I'm so hungry to see revival!!! True repentance. A restoration in this Land. A fresh move of the Spirit across this land. Men of God preaching the word of God without compromise-with the passion and zeal of the Lord. A hunger for the word of God revived in the hearts of the believers. Sold out saints giving their all to spread the Good News. Men of God with the zeal of the Prophets of Old, willing to speak what the Holy Spirit gives them. Faithful Intercessors. Young babes in Christ making leaps and bounds in faith, True dicipleship, true fellowship, true worship. Husbands and fathers taken their God given position in the family-bring restoration to the whole family. I could go- on and on

Will it come??

That verse is a promise to the nation of Israel NOT the United States. It has been misused by many preachers and teachers who strive to get their listeners on an emotional high.

The truth is, if we are living in the last days, the Bible says it is only going to get worse before the Lord comes. Yes, we'd all love to see this nation revived and there may be pockets of revival but, generally "There will be wars and rumors of wars, pestilance, famines, earthquakes in many places". Our responsibility is to be witnesses of Jesus, plant the seeds and leave the watering up to the Lord.

Bob you are absolutely right...The birth pangs that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24 says the pain of labor will intensify and the contractions will become more frequent the closer to the delivery date.

Well Bob and David...I'm so glad God doesn't see it that way. The church in South Africa across denominational barriers stood on that verse of Scripture for two years before the 1994 elections that freed our country from apartheid...to prevent the bloodshed that had been prophesied and expected and that should have taken place given the years of unrest, and pain and trauma of lives opppressed and families broken through aprtheid. After years of violence and racial hatred in the country, God heard from heaven and healed our land.We had the truth and reconciliation commission led by a minister, Bishop Tutu, who believed that same Scripture and brought many murderers and their victims families to a place of forgiveness and reconciliation that only could have come from God. I was part of the counselling team during that period so I know that it was God. Many of those affected didn't know why their hearts changed but it did. We had prayer meetings across the country in stadiums, all night prayer meetings and intercessory prayer teams based on that very Scripture....so I guess God made an exception for us cos I can assure you that only less than 0,5% of this country is Jewish!.

I believe the Word of the Lord can apply to any nation, people, or individual at a given time as led by the Holy Spirit.

2 Chronicles 7:14

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

This was written to Israel yet so is the rest of the old testament. Because the old testament is written to Israel does not mean it cannot apply to us. On the same note since 1 Corinthians was written to the church in Corinth it does not mean it cannot apply to us in the local churches today. For instance, Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future) is a promise that applies to us as well. The Lord speaks to us throughout all the bible. The Holy Spirit can reveal these things to us.

I think the issue in question is on "healing their land". Yet this does not have to refer to healing the land due to wars, pestilance, famines, etc but other things. A revival takes place from within man not from outward circumstances. Outwardly things can get worse but that's not important. What matters is whether inwardly things are getting better. This is through revival. Yet through prayer we can surely physically "heal the land", the most important thing is man's heart and inner being.

2 Corinthians 4:16

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

What happens will be determined by our prayers. Jesus said we can move mountains if we have but faith as small as a mustard seed (matt 17:20). Surely we should keep a nation-wide revival on our prayer list. It may be the time.

When will Revival come to America?

when we WAKE UP...........

we are a prideful nation, we have turned everyone to his own way...... we have codoned all sorts of sin, we are encouraging more and more to sin sin sin..... more and more lotteries, more and more casino's, more death, more sexual immorality.... just about every show has drugs, sex, and murder in them, we a hooked.....

in order for our land to be healed, we must repent, humble ourselves and repent....turn away from our wicked ways and turn towards the Lord....

as far as this being just for the Israelites, that is not so, God's Word is for ALL, those that will believe upon Him, believe upon His Son, the Christ, Jesus.....

the Old Test. has not been done away with, it is still in full force, God has not relinquished any, not even one promise, not even one little bitty covenant..... they all stand in full force. it is up to us to do our part, God has already done his part.

do not believe the lie that we are not part of the Bible, for as a follower of Christ, we become a new creation, and become a new man... .it is up to us to crucify the flesh subdue the flesh....

just cause we are saved, and no longer fall under the penalties of the Law, does not mean we are allowed to break the law.... on the contrary... we are to KEEP IT......
