10 Americans in Haiti Charged With Child Kidnapping

I think people have expressed concern and wondered about why they acted in such haste - I don't think anyone has really said they are guilty - but perhaps acted to rashly. Did I miss something?

The whole thing is tragic - the red tape that is involved before you can help the children because of those who would harm the children.

I don't like the idea of accusing the brethren without hearing the whole story.

No one has accused them of anything, Neb. Except the Haitian government. I think we agree that they need to be checked out though. They are most likely just misguided people who went off without considering the consequences. Time will tell the story and, in the meantime, the 33 children are in a safe place.

The DJ on the radio the other day, the morning before the verdict, was saying how she saw peace on their faces, and one expressing that if they have to be made an example of in order for more children to be saved, then so be it. We rejoice that good will come out of this. She, the DJ, mentioned how her heart is just going out to them and she strongly feels the need to pray for them.

So when I heard the '"omething fishy" comment after that . . . it just made me feel sad.

I'm running to the side the DJ is on.

this group did not do ther re search or did they bother to talk to the right authoritys even though they feel they did the right thing i am glad they got cought as when it comes to adopting a child you need to go threw the normal process first before you are given the go ahead to adopt the child and bring them into your country

the men and women from the baptist church wil be made an example of and from what i am hearing they wil serve time 15yrs imprisonment as its a seriouse crime

they are praying for gods wil to be done and were praying that the judge would show favor by setting them free its going to take three months before ther case is heard before the judge so they are going to be in jail for a while

the kids they wanted to bring into america already had parents thes kids did not loose ther parents like with the other kids who had lost ther parents

before entering a country you should always do your re search know the law especialy when it comes to adopting a child from a third world country

thes americans wil not get of scot free or wil the judge hav sympothy on them

its been a while since i hav posted in this forum i tend to not reply or post any more i hav come hear and hav taken my time going over the topics i can see nothing has changed much

but i am keeping a close eye on this one as i want to see what hapens to thes christians

Christians really need to be praying for justice re: this issue. It seems that the leader of the missionaries may have problems following rules and doing things the right way.

These missionaries slipped a note to NBC stating that they were just volunteering, that they've been lied to and that they feared for their lives.

Their own lawyer was fired for extortion against them!!!!

This smacks of corruption at many levels.

I believe that Mrs. Silsby the mission leader might have deceived the other missionaries in her zeal to accomplish her own goals.
