Nice way to avoid the question! ;)

i suspect the motives of anyone who asks the question. i really suspect the motives of anyone who asks the question and should know.

jesus was asked about john and told peter it was none of his business. ask jesus.

there are two ways you can recognize your bretheren that jesus gave. what are they?

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (NIV)

If we have to ask, what does that say?

my feelings exactly. i am already judged in the matter. good call.

The mark of a false teacher is someone who adds things to the word of God that are not found in scripture. Taking an event from the bible and making unsubstanciated and in fact a contradictory account of what is written to make a point in defense of a personal opinion is not something to be taken lightly.

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Very good Robert, and if I might add another two cents from the LORD;

1 Timothy 4:4 For everyting God created is good and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

4:5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

4:6 If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching you have followed.

4:7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives tales, rather train yourself to be godly.

4:8 For physical training is of some value but godliness has value for all things holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

In other words. This worry and prattle about what we eat is senseless and it most certainly is not focusing on the value of godliness.

Come on everybody, what is the godly value of what is happening in this thread? So if someone wants to eat pork, let them and keep your own personal belief about it to yourself. Christ made all things clean for our use. Why are we not as concerned about loving one another as we are about the matter of what we eat.

As I said in the beginning of this dreadful thread. Christ said it is not what you put into your mouth that is unclean but what comes out. And also remember that God judges and sees everything. I wonder what HE is concerned more about your soul or your stomach!

the child,

I'll just ask you point-blank and hope for a point-blank answer (It's easier for me to understand since I've gotten so stupid over the years from ingesting too much fluoride.) : Is it your intent to simply inform other believrs about a healthy diet, or is it your intent to condemn other believers for not following a kosher or vegetarian diet?

In my opinion - honestly - the original article which you posted has a decided tone toward condemning those who eat pork.

Well it comes down to intent on diet.

The more I learn about most of our food industry, particularly the large scale meat and poultry processors, the less I am interested in eating their product. I like meat, and am thankful that given where I live I can buy from local butchers who butcher whole cattle from local farmers; it is more expensive than the feedlot stuff, but much better.

In my investigations of the food processing industry, chickens are the filthiest much worse than pork as far as the actual number of people per year made sick due to the product. This supports what I have seen in the processing plants, the chicken plants are disgusting.

Now there is something to kosher food being clean, just as there is something to circumcision. Not spiritually, not at all, but just from a basic health issue, Kosher food preparation is cleaner, it has to be to meet basic Kosher requirements. To butcher a cow in Kosher way you must do it using implements which are much much cleaner than anything Tyson is doing.

But it profits us nothing for salvation. On the other hand why not try to eat healthy?

i think that saying what happens to the body has no spiritual value is absurd. didnt jesus heal people? then he said go and sin no more. not exactly and apple and orange issue - more of an apple and root system issue. lets face it, a person who is bed-ridden and in constatnt pain is not exactly what one could call a blessing. not that blessing cant come from that, but there has to be better ways to spend your time.

i feel the same way you do about kosher food. it is just another inspection and is probably a lot cleaner. but i dont eat enough meat to worry that much about it. its nice in processing plants if you can get it, but i dont eat that much processed food either. organic certification is more important because the material itself is cleaner all around, inside and out. and generally has more nutritional value.

circumcision is butchery. i am talking about what passes for circumcision today. it is as loathesome as the islamic tradition of circumcising females. it is flat out deformation and mutilation. the current method was designed in more modern times to discourage masturbation. what it does is make a mockery of male sexuality. the jews, of course, were the first to introduce this "extreme circumcision" when the rabbis found out that jewish men were able to stretch the skin down enough in order to pass in hostile places to them like europe. so the tradition handed down from abraham is nothing like what is done today, and if i had known what was happening to my boys, they would have never been touched. i encourage all to not defile their sons and daughters with any of the modern medical things done to them. some of those things have dire consequences and some cannot be undone no matter what. it is pure ignorance that leads us on these paths, such as i was when my sons were born. i have openly wept for letting my sons tonsils be taken out. he had the voice of an angel before that. now they get nothing but some minimal dental, and no mercury fillings. no vaccinations. no doctors unless it is an extreme emergency. i have them taken care of long before they ever get too sick, they are well again, usually only with an herb or even just a couple of glasses of water. they dont even take aspirin or tylenol or any of that stuff.

What I meant by having nothing to do with our salvation is just that, ONLY faith in Christ and what He did saves us, not our pathetic attempts at justification, including eating healthy, including eating Kosher, including not smoking, including not drinking any alcohol, or pork, these are all filthy rags in an attempt to gain or curry favor from God.

Many people who were addicted to nicotine will be in heaven; many people who led outwardly clean healthy lives will be burning in hell.

But, why not eat healthy? It makes us feel good and it works.

As far as circumcision goes, well I totally disagree. Male circumcision is cleaner, men who are circumcised have a lower chance of contracting or spreading STD's(not that that would be an issue for a Christian), and there is evidence that they may have lower rates of some cancers. Also if you have ever been in a locker room with boys who are not circumcised, well let me say, your sons will thank you. But of course this is a personal decision and once again has NOTHING to do with our faith or salvation.

What is fascinating about Kosher, is that when God gave these laws to the Jews, say washing their hands and utensils prior to eating, no one had any idea 4000 years ago about what a germ even was, what bacteria was, etc. God knows how to take care of His people. Now I don't follow Kosher as any spiritual command as we are free to rest in Christ, but I do pay attention to Kosher, like I said I think there is something to it.

Anyways, it' not what goes IN a man that counts, but what comes OUT of the man....didn't our Lord kinda pinpoint that for us?

All this not eating pork is so or drinking tap water is so off the wall in the context its given.

All I was asking were a few questions but I guess I don't get a answer??

The Child,

Can you reply in your own words instead of quoting scripture?

Let me try again....

1:I don't know where you stand with the Lord are you His child and looking to do His will? answer......

2: Did you make Jesus your personal Savior? Answer......

3:What does He mean to you? Answer.....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
