~ A Prideful Person Is Continually Offended, Easily.

As nothing, nor anyone can be perfect enough for them.

It's not really perfection they seek, but service unto themselves to keep.

Making them the center of the universe for everyone around them. -

Not being perfect is something that one should define. You can take that to things that you should have done that you didn't because you didn't think of it. Perfection is out of our reach. But I would say that striving for perfection is not a sin, nor is it from Satan though Satan will surely throw it up into your face when you do not reach perfection........ and I imagine that he also throws it up into Christs face when we fail also. "did you see what he just did...." That little phrase helps me to not sin when I am aware of it, for I know if I do, the dark one is there yelling for the whole heavenly host to hear...... "Did you see what he did?"

I agree with MG and I believe that someone claiming they are perfect is nothing more than a lie from the pits of hell.

Depends on if they're looking ahead at the end results of God's work in us. Of course on our own there's nothing we can do to achieve perfection but its through Jesus Christ in which we are perfected. There's nothing wrong with claiming now what Jesus Christ has all given us through His work on the cross, its glorifying Him. But yes, claiming they are perfect without Him is a lie from Satan.

God is perfect and He has perfected me through the blood of Jesus Christ. Yet I still remain in this sinful body for a little while.

Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Wanting to be perfect is not a sin, nor a lie from Satan. Satan was not kicked out of Heaven because he was imperfect. He was perfect with free will and wanted to take over God's spot in pride. He was corrupted from perfection, as from what I understand of the word is that only perfect things are allowed in heaven.

Now the Lord wants us to be perfect. He will make us so, as long as we let him. Now that does not mean we will never make a mistake ever, that we will drive perfectly, or type perfectly etc. When he is speaking of this he means to kill our old nature and bring us into to our new nature perfectly. So that spiritually we are perfect. This is something that is imposable for us to do, so we need to let him work on us as he will make us perfect. We do need to work on it, with his help however, we don't just go okay God make me perfect and sit back and hope he does it.

Now as for Perfectionism. Yes there is a pride to this. Pride is sinful, matter of fact C.S. Lewis says that Pride is the worst sin. I would agree. So trying to be perfect, not from a desire to please God but out of shear pride, is sinful. I would say motive is the key, just like with a lot of other things. You can even be nice to your enemy's but if you do it, just to show them up, to show how much of a good person, does it make it a good thing?.

So to sum up. To be strive to be made perfect as He is perfect is not sinful. To try to look perfect on the outside in order to stroke your pride, is.

I was doing some deep thinking today and Ive decided that along with pride, Satan is also about being perfect. I haven't fully formed my thoughts on this but does anyone think Im on to something here? I think a person's desire to be perfect is evil and of Satan. Im not sure if that was part of Lucifer's fall but I wouldnt be surprised....Comments? Thoughts?

Loved one it is good that you wish not to emulate satan... yet he is trying to be the creator when he is in fact the created!

When you try to pattern your life do it with the directives of our loving Father within His Word...

Matt 5:46-48

46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

NKJV

because this perfection come in the form of love we must allow the Holy Spirit to form it within us so that we may show forth the witness of The Son Who came and did love perfectly the whole world.... Jn 3:16 Love Steven

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
