No church at our church today. Our former pastor's wife (who actually pastored for a few years after he died) passed away this past week at almost 91 years of age. Her funeral was today so no services at all today.

No real reason for asking. Just curious I guess.A lot of people think church is no longer necessary. I disagree. From personal experience I can say that a church family is very important.

I think you're right, Times. If we look to the early Church, they worshipped together.

Acts2: 42-47

They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.

Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

All who believed were together and had all things in common;

they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one's need.

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart,

praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

If only our churches resembled this model!

Peace,

Fiosh

My job prevented me from going today as we had some people quit at work and guess who they called on. Well it is not surprising to me as I'm trying to get restored to church fellowship and was suppose to meet with the pastor's wife to discuss some things and I know I am being hindered from it.

lol.. so do I get to be the oddball this evening??

I went to church this morning as the bus route picked me up for church for Sunday School and for the Morning Worship service! What a wonderful way to spend mother's day in my local church with my wonderful church family. Sure, my mom wasnt' there today because she doesnt' go to church anymroe adn very stubborn, but it was wonderful because I have an amazing God and an amazing church family that truly cares!

Tonight we had a special service for the graduating class of 2006! It was amazing! Pastor brought forth an amazing message.. abotu three of last years graduates came to visit... one of them brought their entire family once again... it was just amazing and I couldn't believe it...

Church is wonderful and we should all be in teh HOUSE of teh Lord on Sundays! And whenever the doors are open! I can't begin to express how wonderful it is to go to church Sunday morning(for both services), Sunday Night, Wednesday night for youth group, adn then back on Saturday for visitation where we go out and knock on doors! Hopefully, someday, Lord willing.. I'll be teaching children in a Christian school and can be at the church all the time! How amazing it will be!!!

This is such a wonderful question to remind us that we need to be in our local church on Sundays and not sitting at home watching TV, on the computer, at work, going shopping or anything of that nature becuase God comes first! Praise the Lord!!! Thanks Times! How was church?

WIth love in Christ Jesus,

Crystal

wow crystal! sounds like u have a really amazing church there! u are really blessed....not many people have that! :)

Yesterday, I did not attend the formal congregational session. however, I was singing praises from the roof top, for about 24 hours over the last two days...

who holds one day in higher esteem then another? who created this one day? who created the other six days...

I spent time with my mother, i spent time with my wife, and i spent time with the Lord.

today, will also be a worship day, a day to worship God in all His Glory, to Praise Him above all, and to Honor Him in all i do and say...

We are told that we are not to forsake the gathering together.

we are to come together in order to help each other out, to join in with corporate worship and praise, to heal the sick to comfort the hurting, to be of service to God by serving others.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
