One of the points being made is that concerning the word 'Allah'...however much any one destests it, or tries to negate it by using a small 'a', it does not get away from the fact that the word in modern usage today is not a synonym for Satan, but simply translates as G-d.

Let's see if I can explain the difference. I'm aware that the two words are referring to the same deity among a lot of Arab Christians. Apparently you don't get it either; I am using 'allah' in the historical sense, going back to it's origins, when satan became the islamic 'god'. The two words refer to the same being.

Unfortunately there is sometimes found such hatred for Islam within Christian circles (often evidenced by outright ignorance that wants to have its own way) that it goes beyond the claims of hating the sin, but loving the sinner, and promotes a harsh, brash, uncaring, defiant type of Christianity that is barely indistinguishable from the more extreme elements of those in other camps.

If you can't distinguish between the two then you are very naive. No one mentioned hatred for islam....except all of you muslim apologists. If you want to call someone ignorant just say it outright; don't beat around the bush. Btw, 'ignorant' is defined as 'unknowing'. Have YOU read the Qu'ran?

Not according to Nebula's criteria. She said "The Koran says that "God has no son." So how can you say they worship the same God as us?"

The Talmud says that God has no son, so by the above criteria the Jews do not believe in the same God as Christians.

Would you be able to pull up the exact quote, and where in the Talmud it says that?

Thanks

Neb, come on. You know that Jews deny that Christ is the son of God.

The point is, we would not burn the Talmud. Neither should we hold book burnings for the Qu'ran.

Thanks, KatyAnn, for actually posting on THE TOPIC instead of moaning and wailing about how mean and ignorant other people are. :whistling:

Here's what I think. If you have occult materials then get rid of them. Burning them is an option. Those people in Acts really got moved by the Spirit and did a good thing. But having a Qu'ran burning day incites violence. It's pointless because the Muslims already know how we feel. We need to handle the truth better than that.

A Qu'ran burning day. Who thought of that one, the Shriners?

It was actually the Dove World Outreach, a nondenominational church in Florida. It IS pointless.

you mean the people supporting the burning of books?

No. I mean the ones wringing their hands and hiding under their computer desks because the muslims might get them. :whistling:

Does anyone remember the Danish cartoon incident? Burn a Qu'ran Day would make that look like nothing. It would be pouring gasoline on a fire that is already out of control. I've watched Youtube videos about this and the Southern gentleman from Dove World Outreach Center appears to be completely off his rocker. BTW, the Dove World Outreach Center? As in holy dove? As in Holy Spirit?

You're really afraid of them aren't you? They will not prevail; unless they repent God will destroy them....all of them.

I'm afraid of all the surprise revenge attacks against defenceless Christian communities in India and Nigeria and Sudan and Malaysia and Pakistan and Somalia and Ethiopia and ..... (because it WILL happen as a result of the burning of the Qur'an by a Christian church in the U.S.A who have the U.S police to rely on for their protection).

But actually what I really would like is to be able to write all my sins in books and send it to this Dove church (or whatever it's called) and ask them to burn them. But I believe that my sins were written in a book and nailed to a Man who in turn was nailed to wood. Much as I'd like to do unto others as others would (and do) unto me and my Savior, I don't think it would serve any good purpose, and my Savior said I should do unto others NOT what they would do unto me, but what I would HAVE THEM do unto me.

Actually the best way to burn a Qur'an a day is to save one Muslim a day. One saved Muslim = 1 useless Qur'an.

Yes, but "the Jews denying Jesus as the Son of God" is different from the words being written out in their religious text, "God has no son."

The Koran has this written.

Does the Talmud? If so, I'd like to see the quote. That's all.

The point is, we would not burn the Talmud. Neither should we hold book burnings for the Qu'ran.

I do agree with this.

A Muslim-turned-to-Jesus deciding to burn his or her own book is one thing. A church burning the books for the sake of a statement is a very bad idea.

Have you READ any of the posts in this thread? A few of them definitely are; you just have to read them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
