Some Catholic churches still perform exorcisms; but my personal opinion is that it's not necessary.

There's a Scripture that says that all authority under heaven and earth has been given to us who are in Y'shua. Simply using the name of Y'shua (or Jesus, if you prefer; I prefer using his Hebrew name, it seems to mean more) and the demons are supposed to flee.

I know of a deliverance team in my congregation that uses the name of Y'shua to banish oppressing spirits; it seems to work, because I've been through it.

Sample prayer:

Spirit of (whatever name), I bind you in the name of Y'shua. You have to leave; you have a name, and knowing that name, I bind you and cast you out in the name of Y'shua; every root, every cord, every tentacle. I tell you in the name of Y'shua to go into dry, uninhabited places and I put a Y'shua HaMoshiach bloodline between you and me and me and you. Thank you YHWH in the name of Y'shua that the spirit of (whatever name) is gone.

That's only a sample prayer; you can simplify it any way you want. Now I realize this post will likely open me up to flames; I only know what I've been through and what I believe, I can't force you to do anything. Again, you don't have to use it word for word; you can substitute the name of Jesus if you feel more comfortable using that name. I just want to utilize his Hebrew name because it seems like it's more powerful (maybe just to me).

Short answer, No don't do it.

Mat 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Mat 4:2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

Mat 4:3 And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."

Mat 4:4 But he answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Mat 4:5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple

Mat 4:6 and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, "'He will command his angels concerning you,' and "'On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'"

Mat 4:7 Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Mat 4:8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

Mat 4:9 And he said to him, "All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me."

Mat 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone, Satan! For it is written, "'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'"

Mat 4:11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.

Even Jesus did not enter into or converse with satan except to quote scripture directly. So that is what I do if I feel any evil presence (never come face to face with and demons, except my own yet  ). But just quote scripture. Or sing, sing worship songs, the devil hates worship music I think. I usually quote a whole psalm like psalm 23. Thats why I think it is good to be able to quote some scripture. I'm in a dentists chair, or an operating room, I'm reciting scripture to myself if I can't pray.

Who is Y'shua, Yshua HaMoshiach and YHWH?

Jesus did cast out evil spirits though, correct? So I could cast out evil spirits in His name?

blessings,

this is a very important point sister please pray about this.

Grace to you,

In other words, Jude is saying not to mince words with a wordsmith, you have a mere brutes understanding of the spiritual. Therefore be wise like Michael who understands these things and use the only rebuke necessary, "The Lord Jesus Christ rebuke you."

Peace,

Dave

I am wondering this because I had some issues with my anxiety on Monday and I said some words to Satan, basically telling him to get out of my life and I am no longer his, that I belong to God now. Is this wrong of me to do?

you done good..... hopefully you spoke them out lout and in the Wonderful Name of Jesus, The Christ.....

we can and should rebuke and shun the devil....

beware, one thing to remember, spiritual warfare is not a game to be taken lightly, but one to be taken seriously.....

we are to be walking in the Spirit.... we are not just to be in the Spirit from time to time....

remember when some of the disciples tried to cast out the demons from the one person, and the demons physically beat them up and chased them off..

they were not "walking in the Spirit"....

John and Peter, walking by the Gates called Beautiful, a lame man asking for money, they replied to him, that silver and gold (money) had they none, but what they did have they would share with him....... they did not have to go to the alter and get prayed up, they were already Walking In The Spirit....

Eve gave dominion up to satan...... when Christ died and rose, He recovered the dominion that man lost and returned it to man.... again, man now has dominion over all things as The Holy Spirit governs.... Through Christ, All Things Are Possible......ALL THINGS....

We do also need to recall that this is conditional .... on us.... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you..................

To have a relationship with God we must meet God on His terms and conditions, now ours. to do that we must spend time, one on one time with Him regularly. what kind of a relationship would it be for a man and woman to be married but not living in the same house? or even just seeing each other for a couple hours a week in a group setting????

continue to remain steadfast in the Lord no matter what comes against you.......

even through temptations, God has always ensured there is at least one way out..... some times, getting out of a temptaion situation might even lead to a harder life... for a time.... but.....BUT...... the rewards for continuing in Christ will always be greater then the short time easy life....

Continue to rebuke the devil and his followers......

now, not everything that is bad comes from the devil, do not give him credit where credit is not due... some times it is our own doings.....

Well, Eve sure did in the garden, Jesus did when he said, get thee behind me Satan (which is what you were doing) Sometimes we have to put Satan in his place in our lives. Using the name of Jesus is more powerful than Satan

Satan cannot be everywhere at one time but God spirit is everywhere no matter where you are at.

IMO it is never wrong to rebuke Satan.

John 10:10--The theif (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Don't allow Satan to steal your peace keeping you in anxiety. I know anxiety is hard to deal with but we know we have Jesus to call upon. And we have authority over Satan through the delegated authority that has been given to us in Jesus name.

satan himself is one person. And he can't be everywhere like God can. So isn't it more likely that when we are burdened or tempted that it's a result of our sinful nature and own lust, or perhaps an influence from a demon? I wonder if the devil himself decides to take on specific "challenges". Because in the Bible, whenever he was in it, it was always a specific time, place, and situation. Such as in Job and when he tempted Jesus. That make any sense?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
