  1. Hello and welcome iwannabewiththelord I will pray for you, and I am sure others will too. I hope you don't mind if I ask you these questions: Can you tell us whether you have surrendered your life to God? Do you feel you have a relationship with Him, or do you think you are "born again", to put it another way? You see, if you have truly surrendered everything in your life to Jesus, and have had that "born again" experience, you will have the power that He gives you to fight against these things. You can reject these thoughts by saying "The blood of Jesus has cleansed me from all sin." "The Lord Jesus died on Calvary to set me free from sin." You can claim the promises in God's Word for your own life. Believe me, the more you concentrate on reading God's Word and praying to Him and praising Him for all He has done for you, the better things will get. You will get to know how to reject the enemy from lying to you. You will develop a wonderful relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and He will help you; giving you understanding, comfort and love. Do you have other Christians around you that you can talk to - people who can help you and pray for you? Life will always have its difficulties, but He will be with you as you learn to overcome and grow in Him. He has paid the price for all your sin, but you have to do your part, which is obey His commandments, talk to Him, seek His help through His people, and promise to follow Him all of your days. If you sin, God will convict you. Confess the sin to God, and ask His forgiveness. On the other hand, if you have not known the born again experience, and know that you do not have that relationship with Jesus that every true Christian must have, then you need to pray and ask God to forgive you - repent from all sin. Believe in Him. Get to know Him. John 1:12,13 tells us that we can receive Him. Read it for the full verse and context. Tell the Lord you need Him and the salvation He has offered you by sacrificing His life on the cross for you. Ask Him to lead you to the right people - ask questions here if you like and you will get some wonderful people to help you understand the gospel. Read the Bible - make it your mission to read and study every day. Put God first every day in prayer to Him, asking Him to lead you all day long. He loves you, tell Him you love Him and want to be his child. Be blessed. I hope I have helped you.
  2. Hello turtletwo I, too, thank the Lord for the inspired words He has given you to glorify and praise Him for His creation! We rejoice with you when we look at the evidence of God in all His wonderful creation. Looking forward to the next offering from you, tt.
  3. Hello Debp I want to give you a big thumbs-up for being so knowledgeable about missions. How wonderful! We all hear about the magnificent work of the Lord amongst people in other countries and how God is moving by bringing many Muslims to salvation. Being able to read all this, though, is the icing on the cake. Thank you very much, sister.
  4. Absolutely agree, turtletwo. How I enjoyed those early days in my walk with the Lord, learning and growing, soaking up everything truly Christian and becoming totally in love with Jesus.
  5. Hey Gandalf.... I know you are younger than me but these are the same people I listened to when I got born again in 1978. There are a lot more too. I was actually thinking of 2nd Chapter of Acts - although it is really about Acts Chapter 2 - when I went for this username! Did you ever hear Barry McGuire (I am pretty sure it was him; someone correct me if I am wrong, please) talk about the time he was on a boat and they saw some dolphins? He grabbed a "dish towel", bent down over the edge of the boat and touched them with it and they loved the game, coming back for more..... and there were quite a few of them, by the sounds of it. I listened to that story on my "tape" many times. It seemed to be one of his treasured memories.
  6. I know some people whose surname is Cant. That is all I know about a cant or Cantor lol. Though I can sing in tune and keep time, I am not a gifted singer and don't know much about music, technically speaking.
  7. Hello friends We have quite a few of these little "Scripture in Song" booklets published in New Zealand and Australia, and distributed to a lot of other countries. Book One, of Songs of Praise, revised edition, was published in 1981/ 1983. They are a compilation of songs taken from Psalms and other scripture and put to music. David and Dale Garratt were instrumental in putting the booklets together, and people such as myself sang lots of "choruses" as we started our Christian lives. I love these choruses; most people know these songs from church to church. Sorry if I have repeated some information already given. I just randomly chose this one: How lovely are they dwelling places My soul longs for the courts of the Lord My heart and my flesh Sing for joy to the living God You are my King and my God. AMEN!
  8. Hello KaterinaChk We welcome you to Worthy, and thank you that you have trusted that you will find some people here willing to help you understand why you feel the way you do. I desperately wanted to know the truth. I knew there was something I was missing, and I didn't know what. I decided that I would not stop looking until I was satisfied that I had found it. "It" turned out to be a person - Jesus Christ - who, when I believed in Him and told Him I wanted to surrender my life to Him, revealed Himself to me and forgave me all my sin. I knew I was forgiven. I received Him into my life; I repented of all my sin, and decided to follow Him for the rest of my days. He has fulfilled me; He is my life. I hope you can ask Him to be your Saviour and Lord too. I will be praying for you.
