Most "christians" are wimps!!!

I've thought about this a lot since this topic came up and I have to admit that maybe I am a wimp. Well, not an out and out wimp, but I don't normally initiate a conversation concerning someones salvation, or their knowledge of Christ. Certainly I'm talking about at work here. I don't shrink from it when it presents itself to me, but I don't seek it out myself normally. Actually, I'm busy at my job. There are some at work that I'm concerned about and I pray for them. Everyone there knows I am a Christian and most of them have seen my heart change. It has caused a strange mixture of reactions from my co-workers and bosses. Some think I am a hypocrite because I used to go to happy hour with them and drink. I have actually lost the respect of most of my bosses because I no longer "hang" with them. Now I am reduced to a plain ole employee tht no longer drinks or parties. I used to be a friend. It was hard adjusting to that at first. All the execs go out together and talk shop at the bar. It's strictly politics. I no longer care where I am on the corporate ladder. So, all in all, (aside from a small few) they know that I now serve Jesus sincerely. They avoid me because of it. Some of them come to me with questions about it. They all treat me differently because of it.

It is certainly interesting. I have prayed for more boldness, but have not received it. Yet, when the opportunity arises where I can speak God's truth, it is not my doing that lays out the situations. And in those instances, I am bold. So, wimp or not, I simply trust in the Lord to equip me to speak or rest. I am unworthy, and all that I do is unworthy. All I can do and be is what my Lord would have of me. I do know that those that are close to me know that a change has taken place. I trust that they have seen a miracle and a seed has been planted.

I don't think Jedi intended to stir the pot? I think in his zealousness he may have posted something that worded differently would have provoked the result he did intend.

I think he may have targeted those embroiled in the culture. Embroiled in the world. Trying to claim Christ in name only.

Our nation is full of Christians (self professed) who have no relationship with Christ. They bear no fruit. They may even visit this board as a guest. I think that wimps was a poor choice of words. Bound to lead to controversy.

Those he would be speaking to are the virgins without the oil. The ones who bury their coins and expect to return only what they have been given. Hiding it until His return.

Hi all

Vog claimed to be a prophet. He claimed to receive messages from God, to be Gods spokesman. Once one does this then it is up to Christians to put that persons claims to the test through the Word of God.

Catz you stated that there where many here who are at different stages in their walk in faith. Many have very little knowledge and are vulnerable. It is not the wish to protect them against deception that motivates learned brothers and sisters in the faith to put people like vog to the test? What if vogs claim and posts had gone by totally unchallenged? What message would that have sent to the babes in faith? Would they not have seen silence as acceptance and approval?

I read most of the responding posts to vogs posts and yes some where not edifying to God. But as it has been stated God knows the hearts of men. Its up to us all to step back and reflect on the way we responded to vog and the way we respond to one another now.

You are right in what you say Cats. I just joined the Worthy Boards last August so I don't know VOG. May I put it a different way? Based on the few threads I read, the interactions between some of the members and VOG and the other posts that referenced VOG, I was left with the impression that a false Gospel was being spread. Regardless, that wasn't really my point nor am I making any judgements since I was not involved as you say. My point is this. Jedi's post, I thought, was thought provoking and it seems to have had a positive effect on some. That's all. It led some to a moment of self reflection. There is good that came out of it regardless of its abrasiveness. Regarding the preaching of a false Gospel, there is never any good that can come from that and it is our responsibility to ensure the Gospel of Jesus Christ is kept pure and true. The greatest condemnation in Paul's episitles was for the Judaizers (those that added to the Gospel) and the blasphemers (those that taught a false Gospel).

I pray you receive my explanation and understand the point I was trying to make.

-sound the "warnings" in different ways...Some sound the trumpet--the shofar-while standing on

-the wall,some ride a horse thru the village yelling "The enemy is coming",some yell"we are under

-attack",some yell"to arms--to arms"-some go door-to-door---the "main"thing--the most"important"

-thing is; GOD'S PEOPLE ARE WARNED....Then each one prepares for war..one goes to the wall to

-support the ones on the wall---some build barricades---some RE-load the weapons,some bring

-water to those on the wall or the barricades..----BUT,no-where--no-time-no-how-no-way-does any

-one start yelling about the care,safety-the health of the "enemy"until "the approiate time"after the

-war--the battle-has been won--- the "enemy" defeated------------
