I truly believe that in the Roman Times, in that culture and age, people were so much more tough and stronger than we are in this day and age. We, as Americans, are so lazy. Sure, we have intelligence, but each decade it just makes us lazier and weaker. Look at the ancient times war movies like Gladiator, Troy, Lord of the Rings, etc., people do everything with their hands, carrying, walking, in heat, in cold, through storms, up mountains, through canyons, rivers, and everything that we would call "roughing it." Our version of "roughing it" would be a vacation for them. That is why we can't even fathom the pain, agony, and sacrifice of Christ. We have been trained to be lazy and weak by this society and what is viewed as coshure or marketable by Hollywood. Think about it, even in the roughest of societies, they couldn't even fathom the pain, sacrifice, agony, and ridicule that Christ went through. What of us?

We really can't imagine how Christ suffered, that's true. I'm just glad He thought us important enough to die for.

I often wonder if people understand who Jesus was.

The Spirit of Jesus is any person in the world today.

Any Executive or Person who believes they are on top

of the world. In a twinkling of an eye; anyone could

become without.

Criminals were hung on the cross next to Jesus.

Thereby blessing and forgiving their sins with his death,.

and resurrection.

Did that make Jesus any less than what he was?

By Blessing their sins, I mean:

Bless:

to consecrate or sanctify by a religious rite; make or pronounce holy.

Since they died on the cross as well. A death without the word of

God; casting yet another mockery toward Jesus.

How then would they be saved without a pronouncement?

The Spirit of Jesus is any person who one might have been

slighted by another for no reason in their life. If you have ever done

this to another person, then there would be no reason not to believe,

that Jesus existed; for he too suffered persecution.

If you find that you can believe there was a Jesus, then we go further

to admit there is a God, and that he is in control of everything.

Through a slight of hand, you may have ministered

a soul to God, thereby making that soul innocent, and putting

your own motives into question.

Looking at the concept of : Conspiracy and Jesus

People conspired to put Jesus to death.

The people who wanted his death, did not believe he was the son of God.

The slight of hand: is Jesus being crucified.

His soul was again made innocent of this world.

When he arose; the motives by which his death was required; were brought into question.

Many people began to believe after his resurrection.

His death glorified God's word; more than any of his

betrayers wanted to admonish.

God's word is the word of peace.

Isa 27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud,

and fill the face of the world with fruit.

I had a hard time following what you were trying to say.

It seems you think Jesus was at one time not innocent?

Jesus was always innocent.

Even before we consider the true kinds of suffering Christ did on the cross, perhaps we should consider how much he endured leading up to the cross.

1 John 1:1–3 (AV)

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

John 1:1–2 (AV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 (AV)

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 17:5 (AV)

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Philippians 2:5–11 (AV)

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Verse 8 says he "humbled" himself the Greek says he "emptied" himself... verse 6 "morphe theos huparchon" reveals he retained his deity when he took upon himself the additional nature of humanity.

What did he empty himself of which John 17:5 calls the glory that he had with the Father before the world was?

The crucifixion of Christ has gotten so sanitized and glossed over that I thought it might be enlightening to those who doubt Christ's suffering to read this. The following is only the preliminary action wielded upon those condemned to crucifixion.

Though the topic is as relevant as ever, the OP has not been here since 2011. He has not posted in his blog (listed in his profile here) since 2013. But it does reveal that he is a Mormon. So beware the theology of this one. It still does not take away from the relevance of the suffering of the genuine Christ (which Mormons do not believe in btw).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
