  1. Joh 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. Joh 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. Joh 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. Joh 6:40 AMP For this is My Father's will and His purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day. Joh 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. Joh 6:65 And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father." Jhn 15:16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. Rom 6:23 AMP For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord. 1Jo 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life Joh 3:36 AMP And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.] [Hab 2:4]
  2. Her voice brings tears to my eyes. Of course the acoustics are great in the subway, which is why she likes to sing there. I hope someone might gift her with a violin. Many places hire vocalists, especially Jewish synagogs. I knew someone trained in opera who worked in one in San Francisco. They paid well.
  3. We can't dismiss idol worship as superstition. The power behind idolatry is demonic. 1Co 10:19 ESV What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 1Co 10:20 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. 1Co 10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. I understand that you are saying we need to see a person's heart. We need to have compassion on them.
  4. 2Co 7:10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
  5. Technically, It would seem that they should separate and not marry until both are saved. 2Co 6:14 ESV Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?2Co 6:15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 2Co 6:16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”[
  6. 1Ti 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. 1Ti 5:18 For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves his wages." This is referring to the pastor who tirelessly preaches and teaches the Scriptures should receive twice the pay of the rest of the church employees.
  7. repentance means turning from sin conversion is turning to God. Jesus preached repentance. turning to Christ as Lord over their lives brings salvation and being born again.
  8. You have watched your son suffer, Abby, and can identify with what it cost the Father to watch His Son suffer for our sin. Still, I am praying for you both, and for Lady Kay. I remember the words of Jesus to Peter. Luk 22:31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. Luk 22:32 “But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” We don't have to earn God's blessing. Jesus bought that for us on the cross. We have His love beyond measure. He expects us to freely share His love and forgiveness with others, especially with family and those hardest for us to love. Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Rom 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Rom 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:36 As it is written: "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER." Rom 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  9. Lady Alaska, I felt the same as you when my husband was alive. But I recognized that it was the Father's love that lived in my husband, and that was why I felt closer. Also, my husband was my prayer partner and I loved the way the Spirit would move on each of us inspiring the others prayers. I miss that part of my life terribly. Yet since he has been gone God has not let me down but continually encourages me.
  10. Yes, His Spirit lives in me crying Daddy!
  11. I have been attending a small Missionary Baptist Church's Wednesday night Bible study. On the wall in the sanctuary is posted the church covenant. In it is an agreement to give to the church. I personally want to and do give to this church, even though it is not my home church. But I will not join such a church and be put under bondage to give there. I did that once before, and as soon as I did our income was cut by 1/4 and I couldn't continue to give gifts above my tithes. Moreover, I was shamed when the church treasurer contacted me and demanded the money. We are told not to owe any man anything but love. Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
  12. 1Ti 1:8 NKJV But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 1Ti 1:9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1Ti 1:10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 1Ti 1:11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. Gal 3:22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Gal 3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Gal 3:25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Gal 5:13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Gal 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. We are set free from the law so that we may walk in the Spirit in love. When God's love leads us to serve each other we are no longer under the law yet are fulfilling the law.
  13. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, Eph 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, Eph 5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. It is important to remember how much Christ loves the Church. That includes all the imperfect people like you and me. If Christ lives in us, we will love His church. We are all in the process of being cleansed and being changed into the likeness of Christ, from glory to glory. Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Eph 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Eph 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, Eph 4:2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, Eph 4:3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. I have to add that the things that irritate me the most about others are often the very things that God is pointing to in my own life. Or else He is after my self righteousness, or both. It is not till I fully realize the ugliness of my own sin that I can forbear others in love as God does. Thanks be to God that God demonstrates His love toward us in that it was while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us!
  14. Perhaps ask your lawyer what he thinks.
  15. It is not the fruit of the tree that was important, it was rebellion against God that was what was so bad. That was satan's sin as well, and they fell into satan's domain when they ate of the tree.
  16. Jesus said He is the bread of life, and that His words are spirit and life. So while the Father knows we have need of daily physical food, we also need daily spiritual food, that of drawing near to our God and being infused with Life from Him. That is our true strength for the day and our daily bread.
  17. This post is both thought provoking and humbling.
  18. We can identify with Christ through our sufferings. He suffered physically for us, and knows how to pray for us while we are suffering because He has suffered horribly in His scourging and on the cross. We can identify with His emotional suffering, because He was despised and rejected by men as well. We can identify with Christ in His temptations because He was tempted in all ways like we are yet without sin. Identifying with Christ helps us to have heart knowledge. Praising and worshipping God for all He is, and thanking God for all He has done for us also helps us to have heart knowledge. God inhabits the praises of His people. We draw near to Him when we worship in spirit and in truth.
  19. 1Jn 1:7 ESV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin The indication is that we are not being continually cleansed by the blood of Jesus if we are not in fellowship with God and other Christians. It is important to be open to the correction of others. It is also important to know the difference between the correction of God and the condemnation of the enemy. God never condemns us. Oftentimes when we are hurt by others, the part of us that is wounded is our pride. Pride is sin and needs to be destroyed. At least that has been my experience. It does hurt, but it is needful when we don't know how to humble ourselves. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. John the Baptist's words ring true: I must decrease that He might increase. Pride and self must decrease for Jesus to increase and live through us. So we are told to bless those who persecute us and pray for those who spitefully use us. Heb 10:24 NKJV And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. It is needful to be fit together in the body of Christ. We will spend eternity among our brothers and sisters. It is best to learn to be a blessing to them now.
  20. The idea of replacement theology began with Augustine's "City of God" claiming that Rome is now Jerusalem. It goes on to make all of the Revelation an allegory as well as many other prophesies in old and new Testaments. It is safest to interpret the Bible as literally as possible unless stated otherwise.
  21. 2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
  22. Jesus did not marry , did not fornicate or sin, and had no son. I have heard a mormon teaching that Jesus had a son.
  23. It would seem that Marion disapproved of Moses' second wife who was Ethiopian. When she and Aaron revolted against Moses she became a leper. It seems that Mr Jones did not have the mind of Christ in these matters. God sees only the saved and the lost. Num 12:1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. -- Num 12:7 Not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house. Num 12:8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” Num 12:9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them, and he departed. Num 12:10 When the cloud removed from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, like snow. And Aaron turned toward Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.
  24. We are told that a merry heart does good like a medicine. God's humor is kind, not cruel. It is healthy, not sick, and it is good.
  25. Love. This is the first thing God started teaching me when I started to read Scripture and was so missing in my life. Without love I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. While God has used me in other gifts, like a word of wisdom or the gift of giving, and occasionally that of prophecy for the edification exhortation and comfort of others, they are all useless drivel without love.
