  1. Thanks, but could you rephrase what you said a little to help your dense brother's (me) understanding?

  2. With that question I just wanted to clarify how we are, as enoob said, "denying our flesh and living to Scripture." There can be a fine line perceived here, as to the effective & profitable way to go about this. For instance, if we try to live what Jesus spoke (e.g., Matt 5 - love enemies & "be perfect") from our own energies, we will fail miserably. I think perhaps this one verse in Romans 8:13 says it most concisely: "If by the s/Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live." (if we take out "by the spirit" we are just left with the flesh trying to deny the flesh . . . or a self-sourced religion)

  3. I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone, but the Lord and I seem to have settled into a way to deal with much of the flesh's temptations. When those come and they do often while walking in this world and the thoughts that are in the data base of my mind, I turn away and tell the Lord that my 'loyalty' is to Him.

  4. The apostle Paul was unique: Paul compared himself to other apostles in various ways, often emphasizing his unique position and experiences. He defended his apostleship through the miracles he performed, which were considered signs of apostolic ministry. He referred to himself as "one born at the wrong time," suggesting an abnormal manner of becoming an apostle, which he saw as proof of his apostleship. 1 Corinthians 15:8 (KJV) And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. He included himself among a wider group of apostles beyond the Twelve, mentioning his experience of seeing the risen Christ after the ascension. I believe Paul was personally mentored by Jesus Himself at or around Mount Sinai (Jebal Musa) for three years. Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. We assume this sojourn in Arabia, lasting as long as three years (1:18), probably started shortly after Paul’s conversion in about the year A.D. 32 (Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead at about the year A.D. 30, and a number of events occurred in the early Christian church between that time and Paul’s conversion).[1] Galatians 1:17-18 (KJV) Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. Paul was the only one given the honor and privilege to reveal essential mysteries about the church, the Rapture, and the Resurrection. Paul’s writings have been obfuscated by the father of lies through other religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam (72 virgins, other ways to heaven, etc.). Today, humanity has an aversion and hatred of absolutes, and where our morals and values originate. The mantra and character today are that we are our own gods. The earth dwellers today choose darkness over truth. Paul was given to the Gentiles. Galatians 2:7-8 (KJV) But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) [1] W. Harold Mare, New Testament Background Commentary: A New Dictionary of Words, Phrases and Situations in Bible Order (Ross-shire, UK: Mentor, 2004), 291.

