In my experience, God does provide. We can't just sit back and do nothing, but I have always been so amazed and humbled at how God has provided for me. When my husband and I were first married we moved a long way away from my family. My grandfather became ill and I needed to take care of him. My husband quit his job and we moved. Well, we had no paycheck. My husband's grandmother, who was nearly 100, died just before he quit his job. We got a letter saying the Grandma had left a small estate and my husbands share turned out to be exactly 1 month's pay from the job he left, and within a month he found a job that paid the same. Another time, my husband unexpectedly got laid off of his job. That same day we needed to have something notarized so we went to a title company. I had previously worked for 20 years in a title company, so I asked if they may be hiring. It just so happened that they were in great need of someone with my experience to work the night shift (very unusual in the title business). They hired me the next day, th job paid the same as the one my husband had just be laid off of, and it was at night so I could spend the day with my husband and daughter. When we moved to our current home, we were struggling a bit financially. For seemingly no reason acquaintences gave us food - one rancher needed to get rid of some beef in their freezer to make room for more meet they were getting, another gave us lots of venison, another loved to fish and kept us supplied with fish. They didn't know what our financial situation was, but as soon as it improved, we stopped getting the gifts of food!

Do I see God's provision in this. YES! :whistling: As long as I do my part, God is always faithful.

by living a just, and upright, and blameless life, you will be provided for by the Lord,

as was stated above, we can not sit on our backsides and expect everything to be handed to us though, we must do our part......

this past summer, even though we (both wife and myself) were with out work, 9 house mortgages, a juvenile living at home, utilities, food, gas for the vehicles insurance (houses and vehicles), taxes (houses and vehicles), tags, and phone...we did fine, even when there were times that only about 50 dollars came in, 5 went in to tithes, and even other monies went in for missions, we still had plenty, not too much of an excess, but this also gave us a time to reflect on what is important..... it it not about stuff...... i do have to say that not a payment was missed, a few were late, but not missed.... since April/May time frame, i had been dropping appilications, and seeking interviews, i knew as soon as i got an interview, i would be ok...

because of age (they wont say it, but i believe that is the reason) i landed two interviews.... they did not have the application, only the resume'.............. during the interviews, i already knew by the way of the questions, i did not have the job ( again, felt it was due to age.... oh well....) but i kept going, finding what ever i could do..... and when we had no more money, again we kept tithing and i kept working to get interviews...... i landed a job that i was not even seeking, at a higher rate of pay then the ones i was seeking....

do not be lazy about it, we have to do our part..... you want an apple, go pick it... it is there, we have to do our part..... and dont blame Him, Praise Him.... God was and is t hanked for every bite we eat, for the shelter we have over our headss..... do not loose your joy.....

I think this is something we all worry about. My take is that God wants us to have faith in Him, not in specific results we think He should provide. A good example of this is in the book of Daniel. When Nebuchadnezzar threatened Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego with the furnace, this is what they said, when Nebuchadnezzer asked them who their god was and if he could rescue them:

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king, "Nebuchadnezzar, we don't need to give you an answer to this question. If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up."

Daniel 3:16-18 HCSB

They knew that God was able to rescue them. But even if He did not, their faith rested in God's character . Nemly that He is good and that He must have a higher purpose if situations seem to us to go sour. They believed what Paul said in Romans:

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 HCSB

This is something God has been teaching me through much worry. We have made a move across country to take on a new ministry, and the housing market has impacted our ability to sell our home in the time-frame that would have been best in our sight. He has been teaching us to trust in Him, not in what we see or think we need

It's through the rough times that our faith really grows. When things are going good and there are no real problems going on, it is human nature to relax our trust in Jesus. But when finances are thin and the world seems the be heavy around us, that is when our faith either breaks or it grows. God has always provided for our needs. Quite often we had to take a good look at what was a "need" and what was just a "want", but we have always had food, shelter, and clothing.

Will God really provide if something happens with my job, Can I truly trust him with my finance's  Is getting worried about finances please encourage me and let me know all will be ok.

I had a really nice job with excellent pay. Due to my income, and that of my wifes, we were living really good and all bills were paid with extra left over. I spent it very foolishly. (I should tell you that I was living in the flesh, even though I had accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.) After ten years, the company sold and I was laid off. Even though they gave me an excellent compensation package, it only lasted a few months. I tried one jab after another, with no real success. One night, I realized that it was my sin that took me out of Gods Grace and asked God to forgive me and help me (funny how it takes times like this to see just how much we need God), no matter what He wanted, I would do. A few days later, I was offered a job from this couple we knew, to do maintenance work around their house. It's lasted over a year now. The bills are paid and some left over to help others out.

God does provide!

Php 4:6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

If i feel I am going to worry about something I always come to these verses.

God has never let me down I have faith in Him and trust Him even though I cant see how things will turn out. Only God has the big picture His ways are higher than mine. I am glad cause I dont think it would be a good idea to put me in charge...lol

I always thank God and praise Him cause no matter what he is always on time never early or late but right on time.

Blessings to you. :emot-hug:

I'm glad you asked this question. It has encouraged me to read other's answers. I am in a really tight place financially. I tithe, manage my money frugally and pray asking God to give me wisdom in the decisions I make. I am praying that God will sell a certain property and condo I own before it goes into foreclosure (spelling?)

I do believe that as we do our part, God will do His part. I am trying to just rest in that.

I hope this helps.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
