They are very brazen, even to the point of walking into our shoe dpt. while we're busy, taking off their old shoes and putting on new ones. They then put their old ones in the box and walk on out the door! Dave (Icy_Phoenix here on Worthy), who helps me a lot w/ shoes on weekends, and I at one time last year were keeping a running total of empty boxes-we were on course to lose over $20K worth of shoes and we're not even that big of a store. After a while you come to recognize some of these people as trouble and I will follow them around the store if need be. Last year, two ole gals decided they would threaten me, and then a few months thereafter one shoplifter slammed our store manager into the glass door, so I've learned to keep my distance, lol! You can usually tell the ones who are causing trouble, too. Normal people don't have an objection if I'm over close to them straightening, but generally the problematic ones start in muttering between themselves about how "we're not gonna shop here. They treat us like a thief and all we're doing is shopping" and other sort of stuff.

I must admit, though, yesterday went a whole lot better. I was determined to keep a positive attitude and I did well through most of the day w/ no complaining to myself or anything. I did finally lose it last night after this couple came in (they had saw me straightening and stocking) tried on about 5 pairs of shoes, and left them smack dab in the middle of the floor and walked out! I had left our stocking cart over there close to them and I sorta figured at the least they could have put them back on the cart, but nope, smack dab in the middle of the floor, lol! I found something interesting-when I started complaining to myself and muttering, I felt physically worse than what I had before. I guess that positive attitude pays off!

Oh well, I guess I've rambled enough, lol!

I huffed underneath my breath and went over, IN THEIR SIGHT, and straightened up the mess. No matter how many times I did it, they didn't get the message

You could have huffed and puffed them right out the store

Good I'm not shopping in your store, you be mad at me too !!!!! :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