  5. There is only one gospel. There is no difference between Jew and gentile in Jesus. The middle wall of partition has been broken down. The two (Jew and Gentile), have been made one in Christ. Ephesians 2:14 KJV “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;” Ephesians 2:15 KJV “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;” The entire nation of Israel, who was broken off, can individually be grafted back into the original tree (Israel) through Christ, with the gentiles being grafted in for the first time, are all told to endure - there is no separation. Romans 11:19-23 KJV 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. We have to take Paul’s epistles along with the other epistles as one gospel in Christ. Ephesians 4:4-6 KJV 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Ephesians 6: 10¶Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,fn against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  7. Yes, it is an invasion. " Mexico Is Complicit In The L.A. Riots " The appearance of Mexican flags in the L.A. riots is exactly what it appears to be: a declaration of war by a foreign power. Just as the Chinese Communist Party regards every ethnic Chinese person living inside the United States as a subject of the PRC, regardless of their citizenship status in the U.S., the MORENA government in Mexico sees the presence of large numbers of Mexican nationals living in the U.S. as a strategic asset that can be, if needed, mobilized to advance its own interests. " As mentioned above, MORENA has long partnered with major cartels and drug-trafficking organizations inside Mexico that are directly implicated in the migrant crisis that unfolded during the Biden years. As I’ve written previously, if the cartels are terrorist organizations, Mexico is their state sponsor. What this means is that the cartel-state partnership in Mexico has a vested interest in ensuring the Trump administration is unable to carry out its plans to secure the border. 9. Torah/Bible portion and Study: "Naso" (take) Numbers 4:21-7:89 This week's portion of Torah/Bible study is centered on the jobs and service of the Levites in the Tabernacle (Mishkan). As we read, we will note that the families of Gershon, Merari, and Kohat have been selected for different tasks in the setting up and taking down, transporting, and setting up again. Remember that the Children of Israel will be taking their journeys in the desert for 40 years (not the original plan of God) but due, to negativity, and rebellion, (the 12 spies) they had to spend 40 years wandering, (but always being guided) by God. It is interesting to note the roots of the names; Gershon, Merari, and Kohat, as they tell us a story, our story as well. "Gershon" (Ger) a sojourner, "Merari"(maror) Bitterness, and "Kohat" (Kahal) congregation. We are all "sojourners" on this planet called "Earth" because our permanent home is the New Jerusalem, the City of God, and while we go through "bitterness" in our lives, we are still united together by our congregations. Israel wandered in the desert, enduring times of "bitterness" yet still united as ONE people (Am Echad) by the ONE true God (Adonai-Elohim) The families of Levi were in charge of the service of the Tabernacle (Avodah) is the Hebrew word for "Service" and each of the three families had specific jobs or tasks (Mishmeret) as the Hebrew states in 4:28. Some were to carry the Tabernacle furniture on their shoulders by poles, (being covered at all times) others had the job of taking down the curtains and poles, putting them on carts (also covered) drawn by pairs of oxen. 4 pairs of oxen in all, and 4 carts. They would do this at the commencement of every move, and they would put up the Tabernacle at the next campsite. These were specific jobs and tasks that God assigned them through the guidance and instruction of Moses. Everyone had a job to do within the service of the Tabernacle. We, as born-again believers, in the body of Messiah, also have jobs and tasks to do as part of "service" There are many gifts of the Spirit that enable us to perform our tasks; Ref: 1 Corinthians 4-11; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11-16. Some believers have the gifts of teaching, while others have that of evangelism, others are pastors and rabbis, and others have the gift of service, intercession, prayer warriors, music, healing, tongues (the ability to speak different languages), and the list can go on, we could expand to missionary aviation pilots, missionary doctors, and nurses, etc. "Prophecy" is mentioned, and that would come under "teaching" of the WORD. We may not be biblical prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, or Daniel, but those who teach are in the role of prophets. The prophets of old received the Word from God to relay to the people. There were no Bible bookstores back then, so the only source of God's Word came from the mouths of the prophets. We DO have God's Word in print, so, as teachers, we need to convey and interpret the Word of God accurately within (hopefully) the original Hebraic perspective so that those who listen can understand well. So, being in the body of Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, we all perform and partake in "service" (Avodah) and perform our tasks (Mishmeret) The root of that word is "Mishmor" or the verb "Sh+m+r" (Hebrew verbs consist of three letters) in this case, we could say "Shmar" (to guard or protect) We are guarding and protecting our "service" from the attacks of the enemy (Satan) who wishes to destroy us. In the word "Avodah" there are the letters "AD" which means "witness" There are always witnesses to our service, the angels in Heaven and also, unclean spirits (demonic entities) are watching with rage, wishing to devour and thwart our work. Waiting to throw a monkey wrench into the machinery. So, just as the families of the Levites were counted and performed their duties in ministry, so we ALL are counted and selected to perform our spiritual gifts within the body of Messiah. We ALL work for the common GOOD as we are all ONE in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus our LORD and Savior) Chapter 5 deals with expelling from the camp those with skin diseases (Tzara'at) We wonder why. Wouldn't that be cruel? Yet we need to understand the deeper reason. Many times, spiritual rebellion and impurity result in physical revelation. The physical body reveals to others the inner rebellion, gossip, slander, backbiting, hatred, etc. So, as the LORD walks in the camp, YHVH is All Holy, and these people need to taken outside the camp until their diseases are gone, until they repent, and then a priest will examine them, and if they are clean, they will be brought back inside the camp. We can't say that ALL skin diseases result from "Leshon Hara" (evil speech) but there is evidence that in many cases, that was the case. As believers, we need to be holy inside, have pure thoughts, and walk like the MASTER, being careful never to slander, or speak evil of others, especially those of the faith. Who knows if the "rash" that itches is a result of something like that? Chapter 6 deals with the "Nazir" or the "Nazarite vow" Back then, a person would "vow" to serve the LORD for "x" amount of months or years. Not cut his hair, not to drink wine or eat grapes, and not to touch any corpse. Samuel was a nazir, and Samson was a nazir. Paul took the "Nazarite vow" to prove to those around him that he lived by the Torah. Today, we might set aside a period to serve the LORD in some special capacity, for "x" amount of months or years. It doesn't mean we have to let our hair grow or abstain from wine or grape juice, but just be serious in what we wish to do, and honor our word to serve God, according to how the Holy Spirit leads us. But it doesn't mean to go and be a hermit alone on some mountaintop, away from people. Ministry and service is all about PEOPLE. Also, chapter 6 is where we find the Aaronic Blessing. What is it saying to us? MAY YHVH BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU This is written in the Hebrew “singular” YOU not the plural YOU, because Israel, and all believers today are as ONE (Echad) in unity and ONE in fellowship, Adonai KEEPS us by “guarding us against curses and calamity, against sickness, poverty, He delivered our souls from the curse of sin, through Yeshua HaMashiach. HOWEVER, we can, through rebellion, bring on to ourselves these curses! MAY YHVH MAKE HIS FACE SHINE UPON YOU AND BE GRACIOUS UNTO YOU. The idea of “shine” is happiness, purity, and friendship so, May “P’nei (faces of) Adonai” bring happiness to you and keep you pure “tahor” and bring to you many friends, also GRACIOUS is from the Hebrew “Chen” (grace) something that is not merited, by GRACE we are saved, not by our own merit, He showed us the “Face of Grace” in YESHUA HaMASHIACH who is our YESHUAH (salvation) LIFT UP HIS COUNTENANCE UPON YOU AND GIVE YOU PEACE. May YHVH give his “attention” to you and direct to you, and may you rest in HIS SHALOM! When we have Yeshua as Mashiach, we have that internal shalom, despite the world around us being in a lot of “unrest” So THEY SHALL PUT MY NAME ON THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL AND I WILL BLESS THEM. We can see that one of the names of God which is EL, is part of the name “YisraEL” and the most sacred name; YHVH is part of “Y’HUdaH (Judah) The blessing is for all believers since we have all been grafted into the Community/Commonwealth of Israel. Shalom.

