CHRISTIAN....You Can Be SAVED and Sure of It!

For it is what the Word of God says, about those who have come to Christ but doubt there salvation in various ways. It is the Word of the Lord that is truth and we can believe and trust in what God has said about our salvation. It is peaceable when we let the truth set us free indeed.

1 John 1:5-10 {covering only vs. 5-7} This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: (7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from All sin.

1 John 4:13-16 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

(14) And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. (15) Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. (16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1 John 5:9-11 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. (10) He that believeth on the Son of God hath this witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. (11) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

It will always be these truths that our salvation is based upon the witness of God and not all of the different ideas and opinions of man that are going around like the once saved always saved, and those who believe you can loose your salvation and many more. But The Witness Of God Is Greater, And Our Faith Must Remain Believing Rooted And Grounded In The Written Word Of God.

Revelation 2:23-26, "...I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works."

Revelation 20:12-13: "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which was the book of life:and the dead were judged according to those things which were written in the books, according to their works. The only way a person may be saved is to adhere to what Christ taught through His Church.

"through His Church?"

Where is this in Scripture?

Does it say:

10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, and His Church, by Him and us this man stands here before you whole. 11 This [Him and me, Peter] is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' 12 Nor is there salvation in any other [Jesus and His Church], for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4 - Peter speaking)

or does it say:

10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This [Jesus] is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4 - Peter speaking)

And by the way - where does the word "Church" come from And what is the Greek word that is used?

OneLight,

Do you believe that if a person believes in Jesus then he is saved by that faith alone?

Yes, I do. Have you not read "For by grace you have been saved through faith"?

1 Corinthians 13:12 says that a person could have all the faith and it could profit him nothing: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith so that I could move mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

People are deceiving themselves when they believe that faith alone grants salvation e.g. one who has all faith will be saved. But the Bible teaches otherwise; one could have all faith and it could still profit him nothing!

The deception comes in the misunderstanding of this passage. What kind of faith would Paul be talking about? Not the faith one has in Christ. When we are His, we are a new creation, the old man is gone as a new man arises. There is faith that is not of God.

The Church is not God; however the dogmas and other doctrines of God’s Church are rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ Himself. Does not the Bible say that Christ found one Church (Matt. 18:20),

Matthew 18:20 does not speak of one church, but where two or three are gathered in His name. This could be anywhere.

.. we must hear it to be saved (John 3:5), we need to be baptized (John 3:5)

John 3:5 says that one must be born of water and of the Spirit. This has noting to do with the church, but a human relationship with Christ. Only God can give us the Holy Spirit, not the church.

We must receive his body and blood in the Eucharist (John 6),

This is also seen in Matthew 26; Mark 14 and Luke 22 where we are to do so in remembrance of Him.

confession (John 20:23)? These are just few of things that many people who say they are Christians deny and reject! But to deny these things are to deny our Lord who teaches us that we must not deny these things, but believe them and DO them in order to be saved.

If you forgive the sins of someone, yes they are forgiven him. This does not constitute having a confession where you confess everything to one man, but instead, it means that if a brother sins against you and come to ask for forgiveness, you should forgive them.

To answer your questions: yes, I believe in the Trinity because that is what is taught by Christ's Holy Catholic Church.

You may believe it because you heard it in church. I believe it because He said it, no matter what church I go to. You seem to forget that we are all one body.

Revelation 2:23-26, "...I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works."

Rewards are given according to the works we have done. They will be tested by fire and what is not of Him will burn and what is of His will remain. This has nothing to do with salvation.

Revelation 20:12-13: "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which was the book of life:and the dead were judged according to those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

Who will be in this judgment?

Revelation 20:6

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

You are talking about what is known as the Great White Throne Judgment, where the lost will be judged.

The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[c] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[d] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

What works do you believe those who refuse Christ have done? You cannot compare the works we do in Him to the works of the world. We are not of the world. We are His.

May I suggest that you do a study on the difference between salvation and works. Salvation comes first, then through our faith in Him, we continue to do His will, which is His works, in the world. A person can do all the lovely works in the world, but refuse Christ Jesus and still miss the mark and not find salvation. Another can be saved, walk the thin line and still be saved through their faith in Christ Jesus. The works we do will determine what rewards Jesus gives us, not determine if we are saved.

Ephesians 2

8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Romans 10

9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

11 For the Scripture says, "Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame."

Sorry but you preach a false gospel.

Does not the Bible say that Christ found one Church (Matt. 18:20), we must hear it to be saved (John 3:5),

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Doesnt say someone must hear the catholic church to be saved.

You are placing a church on the level of an idol. Be careful.

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26

Speaks

But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. Matthew 23:8-10

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:4-6

One LORD Jesus Christ Creator

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Corinthians 8:5-6

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10

One Body The Church

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Colossians 1:16-19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Revelation 21:1-3

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
