Do YOU Lead a "Dual" Life?

Are YOU a Christian in the "light" of certain company, yet a completely different acting person in the "dark" company of others at home, work, or play?

I know this is rather hard to admit, but I've been this way many times before and GOD is helping me to overcome it.  What about YOU?  Are you experiencing this too at certain times and places in your life?  Please be honest, NOT "religious"!

Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a believer.  Most are my brothers and sisters in Christ and I can easily speak of the bible and of Jesus with them.  The ones that are not believers know that I am a believer, but I do find it difficult to speak of the bible and of Jesus to them.  It is easy for me to just invite them to church though as I've done with everyone.  One I invited to Easter service and she got saved and is a now a growing Christian.  I've learned the power of simply asking a friend to go to church with you.  I don't know how to approach a non believer and just start talking about Jesus without making them mad or running them off.  If they give me a bit of interest and open that door then I'm in there and it will be hard to shut me up.

I try not to advertise by words but deeds, like the saying "My life is my message". It's hard, I am not perfect. I get mad and upset like everybody else, but in general I am a nice person. I do not initiate a conversation about God, if a person asks me for an opinion, I will say, I am Christian, I believe.... But I don't push it on people. Who has ears let them hear...

I don't live a duel life. What you hear(read) on this board is me. My Christianity impacts every aspect of my life. I used to be more in your face with (my faith) but am less so as I mature and respect others more.

How can you lead a duel life if you are truly born again?

I admit it is easier to talk to Christians about the Lord then to non Christians, but we should show them by our actions that we are Christians.

But we stay human....that means we can still react in a way we shouldn't right?

Sis, there are those of us (Christians) who "fence straddle".  In other words, they try to keep one foot in the world's way of doing things and the other foot in Christiandom.

It's a very miserable way of living the Christian life, but only the individual knows that because of the many facades they have to try and keep up.

I used to be this way when I was a kid and my parents made me go to church and it wasn't on my own conviction.  Since I actually made my own decision to accept salvation I really strive to be the same everyday around everyone.  My husband, however is a new christian and still tends to think that christians are perfect or should act perfect.  He says things like, "so and so did such and such and they go to our church!  (Like they're hypocrites)  I tell him church is not for perfect people.  If they were perfect they wouldn't need to be there.  Just praise God they go and let Him worry about their behaviour.