Christ came to be Israel`s king legally from the line of David. 3. Christ came to bring the Old Testament saints to heaven to wait for their inheritance in the New Jerusalem that would eventually go down to the Universal area to be the administrative center of the universe bringing together the spiritual and physical realms. 4. Christ came to be the Head of His Body that would be like Him and rule from the third heaven on His own throne. 5. Christ came to be the Worthy one who would rule over all of God`s great Kingdom. 6. Christ came to defeat the enemy and legally take back all that Satan had usurped. 7. Christ came to do the Father`s Will.

  12. sorry but this is not your chair alone! 1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) [2] And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. As this verse indicates >no man< has perfect knowledge and won't till we leave this place so you don't get the dense seat alone! we all own a chunk of it... I was referring to the fact that none of any of this will be retained in the eternal state Isaiah 65:17 (KJV) [17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Revelation 21:1 (KJV) [21:1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. As making all things new I take very literally for the Isa passage says the former things will no longer come to mind... Thus, fulfilling the perfect unchanging will of God from all eternity -sin never had place in His eternal realm... and why we are considered in fulfillment of this verse below as well Matthew 19:14 (KJV) [14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Is it not the good son to not look back to what is being burnt up and forgotten, a major understanding of Lot's wife, but forward to that which shall never end... part of that flesh verse s/Spirit stuff we talked about earlier... Luke 9:62 (KJV) [62] And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. and why John warns us of this 1 John 2:15 (KJV) [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. As we know ->that which is kept is of God and that which is not kept is not of God...

  13. Well, was the Comforter given at Pentecost or in John 20? "The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit." (1 Cor 15:45) I think this life-giving Spirit occurred at resurrection and is synonymous with the Comforter.

