God is not coming at us with a baseball bat to listen to Him, and being so strict , toward us. Nor, does He want His Pastors to preach that way also.

Or , people would be so afraid of God, and wouldn't go to HIM.

Jesus came here to let us know ...that we have a heavenly Father , that Loves us...His creation. That God, our Father wants a relationship with us.

Through His Son, Jesus, we have access to the Throne of Grace.

And , I do believe I have a relationship with Him.

It;s great that you have a relationship with Jesus

But can we agree that relationships differ? That none are exactly the same?

Sometimes we need to be hit over the head with a preach. Especially if it is the truth.

And a "fear" of God (in the correct sense), is a very healthy thing to have!

There are many of us that like a bit of meat with our milk.

When I do wrong ...the Holy Spirit of God convicts me . It is scriptural and that is just how God deals with us.

He corrects us., and we are to behave as dear Children, doing good in life...as dear children of God.

I don't need a Preacher to preach on conviction and damnation ...or I would not go to GOD !

I do like the meat of the word to keep me straight .

The meat of Gods word ...is God speaking to us , to keep us in obedience before HIM.

He is not a mean God ...and I do Love His correction ...His ways. A Father to us all.

For He is... the Potter and we are the clay. He keeps molding us into the image of His dear Son...to become Christ like.

When I don't listen ...He'll put me in the oven again. LOL

Joel is also callled by God....and is an encouraging Preacher to the body of Christ....that is why so many people go to his Church and

watch him on T.V.

He doesn't preach on depressing things . Who wants to hear that ?

Exactly why Joel is NOT approved by God. Christians in third world countries would love to know that their belief is in vain and

that Christians in America go to mega churches to be told that God wants them to be healthy, wealthy and not worry about a thing

Unbelievable

That is NOT what Osteen teaches or has ever taught. Attend a service and you will see multi-millionaires in fine clothes sitting next to people off the street who don't have two nickels to rub together. Unlike the Night of Hope events in stadiums and arenas, the services at Lakewood are always free and no one is compelled to contribute financially.

ummm...I've both heard him speak and watched several interviews...I'm pretty sure there is only one Joel Osteen. Pass the collection plate please

Respectfully, you are the only one mentionning God and a baseball bat in the same sentence. Is there a reason for doing that? Why would you do that?

God is Holy...that is far more than just being strict.

You appear to believe you know what God wants 'His' pastors to preach on? Seriously? All of them?

Actually, the Bible tells us that the beginning of wisdom IS THE FEAR OF GOD. But not for the reasons you appear to suggest, but rather

because He is Holy and the only One that can throw both body and spirit into hell

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt 10:28

When an individual only talks about God's love and represents Him as some kind of uncle who just wants us to sit on his lap and burp us, they do

God a great diservice.

God hates sin...He does not tolerate it and to deny that, is to deny the gospel and the reason Jesus had to die.

Sometimes people believe they are hearing from God when really they are listening to a deceivng spirit because they allowed false teaching to obliterate

the truth of the Word of God.

If a person does not accept the whole truth, then they are going to be mislead. Osteen is misleading thousands by misrepresenting the holiness of God and the

death penalty for sin.

A person can actually say they believe in Jesus, but the devil and the demons also believe and tremble.

Joel does not preach the gospel as found in the Bible...he preaches another gospel and another Jesus

I don't need a Preacher to preach on conviction and damnation ...or I would not go to GOD !

Correct me if I am wrong, but you would not go to God if a person said something you don't like? That's what I get from what you wrote above

If I were to hear hell and damnation words about God from anyone, all the time... from a street preacher , Church Pastor, or Evangelist.... it is not up-lifting !

It is not up-lifing my spirit ...my own spirit... on the inside of me.

It helps to hear good and positive things about God ... through our lifes' ups and downs..through trials & tribulations.

Joel Olsteens is a Preacher with encouraging , and positive words . If he were to preach on the negative...he would have an empty Church !

Actually if he is Spirit driven and his words are anointed and he preached the hard truth his church would be full. The one I attend is....

What is negative about God's word in the bible?

Who does not want to hear something in a preach that hurts them or convicts them?

Those who take their spiritual drink as "Christian lite".

I like a strong brown brew with body and with foam on the top.

Jesus never once candy coated His message.

What gives Joel the prerogative to do it?

He is producing "Gentle Jesus, meek and mild" clones.

What makes you think a preach should at times not hurt you, convict you?

I like sermons that make me squirm. I like uncomfortable sermons. Those force me to examine myself in light of Christ.

There is a time and place for everything. I have listened to many of his speeches on TV, being that TV these days offer very little. I can see how he can boost someone who is feeling downtrodden, but I cannot see him drawing anyone to Christ. It is all about more ... more happiness, more security, more faith, more this and more that. He also speaks about having better .... better job, better house, better family relationships, better finances. Most of what he speaks about is positive thinking, which is not scriptural.

The problem I have seen is that he rarely quotes scripture. I wold love to hear him speak ...

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Matthew 6:31-33

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. "

That is just the point... Joel takes the positive up-lifting verses out of the bible and it gives us healing to our soul and spriit.

Nothing negative about Gods' word or, in the way Joel Preaches it !

Well you have said the same thing over and over but it seems you are choosing to ignore other words that Jesus said. Words that you are most likely

not comfortable with or you would say something about them.

What you espouse, is not Biblical Christianity.

Shiloh,

Every service I have ever attended includes a personal invitation for anyone to become Christian. Counselors are available to talk and pray with anyone who desires such.

His brand of "Christianity" is not what anyone should be participating in. He is a false teacher and he is teaching a false gospel. The fact that he has altar calls doesn't mean anything.

Mark, you appear to know next to nothing about Christanity, and as such, have no credibility as to what is or is not authentic Christianity.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
