Welcome to Worthy Brother.

The story of Job is interesting. satan could not afflict Job without Gods permission. God did not kill all of Job's live stock and children, satan did that, but, God allowed it, for His purpose. satan also afflicted Job further, but not without permission.

Through this whole terrible ordeal, Job exercised free will.

This.

Welcome Ryan.

At our church service the other night my pastor made a comment about God being in control of everything. After service I asked him that "If God was really in control of everything than doesnt that throw free will out the window." Obviously he said no and he gave me Romans 8:28 to read. So after reading that verse I still wasn't convinced that God controls everything. (Not saying that he couldn't if he so chose.) So I looked up some other verses regarding the topic. Many times in scripture it tells us that God is not in control of everyting and that this world is satans (Luke 4:5-7), and that we as belivers are supposed to be light unto the world. Romans 8:28 tells us that God causes everytihgn to work together for those who believe. I belive that God does not control everything because he wants us to come to him out of love not control or fear, and that God uses the things that he doesn't control to benefit his will in the end. Please share your feelings on this. I am a very open person who is always open to new ideas. Thank you. Your brother in Christ Ryan

You have just stepped into one huge controversy- free will / God's Sovereignty - wow I remember when I started studying that! Years ago!!! God's Speed Love Steven

Freewill goes all the way back to the garden to eat or not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When that temptation from Satan Eve had a choice to eat or not and we all know she chose to eat from the forbidden tree. Eve also chose to take the forbidden tree to Adam and he chose to eat of the forbidden fruit himself. Both Adam and Eve made "choices" of their own wills having no control upon them.

God created us with the capacity to exercise our own freewill in the way we desire to go. When God created mankind he did not create them to be slaves having no choices of their own. But he created mankind and gave them freewill not being controlled as a slave having no choices. Being told from day to day what to do day in and day out when to do things and when not to do things when to eat and sleep and so on.

Even though God is Sovereign and knows of his own divine will he made from the foundation of the earth and those plans that were made before the foundation of the earth was laid has been revealed to us in His will being the Bible.

God is our Creator and is in control he created man a little lower than the angels and in that place up under the sun God has placed us to make our own choices in this life whether our choices are bad or good.

If I didn't have freewill then I would not have the capacity to make any type of decisions. I decide things from the morning to the night when I go to bed. From day to day just according to what a day may bring it can force us into making hard decisions one day from the next.

A plan can't come to pass unless a decision is made hopes, dreams, just anything can't happen on it's own until somebody will make the necessary decisions. Those who fail to make decisions their plans will fail as you can't move forward until you do

Yes, we can decide who is in control of our lives do we allow God to govern our lives or do we allow Satan to govern our lives.

This might be hard to get one's head around, but I believe God gives us free will but He already knows what we have done with it. It's kind of like, as an example, I decide to move from one city to another for a new job, and I find that it is not actually what I really wanted and have made a bad choice. God knew I was going to do that from the beginning (the very beginning), He knows what I am going to do next, because my future, which is His future plan, is already in the past for Him.

God lives outside time, time is our invention, to God everything just is.

So God created us, and knew we would sin in the garden, but allowed it to happen, because He knows where it will end. Everything is His creation, and He is sovereign, so He knows everything. Once we understand that, we understand that everything is about Him, not about us.

Most interesting - I heard of a well known minister who at the altar call would not ask the song 'I surrender all' to be sung, because it is something that is something that we never do.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