  14. Jesus Christ let them know that they are in him and He is in them. They were the New Creation they were Created in Him. They were in HIS ETERNAL LIFE. He let them know that they are in the New Covenant. Jesus is the ETERNAL LIFE. His trials and his tribulations came to the end on the Cross when He died. With his death Jesus ushers in the New Covenant. They samething happens with everyone who believes in him. This was to let them know what happens to everyone who believes in him. That's the point. Jesus did not do that to anyone else after that. He stay with them for forty days teaching them a lot of things. Forty days of resurrection teachings. And they were able to understand what Jesus was telling them and they said " the Comforter had not come yet because Jesus was not yet Glorified. The Comforter was not on earth yet. The Comforter was with the Heavenly Father and it was given to Jesus when Jesus was Glorified. And Jesus sent the Comforter to his disciples and to the rest. And from that day on the Holy Spirit the Comforter to those who believed in him in in the world. To convict the world of Sin to testify that it is truth about Jesus. The Holy Spirit of Pentecost not to confuse your self with the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. You must discern the distinction. No one had it because it was released from Jesus Christ on the Day of Pentecost who is in Heaven and it was given to Him from the Heavenly Father. It takes from the Glorified Jesus and represents Jesus Christ, it?was given on the name of the Glorified Jesus Christ. Before Jesus was not ascended He was not Glorified He was not sitted on his Gloriius Throne. Jesus is with the Heavenly Father. No one can take Jesus from the Heavenly Father and bring Him to earth again. Within the meaning that He is on earth and He is absent from Heaven.

  15. I've heard this many times: the Lord doesn't speak to anyone directly. Praise the Lord that I don't suffer from such a malady, that I should ignore the voice of the Lord who has spoken to me from the beginning because others don't believe. It's simple: I speak to the Lord, and He speaks to me. Is He is not capable of doing whatever He pleases? Or, is the Lord defined by the beliefs of men, that He ought to conform to their expectations? Certainly not. Hearing the voice of the Lord is not as rare or uncommon as some insist. On the contrary, many of my brethren do hear His voice... they speak to the Lord, and He speaks to them. For all of the talk about avoiding feelings and the like, that's what a relationship with the Lord is reduced to according to the quote from the OP. It's my heart to encourage those who are the subject of scorn and ridicule, just like I was myself: remember who the Lord is, and who you are. You are His beloved!

  16. Not completely sure what the timeline or details are that you are conveying (or objecting to). What I see in scripture seems pretty simple: 1. When Jesus was with the disciples before the cross, they had Him in physical form. 2. After His resurrection, He "breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" (John 20) As Spirit, Christ could be received into them, causing rebirth. 3. He then was with them (and hundreds of others), teaching and fellowshipping with them for the next 40 days. (Acts 1 & 1 Cor 15:6) 4. Before His ascension in Acts 1, He told His chosen apostles to remain in Jerusalem to "be baptized" with the gift His Father promised and Jesus had previously spoken about - the Holy Spirit. 5. Ten days after His ascension (Pentecost), the apostles received the Holy Spirit descending on them. It came upon them and filled them with power to preach and do amazing miracles among the multitudes there. Is there a question about one of these points? (I see this as two aspects of the one Spirit. One aspect is for the believers regeneration; the other aspect is for power.)

Its like saying that because I don't like all the features on my car, or the secular places I have to go to buy necessities so I refuse to put gas in my car or do maintenance on it . . . eventually . . . it will quit and I will be walking to church . . . .

As He said to me once when I asked about this man yelling at all the people going into this movie "Lord is he of you?" He came right back said "if he is not against me he is for me". Its not something the lord would do but the fact he was not against Christ. Point is not a good example haha.. there is no middle ground. Now He did say if you were blind you would have no sin you say you see your sin remains. 24. i can understand the core principle and concept of when a woman says that she can do everything a man can do. The woman is explaining that she is human, she has two hands and feet, she has a mind that is very intelligent and in these features she is 100 % exactly as male. Because, we can understand that everything that is built, designed around us and the implementation, applications and tools we use to make and perform work are many times designed to accommodate a very strong male with much power and strength.... shovels and picks for digging, axes for chopping and hammers and saws meaning every single detail about the teeth on a hand saw is designed for the ability of the strongest, most powerful human being with great strength to cut using the most force possible for the strongest of all humans . this is the way productivity and business and money is made,... many tools and implements are not designed for a woman or a man with lower muscle mass and body strength. For example, the lug nuts on a many vehicles are designed exactly " " ONLY " for the stronger of males to handle removing and tightening these nuts... if they were bigger lug nuts and bigger bots even the stronger males damage their bodies attempting to loosen and tighten these lug nuts this is the way so many, many things around us are made and designed with exact precision, exact shape, size and with the exact features to ensure that the strongest and most muscular of humanity are able to use these tools and features to quickly complete the task........ if a shovel was any heaver and sturdier if an axe or pick was stronger and heavier if the teeth on a handsaw were shaped any different or larger if a hammer was any heavier if packing cardboard boxes were any bigger and thicker if work boots were any heavier and thicker the average male would be incapable of using these tools and we see this most everywhere throughout or society. we see in the Bible that there were a at least 6 total female prophets in the Old Testament 1. the unnamed Female Prophetess in Isaiah 8:3 2. Anna 3. Mariam 4. Juldah 5. Noadiah 6. Deborah The New Testament mentions 4 female prophets: as - the four daughters of Philip the evangelist. also Joe 2:28 I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh ........ your daughters shall prophesy, 1Co 11:5 all women that ............ prophecy ✒ Also…. please consider ---- it was not a worldly, spontaneous and natural ability for women to travel abroad, traversing and trekking – wandering alone through the deserts, wildernesses and throughout the dangerous mobs of men, to give the prophecy of God to very many people outside of their own close circle of friends and family. i believe that women are amazing and that they work very hard and society and have faced many challenges and obstacles with courage and overcame some of the most hardships imaginable.

