no, i live in las vegas now. i miss my family, but i hate texas.

LadyC I am right there with ya! When we drove through Texas, we were kinda just piddling along looking around.... they were SOO rude to us because we had California license plates. People kept asking WHY ARE YOU IN TEXAS :P So... exnay on el texasay.

hey, ya know what? my husband swears people are friendly in texas. i keep reminding him not everybody is like him LOL. i spent MY life there too, and over the last 20 years, it has become very UNfriendly. used to, strangers waved when they drove past somebody. now they give the finger if they acknowledge you at all.

i grew up in princeton. then i moved to arlington as an adult. then i moved back to princeton and stayed there for five years. aside from some of the parents of the many friends my kids had, and the relatives that lived in the neighborhood, i swear never knew the majority of my neighbors. the same was true at most places i can remember living in texas. i could live next to them from years and never know them. sometimes they'd wave if i waved first.

when we moved here to vegas, we were unloading our furniture and boxes to our apartment. each of us had one box, and couldn't even get out the door to get any more because neighbors came out of the woodwork to unload for us! we had three black men, an oriental man, and a hispanic man, from five different apartments around us, unload everything we owned.

most people would have been worried what the motivation was. coming from texas, that was our first instinct too. but ya know what? for two years living around them, we could not have asked for better neighbors! they were wonderful... we all looked out for each other and each other's kids, we all had thanksgiving dinner together, and that's just something you don't find in texas very often.

OH, i almost forgot... but the only place in the world with more rude DRIVERS than las vegas is definitely los angeles LOL... texas may have some road ragers out there, but at least they know how to drive! (some of them anyway :P )

When we moved to Missouri - our nighbors were out there before we got out of the truck - no joke! They were so friendly. even though we were strangers! Soon after that we joined a church.. We then bought a house because we were renting - and my uncle (dads twin) died suddenly so there were my brother and I with no place to go because it was near the end of the month - this wasn't long after joing the church, mind you - that they came and moved all of our stuff while my mom and dad were away! It was probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for us. People out in the mid-west seem soo nice compared to people out here in California - although we were all moving in at the same time because the houses were brand new - we didn't know any of them for the longest time. God has blessed us out here in California with great neighbors. Neighbors are a true blessing - and LadyC you are lucky to have some that helped you move in! Luke 10:27 The man answered, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as yourself." Galations 6:10 Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters.

Sorry.. off topic :P:P

Trav, we live about 60 miles southeast of Dallas. It would be fun to meet there in April or any time. Let me know when we are going to do this and I will plan on it as a definite. We need to get our hotel or motel rooms a head of time so they won't be booked up.

Where does everyone like to stay?

Hampton Inn

Ramada Inn

Best Western

or name your the place. Almost any kind of motel or hotel you could want is in Dallas.

Ya'll vote on the motel and I will go along with whatever ya'll decide. Will this be on the weekend or during the week? I think weekends would be best. Once again ya'll decide and I will go a long with it.

I've noticed where we are, that people are friendly. Every now and then, you get a goof, that sticks their nose in the air and won't wave, but usually, the drive from our house into town, you have been waved at and are waving back at several people passing you on the road. In town, though, it's a little different.

Sorry, but I have to do a :P on Andrew's comment:

"When we drove through Texas, we were kinda just piddling along looking around.... they were SOO rude to us because we had California license plates. People kept asking WHY ARE YOU IN TEXAS"

I bet I can guess what that was about. A lot of Texans don't care much for California. It's different, and by some, considered very liberal. They may have been thinking.. "Oh no, more liberal nuts moving to Texas to mess it up". LOL. Sorry, but some folks I've met are like that about California. I've been there and thought it was beautiful!

California is very liberal - however - there are a "FEW" conservatives, and my parents are a couple of them.

I think Texas is about the friendliest state that ever was. I know there are some odd balls here or those that have a bad day. Overall they (we) are a very friendly lot.

I have been to California numerous times. I found most of them to be friendly also. Maybe it is because I was friendly, I don't know. The only place Californians are not friendly is on the highway. I am talking Northern California (Redding) and southern California around Blythe.

Come on to Texas with us and we will show you that Texans are usually friendly.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
