Maybe I'll get blasted for pointing this out...

Does it really surprise anyone that this person has started another thread complaining about their church? Seriously, why do you even still go?

I don't think so. I think it's showing reverence. I do interpretive sign language at my church and I sometimes do it with my shoes off. When God spoke to Moses through the burning bush, Moses took his shoes off. (or at least he did in the movie lol)

I remember one day at church that God had me get up and tell the people to take off their shoes "That they were standing on Holy Ground" and everyone did and after church some said that their feet were burning and felt on fire and they knew that it was the Lord and thanked me, so it does make one wonder, however I was brought up in church to show respect and wear my shoes, however there have been times when I have taken my shoes off in the pew, because I was more comfortable and ended up in front praying with/for someone and didn't have my shoes on and God still worked. So who is to say.

Just take it for what it is and blessing to all.

I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but if someone with bare feet is the only reason you left the fellowship of the Body of Christ, then I'm afraid your intent does not match God's heart. Why do you make this about you, when the Body has nothing to do with you (ie. your self, flesh, etc.)?

I understand that you feel that God, the saints, should be shown respect, however, in terms of the fellowship of the Body, which is essential in the life of all believers, should we not be willing to set aside, even crucify, our own personal preferences and concepts? Isn't the "show of suits and Sunday bests" merely a means of putting on an outward form of righteousness? Granted, we absolutely should dress appropriately, we should consider that being among the saints is not common, and should be revered. However, purposefully dividing oneself for the cause of something as simple as bare feet is really missing the point, and is, quite frankly, petty. On the one hand we should be willing to lay aside our concepts of "church" and yet on the other hand we should be equally balanced: Not too loose, and not to restrictive. Too lose and the Gospel becomes estranged, even damaged. Too restrictive and we kill the saints with religion.

I brought a couple family members as guests who also thought bare feet were strange and particularly "inappropriate" when they learned those were the pastor's daughters.

The girls sometimes go in and out during the service but do not say "excuse me" and scoot past other people in their row to get out. They actually stand up on the pew and walk across it to the end of the aisle. In our opinion, they are being disrespectful.

However, I'm not just leaving because of this. There are several things I don't like.

In Australia the aborigonal christians dont have dress codes especially in the out back and in country towns there kids walk around with out shoes and in my partners country the filapino christians dont have strict dress codes

the people that think we need to abide by dress codes need to think hard and do some digging look at Jesus life look also at how the disciples lived and the people in the villages Jesus and his disciples found them selves in

if you are ever in Australia and you come across an aborigonal christian church and start complaining you will get rebuked

we have single mothers in our new church in la castellana who breast feed their kids and its a no no where i live and it was a no no in the country community i moved from i know of a single mother that got told she was never to come to church all because she was breast feeding her new born child

so what the pastors daughters run around the church dont say excuse me we are not in the dark ages

when my partner preaches the kids are not told to be silent we alow the kids to have free reign one young girl comes up to my partner and my partner picks her up and contiues preaching

it puzzles me to how some christians like living in the dark ages

God bless from damo

It could easily been seen as a sign of respect to remove ones shoes before entering an establishment. Didn't God tell Moses to remove his shoes when approaching him?

This sounds like it might be pressing a button for you. But it's your button so you should seek some prayer for yourself. Lord I pray you bring wise counsel for this challenge.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
