A true Christian is continuing in the apostles doctrine, these (who are under the teaching of the doctrine of grace) have all things in common, meaning;- they are in one accord (Strongs Greek #3661 - with one mind, and one passion) and are single-minded concerning the faith. (Acts 2:42, 44 & 46) We can only continue in the apostles doctrine, which needs to learned, If God sends a minister unto us. (2Tim 3:14); This is the doctrine that we need to believe in so that our soul could be saved from death (Heb 10:39, 1Tim 4:16); This doctrine is called the doctrine of Christ which we need to know, or we cannot have God

Who Openly admits

Jesus Christ is lord and Savior

Some one who speaks up for the unjust and Reaches out to those in need

Some One who does not throw any ones Sin in there face

A person that does not put on a mask and is only a sunday Christian but some one Who puts into practice to what is heard and preached in Church each Sunday

Being a Christian means understanding the true message of Christ and not listning to the Waterd down version that is preached today

As being a true Christian means Suffering also comes but many pastors avoid preaching this to keep there members

Jesus Never said this life was Going To be easy as he new what living the christian life was going to be like for some and he also new that many would not be able to do this

Matthew 5 verse 11 + 12 new spirit filled life study bible

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake

Rejoice and be execedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who wear before you

1 Peter 2 verses 21 + 24 new spirit filled life study bible

for what credit is it if when you are beaten for your faults you take it patiently ?

But when you do good and suffer if you take it patiently this is commendable before God

for to this you wear called because Christ also sufferd for us

leaving us an example that you should follow his steps

who commited no sin Nor was deciet found in his mouth

who when he was reviled did not revile in return when he sufferd he did not threaten but commited himself to him who judges righteously

who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree that we having died to sins might live for righteousness by whoes stripes you wear heald

for you wear like sheep going astray but have now returned to the shepherd and Overseer of our souls

Isaiah 53 + 3

He is despised and rejected by men

a man of sorrows and acquainted with greif

And we hid as it were our faces from Him

He was despised and we did not esteem Him

verse 9

And they made his grave with the wicked

But with the rich at His death

Because he had done no violence

Nor was any deceit in his mouth

so for me it is remembering what christ sufferd for while he was on the cross and the example that is in front of me which is the living word of god

i have been going over this also with a friend from church and we have been looking at Jesus life and this what you raised what is a christian and boy we new we wear off the mark and aslo talked on the waterd down version that is being preached today

i am stil learning my self and i am growing comming of the milk as one says and digging into the word

so by what i shared i was only speaking of what i see being a christian is and i know every one wil have diffrent views as well yet for me it is never forgeting what christ did for me and try to stay Away from the waterd down version that is often preached as i want nothing to do with it and its not what christ sufferd for while he was alive in his last hours on this earth

Uhmm on the first post in this thread, that describes religion, not a christian. A Christian is one who has a personal relationship with Christ. Thats all. Religion incorporates all those things that the OP stated.

Religion is useless without christ.

Just a personal relationship with Christ? Does the qualilty of the relationship matter? I'm reminded of the old song "Just a Closer Walk".

In Phil. 3:12-14, Paul exhorts us to press on in Christ, not to be complacent with where we are, but to lay hold of all we cqn be in Him. Greg.

The OP by Ztheberean is describing the maturation of a Christian. A person becomes a Christian by accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. The word "Christian" in the Greek is the dimunitive form of Christ (Christos) and was used in an insulting way by the people of Antioch who were calling the followers of Christ "little Christs" in an effort to belittle them.

The only requirement to being a Christian in the New Testament sense is to have been born into the family of God by your acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Savior. All else is maturation as we continue to grow in Jesus. Unfortunately, in today's world the name "Christian" no longer exclusively means a born-again child of God, but is used to describe things that could never be born-again such as a "Christian" church which is simply a physical structure.

Also, since there is considerable favorable cachet to the name "Christian", it is frequently used to describe individuals who are not within the family of God, who have never accepted Jesus as their Savior. Many of these "Christians" consider themselves in this class because they go to a certain church or because they are basically good people. As a result, many lost people wear the name of "Christian" or "little Christs" in vain.

Quality doesn't really matter, just the fact that a personal relationship exists makes one a christian.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
