So, when everything is going wrong, what is going through your mind? Do you think at times it's just the devil won't get off our backs? Do you think at times it's because of sin in the world and that's "just the way it is?" Do you think at times it's because of our own sin?

I used to think all of those things, but I don't anymore. Sure, the devil could be giving you a hard time, but that's his job. Don't pay any attention to him, because that's what he wants. He wants your attention. If he can keep you preoccupied with all these distractions, he knows he has leverage against you. Don't give it to him.

I think at times...it is all of those things - sin of others, our own sin, the devil, etc. And if that's true...

What do you do to change things for the better? Is it a matter of just trusting God? Is it a matter of just changing something in ourselves? Or both? Or neither?

God said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you". That means He's there, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He never leaves and His door is always open.

Talk to Him. No matter where you are or what you're doing, He's always there. Tell Him what's on your mind. Talk to Him as if He were right next to you. Talk to Him as if you were talking to one of your closest friends. He wants to interact with you. He wants to help you. There are no problems that He doesn't have the answers for. You'll probably have to do some of the legwork, but if you take Him with you, He'll knock aside any obsticles that stand in your way.

Don't be afraid to ask Him for peace of mind. If you're stressing, ask Him to take it away. Ask Him to calm your spirit. He can fix whatever ails you. All you have to do is ask. Open your heart to Him and He will open His to you.

He is a truly awesome God.

Wait for morning to break..it will ...

wait...

Psa 63:3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Psa 63:4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

Psa 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

Psa 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psa 63:7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

Psa 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;

For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.

My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;

If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus,

What do you do to change things for the better? Is it a matter of just trusting God? Is it a matter of just changing something in ourselves? Or both? Or neither?

I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts about this. The reason being that it seems like I am in a rut of having bad things happen to me...things going wrong in my life. First, it was problems with my home. Then, it was problems with my body and health. And now, problems with driving and vehicles - I was in car accident #2 today in about 1-2 month time frame. I won't lie - I am very stressed out and even heart broken by the things that have been going wrong in my life lately. I know I am more vulnerable, too because my husband is deployed and he still won't be home until October. I am mostly happy, but I am breaking down inside because of the circumstances around me. It is easy to say I trust in the Lord and to read the Bible and to pray...but what do you do when you feel like you are running out of encouragement or even hope?

Thoughts and suggestions, please.

I believe in a combination of all these things. Ultimately, I still look to GOD as the overall soveriegn and ask HIM "What's up?" The things that come into our lives have a purpose in GOD's plan for us. As it is written in the scriptures, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love GOD and the called according to HIS purpose."

Trials test what is in our hearts better than anything. IF the heart is truly steadfast on GOD, than trial become something we shrug at. It our hearts are divided between what we want and what HE wants, than we start to kick and scream a little about how unfare it is (fortunately we never really get what would be fare. Thank GOD for grace)

Then there are those who have been promised that if you have enough faith all will be well. They get so focussed on what they are expecting from GOD that when they do not get it, they either look at themselves and bemoan how hard the Christian life is or they shake a fist at GOD an tell HIM HE is not keeping HIS end of the deal.

Me, I look up and say, "I'm sure you have a reason for this" and just continue on. I like to share my trials when they come so I can share how JESUS took care of them. I find every trial to be a way to share the faithfulness of CHRIST.

There are song lyrics that go like this, " sometimes HE calms the storm with a whisper "Piece be still" Sometimes HE hlds us close and lets the wind and rain go wild. Sometimes HE calms the storm at other times HE calms HIS child."

When you trust and thank God and Jesus then nothing goes wromg. It may look wrong for us as humans at that moment but God and Jesus prepares the way to shield you from the future or the next moment.

Yes, I know. I realize in this moment how easy it is to read the story of Job and rejoice about it...how easy it is to listen to the songs you mentioned and be encouraged...but sometimes when you are actually going through things...well, it's not easy! I just feel like I am at a breaking point and as I said I am more vulnerable because I don't have my husband here. It is very hard on me. :D

Believe me - I know!

I have a hard time with it, too. but yet I find my greatest times of worship are when I am in my deepest pain.

Yea, I think there is truth to that, because when you are hurting beyond words...what else can you do but cry out to God and trust Him?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