  25. Indeed! As for myself, I wonder where I'd be in my Christian life without chapters like Romans 7-8! In those chapters, Paul lays out the foundational nuts and bolts of our so-great-a-salvation via "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus." And exposes the flesh and what we can expect from it. And so, so much more!

  27. I had those thoughts myself my first time through the Bible. Was his contribution needed? Jesus said everything he needed to say. He made things very clear, then Paul was all about the church which is corrupted by man. The church that has veered away from what the Bible originally taught. What I keep going back to is I don't believe God would allow that deception in the Bible. He couldn't possibly allow people to trust in Paul if he was going against God. Then there were all of the sacrifices Paul made to spread the Gospel. Being beaten, jailed, shipwrecked. I don't doubt it anymore.

  28. I overheard a conversation once that touched on this. What it boiled down to was that Jesus seemed to simplify things, based on things like the two great commandments, the policy of showing mercy to obtain mercy, and emphasis on our hearts being in the right place. Then when you look at Paul he delved into some more complicated concepts and some standards of behavior. I personally don't see an incompatibility. They each had their own points of emphasis. The different perspectives and approaches are going to appeal and make more sense to different people. I've gotten a lot out of his writings as well. Romans 14, the body of Christ, a few parts of Philippians, and not causing others to stumble are the ones that I find myself referencing the most when I speak to others using Paul's writings.

Bureau Staff (Worthy News) – A North Carolina church is rallying to protect nearly two dozen Afghan Christian refugees from deportation after the Trump administration announced the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Afghanistan, effective July 14. Julie Tisdale, a seminary student and advocate from Church of the Apostles in Raleigh, has criticized the administration’s decision, saying it endangers believers who face severe persecution — and likely death — if returned to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. “These people are not economic migrants,” Tisdale said in an interview with The Christian Post. “They’re Christians. And for that alone, they are hunted by the Taliban.” Tisdale has been lobbying members of Congress to intervene, but so far, no one in Washington has emerged as a strong advocate. “We’ve had sympathetic ears, but no champion,” she said. “These believers have already faced torture for converting. If sent back, they will not survive.” The Department of Homeland Security, under Secretary Kristi Noem, said in a May 14 statement that Afghanistan’s improving security situation no longer meets the criteria for TPS. Noem added that DHS records show some TPS recipients are under investigation for fraud or pose national security concerns. But Tisdale strongly disputes that narrative. Citing Open Doors’ World Watch List, which ranks Afghanistan as the 10th worst country for Christian persecution, she says any return would be a death sentence. “Conversion is punishable by death. These men and women have already been imprisoned and tortured. The Taliban won’t stop at deportation; they will kill them.” The affected church members are in various stages of the immigration process — some waiting on green cards, others appealing asylum denials, or applying for legal permanent residency. The church has stepped in to provide financial and logistical support, even covering legal fees and daily transportation for refugee families. Evangelist Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, has also raised the issue with lawmakers. “I know this is being discussed at the highest levels,” he said, adding that Senator Lindsey Graham and others have communicated directly with President Trump. “I’ve been told the deadline has been extended so that cases can be reviewed. We’re hopeful.” Despite assurances, Tisdale remains concerned. “We’re doing all we can,” she said. “But time is running out — and their lives are on the line.” The post North Carolina Church Fights Deportation of Afghan Christians as DHS Ends Protection Status appeared first on Worthy Christian News.
