  1. I can't see God making a mistake and using the wrong word. 'Kill' is what He said right? In the KJV it says 'Kill'. If He meant murder, why didn't He just use that word?
  2. I'm sorry everyone. I didn't mean to start a debate over this.
  3. How can God look down on us and not be disappointed with the way we are conducting ourselves. (I don't mean individually. I mean globally.)
  4. This commandment has always been a source of concern for me. I don't see 'Thou shalt not kill' leaving any room whatsoever for interpretation. It says 'Thou shalt not kill'. It doesn't say 'Thou shalt not kill unless the person is an *expletive*" I'm truly not trying to pick a fight. I'm just looking to learn and by doing so, hopefully get closer to God. Make Him proud of me. God said that "Vengeance is Mine". Wouldn't this mean that God is saying "Leave it to me. I'll deal with Osama bin Laden"? I have been told that some of my questions are ones that no human could possibly answer with any degree of certainty at all. Maybe this is one of them. lol

  6. The reason I ask is because as we all know, 'Thou shalt not kill' is one of the Ten Commandments. I do understand just how horrendously brutal Osama bin Laden was, but does that excuse those who played a role in his death from punishment?
  7. It's sad state of affairs, isn't it?
  8. A man dressed in a $2000 suit can be just as dangerous if not more, than a person wearing rags. John Gotti was very well dressed. Bashar al-Assad also wears suits. Gotti was, and Assad is, a monster. If that man had of been wearing expensive clothes and a gold watch it would have defeated the whole purpose. God tests our faith. Maybe that was one. You have every right in the world to be cautious. There is much darkness in this world, but not wanting a seemingly indigent person in your church because of what you fear might happen isn't very fair. Should all less fortunate souls be denied access to a place of worship because of other bad apples that came before them? If so, why stop there? Perhaps we should condemn all of today's German citizens for Hitler's actions decades go also. I apologize for coming across as argumentative and I know that I am new here, but things like what you said annoy me. If a homeless person is intent on harming you or your loved ones, it won't matter if it's in a kitchen or a church. It's going to happen. Who are we to decide who is and isn't allowed to walk into God's house? It would be absolutely awful if your fears came true and a homeless person was allowed in by the church members and hurt someone, but in your sorrow and anger, you could never be accused of not trusting your heart and doing your best to be Christlike. When you die, your decision to go with your heart is what will matter, not that monster who hurt the ones you loved. I'm not judging you. It's important to me that you all understand that. It's just how I feel about it.
  9. I know that I'm new here but every time I turn on the television or log into my computer I'm blasted with a tsunami of discussion and images on Trump. Not that there is anything wrong with discussing him. He's quite possibly going to be one of the most remembered presidents in history for many reasons. Good and bad. Is it just me or are too many of us in the world so hung up on Trump that we're forgetting who really runs the show?
  10. Edit by Omegaman 3.0 Nicol, keep control over your language and your post won't get deleted. However, I have the same impression or belief or suspicions about Romney's actual motivations.
  11. There's a strong chance that many of you may have already seen this, but just in case.
  12. Hello Not to toot my own horn, but I've been sober for a little north of 20 years now. If anyone here is suffering, please contact me or reply here and we'll talk it out. God Bless
