"Oprah and Friends" To Teach Course on New Age Christ

Oprah Winfrey will be letting out all the stops on her XM Satellite Radio program this coming year. Beginning January 1, 2008,

Wow, if people are looking to Oprah as a spiritual leader, we are in trouble! Christians need to get into the Bible and away from new interpretations of it. We also need to be very vocal in telling friends and family that the Bible is truth.

Why is it that when someone becomes a celebrity, they lose their mind and will believe every looney bit of tripe that comes down the pike?

Celebrities won't believe in Jesus, but they'll believe that 75 million years ago an evil galactic ruler, named Xenu, solved overpopulation by bringing trillions of people to Earth in DC-8 space planes, stacking them around volcanoes and nuking them. Then the souls of these dead space aliens were captured and boxed up and taken to cinemas where they were shown films of what life should be like, false ideas containing God, the devil and Christ and told to get ill.

After that they supposedly clustered together and now inhabit our bodies, and that if they rid themselves of these body thetans then they will be healthier and will gain special powers like mind-over-matter?

A lame science fiction novel becomes one of the fastest growing religions among celebrities!

If I became a celeb, and someone told me that story with a straight face, I'd laugh them out of town!

Allow me to say she may not be a feminist, racist or a sell out.

I don't know her, but I know I don't like her attitude on certain issues.

It amazes me how people think an opinion is law just because someone is sitting in front of a camera.....

I'm not surprised with this at all. This is only part of the beginning of what we will witness in the end times.

I agree about keeping our eyes on God and studying His Word. Only through example will others see Christ in us. They will notice a difference and question how this is. Then we need to be ready with the answer.

I shouldn't be suprised really but I am. I wonder how similar this is to "The Alpha Course".

I am curious to your reference to the Alpha Course, it is run here in the uk and teaches all about the Jesus of the Bible our Jesus. about salvation etc etc etc. I do not think it is anything like the course that oprah is running.

the fact that this womans opinion can move mountains is what gets me

a few yeas ago she was suied by the meat industry becuase she said meat was bad for you and the meat industry almost went backrupt as women stoped bying meat for their families

her book of the month club if you get on that you have a best seller

etc

she has influence she has power and she has the will to make things change

she also calls herself a christian

if she is a christian I am the queen of England

if she can get christian women or men to opt into this Lord have mercy

She's very disingenuous; it's amazing to me that she can talk, talk, talk about "Jesus" on her show (I've heard some of them) then switch to her new age junk. I know part of it is a black-cultural thing, but she's also tapped into a huge market out there: spirituality.