  9. Hi Ed J Yowm may not want or need my affirmation, but with respect, he is not hassling you. He does ask thought-provoking questions which, for myself, I thank him. It has caused me to think outside the square and see things differently sometimes. Welcome, brother. You may have joined a little while ago and I missed the opportunity to welcome you then. ?
  10. Thank you, Gandalf, for your very thought provoking post. I have first-hand knowledge of the trauma suffered by these people, and count some of them as my closest friends and sisters in the Lord. I will do all I can to help and love them, as they may have been victims but are now survivors! Believe me, these are amongst the bravest people I have ever known.
  11. Hi Debp, Yes, I heard about it. I think George included it in the news section of the devotional too. Wasn't it wonderful he was found out? Thank God indeed. We have an anchor that keeps the soul, steadfast and sure while the billows roll.
  12. My book at the moment is an old one, "William Booth" by David Bennett. Those saints of old really humble me.
  13. Hi Priscilla Firstly, I am so glad you have come to this forum because there are wonderful Christians here who can give you good advice. Can I ask if you and/or your husband are Christians? If not, I can tell you without reservation - and some people think I am too straightforward, but I will tell you anyway - Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. You may have heard it many times, and it is the truth. HE IS THE ANSWER FOR THE WORLD TODAY (and always has been). His Word will give you answers, and He will lead you into all truth, if you will but trust Him, and pray, believing in Him, asking His forgiveness, repenting of your sin and asking Him to take control of your lives. If you are Christians, then you need to go to Him and pray. Ask Him to lead you to a Bible believing, Bible teaching church where people in ministry can pray with you and help you to learn how to trust God to lead you both into a place where you are healed and trust each other again. In all this you must be absolutely genuine in desiring God's plan for your lives, which is only ever good, better, best. As a committed Christian for a long time, I would never send you to secular sources as they do not have the mind of God in order to help you. They rely on their own intuition and secular/worldly education systems that do not involve Godly counsel. Seek God fervently and follow His commandments. I know there are other people here who can give you more advice. Welcome to Worthy ☺️
  14. I am absolutely genuine when I say "thank God He made me a nobody". I couldn't imagine anything worse (yes, sorry, there are much, much worse things) than to have your life on display in the world. It would be huge pressure; I for one could not cope. I like to stay under the radar, have my own space and "think". Just me. No offence intended, Katya ☺️
  15. Shiloh you are absolutely right! Nothing more to add.
  16. From early in our marriage, my husband and I have had a favourite verse - Josh. 24:15 ..."................ choose for yourselves today whom you will serve:....... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.". We have, of course, had many encounters with those who are not on the Lord's side. We pray that God will give us the words to say in season and out of season, that they may be able to believe.
  17. Hi lunarose This is how we learn to live by faith! A sister once put it to me this way - a mother has a baby in a pram and the baby can't necessarily see its' mother for a few minutes as the mother may have walked around to the front of the pram to adjust it or something. Just because the mother is out of the baby's sight doesn't mean she has gone away. No matter what the circumstances, we believe in and trust God because we know that we know that we know that He is there! Just keep trusting in Him; He will not leave us nor forsake us, even unto the end of the age! We all go through these times, dear sister. He wants us to stay with Him, through every circumstance. Stay faithful, and be blessed sister! PS - glad to meet you - welcome.
  18. Hi Butero The enemy drives what people see and hear in the media. Therefore a lot of our populations have their minds blinded about Israel and the Palestinian clash. They are not aware of how God gave the land to His people and how the land belongs to them. They only hear and believe what the media tells them. Unfortunately they don't read the Bible and choose to believe lies. It breaks my heart too. We will continue to pray for Israel and hold them up to the Lord for protection against all their enemies.
  19. Shapes, you need to do this. He is still teaching me how to trust Him. I thought I trusted Him, but then He shows me I have to trust Him more - and believe, no matter what the circumstances are. Our faith does not depend on our circumstances. I am feeling your pain, Shapes - but there is no one except Jesus who has saved you, my friend, and will continue to do so, if you will follow Him.
  20. Can I say I just want all of the above please? lol Yes, I guess I did mean section by section. I just put chapter by chapter because you first put Rev. 1 and then Rev. 2. Then I see the inclusion of certain chapters under that.
  21. Hi Marilyn Still excited. Where do you get these amazing pictures? I am so glad you are going through The Revelation chapter by chapter!
  22. Oh wow, Marilyn. This is so, so exciting. My heart is lifted up today as I contemplate what you have said, after what the Bible has said! Looking forward to the rest of Revelation.
  23. Hi Marilyn Praise be to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, for revealing to us Who He is and the inheritance which is to come to those who belong to Him.
