I was looking back over this thread and noticed something that Nikki wrote.

"Strong on e-Sword translates the word covenant as a confederacy or league, which changes the meaning completely, and has nothing to do with a peace treaty."

I find that interesting because Strong's on Blue Letter Bible translates "beriyth" thusly:

1) covenant, alliance, pledge

a) between men

1) treaty, alliance, league (man to man)

2) constitution, ordinance (monarch to subjects)

3) agreement, pledge (man to man)

4) alliance (of friendship)

5) alliance (of marriage)

b) between God and man

1) alliance (of friendship)

2) covenant (divine ordinance with signs or pledges)

It can mean an agreement of ANY kind. In the Daniel case, it referred to the New Covenant in Christ's blood. What other covenant was confirmed during the 70th week? None.

There have been many anti Christs already. What does the word Christ mean? It means annointed one.

Matthew 24 English standard version

24 for false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders so as to lead many astray if possible even the ellect

What Matt. 24 is talking about is people who claim a false annointing or who are false prophets. The only time antichrist is mentioned in scripture it is as a spirit which has always been here, Not a person.

All this other stuff is just adding into what the Bible is PLAINLY saying.

Perhaps, but it is much easier than writing "The Abomination That Causes Desolation". Since most Christians know that the Anti-christ means this, it is a reasonable use of the term as his name.

"Most Christians" assume that is what the phrase means. Assuming anything is folly. The abomination that makes desolate was the Roman Army which destroyed the temple and burned Jerusalem. See Luke 21:20.

Blessings Brothers and Sisters, In Jesus Name!

While reading through Daniel, I came across this scripture:

Daniel 9:27 (King James Version)

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

In this scripture, Daniel only speaks of a covenant. There is no mention of peace at all. Searching the meaning of covenant, the closest I can come up with is the word treaty. Treaties are not always peaceful in nature.

While this set me back a little, because I had always said one of the signs of the times will be a signing of a peace treaty with Israel, I had to realize that this may not happen. Doing a little research, I came across one site where someone had posted that it was the western Christians who placed the word peace with the treaty from what was said in 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (New King James Version)

For when they say,

Grace to you,

One thing we can't lose sight of is that satan is a rip off artist. he's never had an orginal thought, he simply rips off God and imitates Him. he wants God's Glory.

he hopes to keep a deceived world clueless. Why not set up a covenant of supposed Peace and fool everyone into remaining blind to God's will?

The Lord has told us what He, God, will do and revelead what He, God, has done.

satan hopes to imitate these very things. The very premise of an anti-christ is that he is the opposite of every thing God has revealed about the Christ. Deception is his game and he hopes to steal the Glory from God.

Why wouldn't he create a false peace and a false temple of world peace based upon man and not God? :noidea: It's the best way to keep you from knowing God by imitating God and giving the world the easy way out.

Just because there has been like shadows of this anti-christ and his spirit doesn't mean he has fully manifested himself.

Peace,

Dave

 ... Yes, Satan does copy everything of God, the best he can, to cause one to believe what they truly have is of God.

The Covenant Confirmed

The covenant confirmed in Daniel 9 has to be the covenant of the 70 weeks of years decreed for Israel in the context of the chapter .... there is no other covenant described: [note: see article entitled 70 x 7s]

.... and there is no indication that this covenant is some sort of peace treaty between Israel and the nation's enemies.

Only the Lord can confirm this covenant by executing the coming 70th week .... thereby reaching the 6 objectives for the believing remnant of Israel who will turn to Him during His hour [time] of trial. [Daniel 9:1-27]

Visionary prophecy must be read carefully and in this case one needs to see that there are two princes involved .... the Lord .... and the other prince .... satan's beast of Revelation 13:1 and 17:8.

It is the Lord who was "cut off" at the end of the 69th week .... it is the other prince and His followers who will come and desecrate at the middle of the 70th week decreed. [Daniel 9:26]

The vision then repeats this same contrast between the two princes.

Daniel

9:27 And he [the Lord] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: [note the : divider in the KJV]

.... and in the midst of the week he [the other prince] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The Lord ["He"] will confirm the covenant .... the other prince cannot do this and would not because of the 6 objectives that will be met for Daniel's people, the believing remnant part of national Israel. [Daniel 9:24; Romans 11]

Then the other prince ["he"] will cause the sacrifice oblation to cease. [israelite worship at the base of the western wall of the temple mount ... the most holy place for Israel today] [Jeremiah 30:5-7; Daniel 8:9-12; Zechariah 14:1-5; Matthew 24:15-16]

This other prince is the little horn of Daniel 11:36-45 and 12:7. This king of the north and his followers will invade, occupy and rule over Israel, Jerusalem, and the temple mount for 42 months before the Lord will pour out His wrath upon the desolaters. [Jeremiah 30:1-7; Ezekiel 38:11-16; Daniel 11:41; Micah 5:5; Zechariah 14:1-5; Revelation 11:2; 12:3-17; 13:5]

None of the events of the time frame of the 70th week of 2,520 days has transpired yet and is still pending at this time. [Romans 11:25-26]

In fact, there is a breach in the time lapse that can be found in all of the prophetic visions related to the time of the end of this present age.

Events on the earth between the end of the 69th week [about 33 A.D.] and the beginning of the 70th [still future] are not recorded in the scope of visionary prophecy ... many significant things have come and gone over the last 2,000 years and they are simply not there.

For example: Daniel's visions track the geopolitical phases of the Middle East through the end of the rule of Antiochus IV [11:21-35] .... and then the rest of the unfulfilled portion jumps directly to the time of the end. [Daniel 11:36-45; 12:1-12]

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
