  1. Only God knows whether the decision to let God end their lives was a selfish motive or an unselfish one. Some people know that their health is getting progressively worse and there is no earthly solution, so they stop taking their medications and leave it in God's hands. They don't want to be a burden to their families or possibly even do harm to them. They commit their lives to God. Even Jesus refused the sop. Other people commit suicide to escape, thinking it is the end to their problems; satan has deceived them so they blow their heads off with a shot gun. God knows their motives and the reason. I have prayed and witnessed to some of those and grieved for them.
  2. 2Ti 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. 2Ti 4:15. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words. I also have a cousin who has been abusive toward me for 70 years. I have finally given up on her. She is supposed to be a Christian but continues to lure me into trusting her again and then deals treacherously with me. A few years ago I finally said no, I don't need this. Enough is enough. I can forgive you but I can't trust you. I am not bitter toward her but truly saddened and wondering how genuine her faith is that she would treat another Christian so cruely. I still tend to believe the best of people. Love believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. But we don't have to be stupid. There are some people who are just dangerous and cruel and we don't need to place ourselves or our families in harm's way.
  3. The 10 commandments are for our good, our well being, to keep us out of trouble of dreadful guilt and repercussions. We are to forgive for our own peace of mind and well being. It is not for the other person's good, it is for our own. Unforgiveness causes bitterness and corruption of our own souls. We must be at least willing to forgive, or ask God to make us willing (which is asking for chastening). To be unwilling is to be unmindful of the grace God has bestowed on us by forgiving us. Heb 12:15 ESV See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;" Col 3:12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, Col 3:13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Col 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
  4. the quote function didn't work properly or someone misquoted and perverted the gospel. "Paul is asserting that if Christ is not risen those who fall asleep (die) are perished, there is no resurrection, no eternal life, only an eternal nothingness." He is saying that if Christ didn't arise from the dead there is no hope for us. AS SAID, Paul was refuting the Jew who didn't believe in the resurrection. However, I don't know that "eternal nothingness" is ever taught in Scripture.
  5. Mat 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there Mar 6:46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. Psa 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. Psa 23:3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
  6. That is how many of us were feeling when they finally opened our amphitheater for Sunday Services. The progressives had been trying to get the churches out of the way so they could further their agenda and they have almost done it. The supreme court even approved closing down churches. We really are getting more like China all the times.
  7. As the deer pants after the channels of water, so my soul pants after You, O God. Psa 42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and see the face of God?
  8. Now the anarchist mayors of some of those cities need to get on board as well.
  9. God has answered so many prayers in may life on a daily basis that I don't dare not to believe. I rely on Him and am so blest by His presence in my life. If He never answered a prayer He would still be worthy of my adoration and praise simply because of His Character and the fact that He created the universe. He is the Almighty everlasting God. Hallelujah!
  10. Check out Home Depot's web page. They have a wide selection.
  11. Your friend hasn't read much of the Bible. Read the Old Testament where it speaks of the sins of the nations Israel was to destroy in the Promised Land, or where the Law prohibits them practicing those vile things.
  12. We still have to pick and choose on Hallmark. They have had the show The Good Witch for some time now. I don't watch it because there is no such thing as a GOOD witch. God has condemned all practicing any kind of witchcraft. However, they have been showing Little House OTP on some of their newer channels they have introduced as well as the Waltons and other old favorites. I like Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. But they rotate all of their shows through the channels anyhow. We get their love stories and Christmas shows year round on Movies and Mysteries which means I watch them less all the time. There is a lot of pressure to have at least one LGBT whatever during their season. It is call conditioning to remove our prejudice. That doesn't work on God.
  13. Some people like 7th Day Adventists believe the only people going to heaven are those who worship on Saturday! Aren't they going to be surprised?
  14. I used to kick myself for sinning after I had asked God to forgive me. Then God spoke to my heart and asked me if I thought my passing judgement on myself was a higher court than His judgement. What business did I have to condemn myself after He had pardoned me? It really shamed me. Then He told me that when I was down on myself and angry with myself that I was not able to be a blessing to my family. In fact, I needed to ask Him to refill me with His Holy Spirit so that He could continue to use me. The bottom line is that we need to get over it and move on, walking in the Spirit. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
  15. Every method can be good if it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and built upon the Word of God.
  16. Perhaps I chose the wrong word. The soulish nature or self gets in the way. Col 3:12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, Col 3:13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Col 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
  17. Read your New Testament daily and fill your mind with God's word. Pray. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Rom 7:19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Rom 7:21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. Rom 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Some find it helpful to listen to Christian music to keep their minds on the things of God. I have found the current isolation due to covid 19 to be detrimental. We tend to become more introverted, which doesn't help. When I was around others, even strangers, I could strike up a conversation, get to know a little about them and share about Jesus with them.
  18. 2Co 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2Co 12:10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Do check out our poetry club.
  19. After you have been greeted and vetted you will be able to post this in the video section where it must be approved by staff. Sorry we are so picky, there have been good reasons for it all to keep out solicitors and trash. Meanwhile the link will be removed. Blessings. Looking forward to getting acquainted in our forums.
  20. The Lord clearly tells us there will be no fornicators in heaven. (people who have sex outside of marriage). You must love and fear God more than you relationship with your boyfriend. You BF will have different goals and different values than you, and it will take you in opposite directions. If you compromise your values that God gives you, you will be miserable and eventually grow cold toward God, not praying or reading the Bible. It is a slow death. I beg you to make Jesus your Lord by heeding the warnings in His word.
  21. "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" For God works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure. That last part is the most important. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to clean us up and change us into Christ's image. Corrie tenBoom said it is a simple sinking into God's will, not some heroic effort. 2Co 3:18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
  22. It is true that the heavens are being stretched out, expanding.
  23. It is my hope that my mom, dad and husband will welcome me to heaven. If they are not there I don't think I will miss them because of being so overwhelmed by the glory of the Lord. Reread what Debp said. We don't go to heaven by being good enough. We go to heaven because Christ was good enough in our place. He took our failings and imperfections on Himself on the cross and in exchange gave us His righteousness so we are clean in God's eyes. We can come straight to Him in prayers.
  24. We have the power of the Holy Spirit within us, the same power that raised Christ from the grave. To utilize the potential we must walk in obedience, walking in the Spirit and following His leading. However, our flesh still gets in the way even when we are doing our best. God continues to remove the dross through trials, yet we are not faultless till we go to be with the Lord. So the full potential to do God's will is never reached in this life. Jesus said in acts 1 that He gave us this power to witness. It is still God who does the work of saving and transforming people.
  25. We must still steer in the directions the navigator gives us. He directs our paths. I understand what you are saying. But if you don't follow the headings the Navigator gives, you are not following His Lordship. The Pilot has free will. We need to make the Navigator our Lord to make the analogy work.
